With Rodbert, his mindset is that he can will himself to many things. He learned how to fight then later learned magic after some setbacks. This just seems like something that he must do, being wrong is hard for him to take.

Talk about really trying to put yourself into a character's mindset.

How long of a trip would it be to make it back to the town?

Approximately 10 miles to the mine then 3 miles to the village of Loban. You have 2, maybe 3 hours of day light at this point. You have plenty of fresh water (there is a stream a couple of hundred yards from here). A day or 2 without food may not be pleasant but isn't going to kill anybody either.

Will add the head in the sack to the inventory.

We could also assume that body parts were harvested. It was discussed several times. Up to Rodbert of course. IMHO even if they are not magical they would be great props to use to impress the ignorant :)

I had seriously written a post and submitted it, only to find out that the stupid browser must have failed in reconnecting. It was a good one as well! *Sigh* Guess I'll pick up from where things are now.

Does it look (and smell) like some sort of natural mold? Or something unknown and possibly dangerous?

I'm just glad we don't have any one playing that would lick stuff randomly when underground in this game. :D

Nope, the plan was to guard the rope in case you need to come back out that way.

No, I was making a different joke about the licking and..... guess that didn't work.

This is the point of the adventure that angers me. Specifically that steelsister never showed to play. Her dwarf would be perfect for what we are going through. I'd just love for that character to be an NPC so I could sell the info about this place to feel like I got some sort of revenge or satisfaction for the absence.

Still may sell the info to the mining guild. Wonder how much it is worth?.....

Mining rights are owned exclusively by the king so the mining guild works for the king. Local lords don't like them since they have to protect the miners and their land gets damaged and they get nothing for it. The most value for the info may actually be the dwarves, since this is a small coal mine and the real worth is the history.

Good spot on the shelf being dangerous, Both previous times I have run this it ended up causing problems (in 2 different ways).

DM Hint; you are missing something in one of the descriptions.

If you were talking about the lock, I was thinking more that we need to find the exit first rather than hunt treasure. If you are speaking about something else, then I need to think a bit.

I noted the sword, I was more concerned about finding the exit before the Resist Cold spell wore off.
