As would Crivit, if you don't mind a zealot.

April 5, 1 VC
A party led by Quirin departs for the east to bring a message to the dwarves living there, and potentially undertake other activities in the meanwhile! Wish them luck--traveling into the domain of the wolves, they could be in for serious trouble.

I assume from this turn of events that Quirin will NOT be hiring one of the mercenaries?

Yes, this is correct.
Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I'm not getting email notifications from the site. I will look into this.

March 14, 1 VC - 8:30pm
The expedition once led by Njord to further explore the ruins to the east of town returns after dark, missing their leader and the dwarf who had accompanied them, and carrying the body of the middle-aged cleric Murdoch who fell to evil during their adventure.
The expedition thread is now closed. Please see the end of that thread for information on rewards, and do any loot distribution in the loot and treasure thread. Thank you!

Ulf Stronghammer, March 15
After visiting the temple, Ulf gathers with his companions in the inn.
"I have about two weeks to live," he explains, "unless I can bring back something known as 'Witch's Mange.' It grows around the 'Ayuna' tree in marshes and swamps. Of course, nothing up here is ever easy. The priest doesn't know where an Ayuna tree can be found. The best he can offer is that there might be swamps to the west and northwest."
"Will you help me? If so, we should set out immediately."
Ulf orders a beer (-2 cp w/ tip) and asks if the bartender has heard any more information about Ayuna trees or the location of swampland than the priest has.

Of course I will help you Ulf! I think we all will right guys?
Perhaps we can ask around with the hunters and woodsmen in town. They might have seen some Ayuna trees on their travels.

Baxtaw- Yes I will help find this cure you need. We should say goodbye to our friend Murdoch and head out immediately.

Constance finally rises from her table, finished resting her weary bones. She goes to visit Largo--now that he's recovered and found employment--and then faffs about Vaul for the day, watching the Harrowing decorations go up.
-5c deducted for common room lodging
Constance will participate in Harrowing

That's three of us for Witch's Mange Quest. Anyone else want to come?
I was also thinking we might hire some mercenaries, and offer a bonus for returning the needed Witch's Mange within 10 days. We could split off from them if it seemed like a wider search would help us find it faster. If Ulf's part of the party didn't find the stuff, we would head back when necessary to get him back to town before dying. Hopefully, the mercenaries would have found some of the stuff and the bonus (paid after delivery, of course) would be enough to bring them back.

March 29, 1 VC - 10:30pm
The giant Lug and the dwarf Orrin arrive well after dark carrying the feverish body of their female companion Naila on a stretcher. There is no sign of Lars, who was the leader of the expedition when it departed Vaul, and the group looks both battered and travel-worn, like they have been through the innards of a purple worm and lived to tell the tale.
No doubt they brought fabulous treasure and engrossing tales along with them on their return!
Please check the final post of the expedition thread for any rewards--and use the Loot and Treasure thread to do any needed divvying of loot.

Anyone who wants to participate in the Adventure to Save Ulf From Herpes expedition will need to pay for lodging through March 17, remember--since he doesn't get the info on the cure until then.

Mercenaries don't come online until April 1, past the time they would be useful for you. You can still check in with the hunters in town, however.

"A private room for our comrade, please. We're in need of hot food and ale. Once we se that our friend is on the mend, there will be time for grieving. After cheating death many times in the past weeks, we lost Lars literally on the doorstep of Vaul. In the stupidest, most horrible manner possible. Some overzealous shite named Wendall has some answering to do."
He and Lug get Naila settled before coming back to the common room.

Ghrym looks grim at this news. "Wendall, you say? I've seen him in here more than a few times. He seemed a difficult youth, but not one prone to kill others out of spite or on a whim. He's just a slip of a lad, in fact. I'm sorry to hear about your friend, but it must be some kind of misunderstanding. Odd situation, that. I was planning to mention your friend Lars' spellbook to Wendall next time he was in, to see if he was interested in buying it..."

Rhodri looks up from brooding over his ale at a corner table as the returning travelers come in. He makes his way to the bar and tosses Ghrym a silver piece.
"On me." Turning to Orrin and Lug, he gives a sour smile of commiseration. "Fellows who look to have had as rough a time as you could stand a bit of goodwill, eh? Did I hear you say you lost your leader? I was looking to head north myself fairly soon, if you're up to it. Where are you getting back from?"

7 April
Naila walks into the tavern, steps up to the bar, and orders an ale while looking around for Orrin and Lug.
