Break room

Derek will move to the break room, hoping Whitey's ploy will work. While there, he will keep an eye on Tiny as he sleeps, watching to see if anything abnormal should occur.

Chance, dining area

Chance joins the rest of the party in the break room. He stays as far away from Tiny as possible, gripping his mop handle. "I hope this works" he whispers.

Chingy

Bat in hand, Chingy joins the others.
Lets do this! I'm going straight for the cranium. I don't think body shots are gonna do much!

Whitey rouses a half-drunk Flo and guides her to the break room. Tiny sleeps, snoring loudly while Derek and Chance keep an eye on him. Norm sits in an old chair.

Steve and Chingy work on their plan to smash a zombie.

Syrus and Dean stay out front but out of sight.

Mel is still in his office.

Im assuming Whitey only killed the lights to the front & exterior- otherwise you will be sitting in a completely dark break room.

Whitey-Biker Starts taking apart brooms and mops. Starts putting points on one end.You guys with handles sharpen one end your handles

Whitey, I'll take one of those handles if you don't mind. Derek then begins sharpening one end using a kitchen knife.

12 Noon Monday
The rain has stopped and the clouds are starting to break up, the sun is shining. Not having the lights on out front has not really cut down the crowd of unwanted guests. They are still pounding on the glass and some are moaning loudly.

Dean and Syrus keep watch out front, but keep behind the counter out of sight as much as possible.

Dean suddenly calls out.
Hey guys, you wont believe this.

Breakroom

Hearing the shouts from the front of the diner, Derek stops sharpening his mop handle. He looks at the rest of the crew crammed into the area, and when nobody moves right away, moves cautiously towards the front to see what Dean and Syrus have noticed.

Whitey-Biker looks out front to what is going on. Still putting a point on the last broom handle.What fuck is going on now!!

Chingy also courious, follows Derek to see what he won't believe.

Chance, break room

Chance declines to sharpen his 'staff'. He doesn't want it getting stuck in anything. He'll look for a knife later if he needs a slashing weapon. He keeps an ear out to see if we can find out what's going on up front, but he doesn't leave Tiny.

"Derek, let's keep an eye on this guy."

I saw one of them run. Not fast like us, but faster than those others. Over here.
He moves to the side window of the diner.

You see a thin middle-aged man dressed in a running suit, earbuds still in his ears, jogging along the road. Not what you would call fast, but a hell of a lot faster than these other things banging on the glass. You would think he was just a guy out for a morning run except for the blood on his arm and several fingers missing. He jogs down the road, ignoring the diner and other creatures until he disappears from view.

Derek- Journalist

Derek watches the jogger for a moment, then heads back to the break room. One of them is jogging. It's not moving real fast, but it isn't shambling along like the others. I was hoping when we got out of here we would be able to out-maneuver them, but that may not be as easy as I thought.

Steve B. - Trucker

"You don't have to outrun them, you just have to outrun the rest of us. [he chuckles] An old Boy Scout friend used to say that about Bears.....We really should run more than hit.....We need a destination to head to, something within 100 yards.... Someone needs to back up a van to the door...." Steve spouts out random thoughts.

Tucker - Nightwatchman

"It's a great idea but I don't recall there being a van in our list of available inventory. Maybe I can make a run to one of the working cars. If I can draw some off after me, maybe I can run some of them down while everyone else makes the other cars and bikes."

You see that? He just kept jogging along. He didnt come at the diner like the rest of these things. Strange....

Its a little after noon, the clouds are gone, the sun is out, the rain has stopped.......but the relentless pounding continues. The creatures batter at the barricades and moan. They moan, as if they know you are in here, as if to say "here's dinner!".
More creatures come.

The three bikes are about 10 feet from the front entrance. Only Chingys has gas, the other two are near empty. There are only two cars that look in decent shape. One is Barb's, but no keys. The other one is Chance's vehicle.

The back hall by the restrooms is about 5-6 feet wide, only two men can stand abreast and still fight, and even then, they may get in each others way. So far you havent heard any pounding from the back doors.

Chance, break room

"It was worth a try, Whitey, but more keep coming. They must attract each other. I'm going to try my plan at the back door, but will peek out first. In case we draw their attention, we better be prepared to act. Who's with me?"

Whitey-Biker I'm with ya Chance I got you covered Whitey Takes his knife and put it into the sheath and straps it to his waist. He takes a sharppened broom handle and follows Chance to the back.
