Illuq keeps his hammers at the ready, not wanting to be caught off guard when those shadowy figures come back again...

"Ah well met my friend Robert though put me down, put me down, I ain't no cuddling baby!!", Agrippo squirms in his grasp not wanting to look like a kitten caught by the scruff of his neck in front of the others!

Once released he will say he met Strahd though no sign of Ireena, "he tried it on with me but my will is made of iron" , slapping his head and muttering something about a helmet of salvation. "there was a welcome committee of undead, I could have dealt with them of course. Boulders and bones on the floor, a crypt I think though angel hands here plucked me out in time"

Robert does set Agrippo down but not on the stairs inside the tower room. "Well nice you stubborn goat of a man. Next Time We'll leave ya alone then." mimicking Agrippo's tone and of course joking around he would never leave a party member behind.

The same place he used to be when? Characters have been inside the door on the stairs in the tower room, outside on the stairs that make the tower go shaky, and down on the landing 50' below the door to the tower room. Which of these is the place Robert leaves Agrippo—or are you thinking of somewhere else?

Gotcha. Inside the door are the stairs in the tower room. The door at the top of the tower stairs opened into more stairs that lead up into a room above you. I'm assuming that's where you drop Agrippo, with everyone else?

Having heard Agrippo's tale of his encounter with Strahd, do you continue on up into the room above, or go elsewhere?

I'd like to think we got in here for a reason some potential weapon to use against Strahd therefore I would like to finish this tower business first.

"Onward, it must be important if Strahd appeared," says Vorkath. He moves with the others up the stairs. He gets his potions ready for quick imbibing.

"He may be there, ready with your most powerful attacks."

Robert cringes at the mention of strongest attacks.....for in a castle he has far and few.

Date: Nouluna 4, 1221
Time: 9:30 PM
Weather: Thunderstorm
Moon: Full
Location: Castle Ravenloft, North Tower Room
**************************************

Agrippo tells you about his encounter with Strahd. "He tried it on with me but my will is made of iron," says the warrior.

You decide that whatever awaits in the room above you is a more pressing concern than tracking down Strahd. Cautiously, you climb the stairs.

You emerge into a torchlit room with a wood-frame bed against the east wall. In the bed, bound with manacles chained to the wall, is a humanoid figure. A chest sits against the south wall. An unlit brazier stands to the northeast. In the center of the room, a red pentagram is etched and painted into the floor. The room smells like wet fur and sulfur.

The figure calls to you in a weak voice. "Watch out for the—"

The warning is interrupted by four canine shapes leaping out of the shadows at you! Their coats are the color of old rust, their eyes glow like hot embers, and their snarling mouths reveal teeth that are black and covered in soot. Two of them stop 10' away and breathe fire at you (Agrippo, Vorkath: -6 HP each). Another lunges at Agrippo, but its bite is turned aside by the legionnaire's metal armor. The fourth leaps at Vorkath but trips over its own feet with a yelp (critical miss: free counter-attack for Vorkath).

Illuq, finally meeting a foe he can deal with, rushes into the room; attacking the nearest dog to him.

Iluq, dual +1 hammer attack, THAC0 16: to hit, [1d20] = 17+1, [1d20] = 20+1; damage [1d4] = 1+2 (+1 v. L), [1d4] = 4+2 (+1 v. L)

Tibbius will quickly grab up his cat and put his back to the wall to let those behind him through to the fight. Oh great! Vicious dogs to deal with? Easy Randolph.

Sorry. As much as I'd love to allow Robert's druid abilities to be useful for once, hell hounds aren't animals for the purposes of that spell. Robert can take a different action if you'd like.
