If you still need initiative:

initiative [1d10] = 9

Got to be someone else's go next time!
Forgot Nuke was a Druid - that helps...surely there can't be anymore?!

ok, cool... in that case...
longsword to hit (+3 str bonus): [1d20+3] = 5+3 = 8 , damage1d8 (+4 str bonus): [1d8+4 ] = 4+4 = 8
(so 7 and 7 in stenched state

Ewell feels better enough to swing away, but still a bit weakened. He misses badly.

Round 7

Posted: Wed Jun 05, 2013 1:30 am
by dmw71
Kaltar continues to face the javelin-wielding troglodyte (e11) and is able to avoid the latest piercing attempt. "See to Ewell," Strom shouts as he rushes to Kaltar's aid, engaging with the northern-most troglodyte, but neither he nor Kaltar are able to finish the beast off. Epsilon does quickly move to the cavalier, not hesitating before casting his final 'cure light wounds' spell of the day (+6 hit points). Ewell, with renewed vitality, quickly moves to flank the beast Kaltar and Strom are engaged with (e11) but the beast, amazingly, is able to survive his third attack of the round.
---
Garth and Alordan battle with their adversaries (e12, e10). Alordan easily avoids the javelin thrust from his foe (e10) but the beast avoids the ranger's slashing attempt, perhaps distracted by what happens a few feet away from him as Garthgets run through with a spear (-8); his near-lifeless form collapses to the blood stained earth (wasting his nice to-hit roll).
---
Grimnail continues to demonstrate amazing dexterity, avoiding multiple attacks from multiple opponents (e4, e6), but the enduring conflict is clearly taking a toll on the barbarian as he misses with both his own axe attacks.

I copied the rules below, but they can be found here: 14. Movement

---

Retreat
To get out of a combat, characters can make a careful withdrawal or they can simply flee.

Withdrawing
When making a withdrawal, a character carefully backs away from his opponent, who can choose to follow. The character moves up to 1/3 his normal movement rate.

If two characters are fighting a single opponent and one of them decides to withdraw, the remaining character can block the advance of the opponent. This is a useful method for getting a seriously injured man out of a combat.

Fleeing
To flee from combat, a character simply turns and runs up to his full movement rate. However, the fleeing character drops his defenses and turns his back to his opponent.

The enemy is allowed a free attack--or multiple attacks if the creature has several attacks per round--at the rear of the fleeing character (rear attacks receive a +2 bonus). This attack is made the instant the character flees. It doesn't count against the number of attacks that opponent is allowed during the round, and initiative is irrelevant. The fleeing character can be pursued, unless a companion blocks the advance of the enemy.

---

With no one left to block the creatures you're engaged with, formally 'withdrawing' may not be possible. If you wish to disengage, I will allow you an individual initiative roll. If you win (your weaponless modifier would be +3), you can effectively withdraw without attack. If you lose, the creatures will both be able to attack you as if you were fleeing. Difficult situation -- sorry!

So I walk in on my 3yr old daughter typing happily on my laptop and she giggles as I see she rolled a bunch of Poison Saving Throws, and trog poison weakness macros on the Unseen Dice Roller. LOL. Could of been worse. She might have been pushing "buy now" on ebay! :D

Dodge the vicious snapping of sharp teeth.
Duck beneath poorly aimed slashing claws.
Rolling away from the swing of crude trog weapons, Grimnail finally finds an opportune moment.
He slashes an ax sweeping the leg of the injured lizard-thing and, in the same move, drops to one knee and drives his second ax upwards into the groin of his other foe.

Grims Dual Hand Ax#1 [1d20+4] = 11+4 = 15 Damage[1d8] = 4 Hand Ax#2 [1d20+4] = 16+4 = 20 Damage[1d6] = 4

Alordan recognizes the dire situation he is in as he watches his partner drop to the ground in a pool of blood. Tightening his grip on his sword he attempts to destroy his opponent - fighting to the end if need be....

Long sword attack (Normal;) [1d20] = 12 (THACO=20)
Long sword (Normal; +3 Str Damage) - damage [1d8+3] = 7+3 = 10

Kaltar leaves the trog to Ewell and Strom and rushes to help Alordan trying to not show his back to allow a free attack:
Hopefully he can get across and attack:

Mace Action To Hit [1d20] = 5 Dam [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5

It doesn't get any better does it?!

Strom, after missing his first attack, pivots on his front foot and attempts a swipe from a different angle. God help me he mutters as he begins his swing, still feeling clumsy and weak from the stench.

[1d20] = 13
[1d8+1] = 7+1 = 8

Seeing that no one rolled for init... FINALLY a high roll  ...
Plain initiative: [1d10] = 9

not that it matters with all of us missing. at least when we get killed this round, it wont waste good shots.

Round 8

Posted: Wed Jun 05, 2013 9:34 pm
by dmw71
Grimnail continues to display his superior reflexes as he manages to avoid the multitude of attacks from his pair of troglodytes (e4, e6). In a retaliatory move, he sweeps low, chopping at the leg of the already wounded foe (e4), nearly crippling it, but not quite able to drop it. He follows up that attack with his second axe, driving it up into the lower torso of the other opponent (e6), wounding the beast.

With Garth down, Alordan also finds himself targeted by a pair of swamp beasts armed with javelins. The first (e10) stabs at the ranger, missing wildly, but the second (e12) critically catches Alordan (-8), sending the near-lifeless ranger toppling over (not that his luck with the die roller was about to change on the offensive side).

The lone, northernmost troglodyte, now surrounded by Ewell, Kaltar, Strom and Epsilon, wildly issues what it expects to be its final attack at Strom, missing the knight badly. The creature will live to fight for a bit longer, however, as the cavalier and paladin are unable to finish it off.

Kaltar and Epsilon, you two indicated moving to where Garth and Alordan now lie. I will allow you to adjust your actions in response to what happened before you would have arrived. You're welcome to attempt anything, but feel free to ask if you have any specific questions.

---

Post completed on Kindle, so the map as well as dependent page updates (e.g. hit points, signature) will need to be completed later.
---

I will need an initiative roll for round nine, as well as declared actions with any necessary rolls.

Jeez - they are few enough of us left. Kaltar's intention is to move towards Garth intending to heal him but of course there are still Trogs in the vicinity
"Come friends we must reach Garth to be able to revive our comrades - are you with me?"
He starts to move in Garth's direction, hoping the group follows.
I think you have my poor attack roll if required!

And initiative for you (not sure why I am trying again given my history with this!

initiative [1d10] = 0

That was definitely the last tine for a while! How can we roll high init and low everything else!
