Ellith

"I can have a look" - the elf nodded, flipping the sword in his hands and testing its weight. Then he took a moment to peruse the writing, and try to understand its meaning.

(Can also use Read Magic if needed)

Although the halfling's corpse is stiff, the chainmail slips off in no time...as does Brinna's leather armor!
Gromp drooled.

"This mail fits perfectly!" Brinna exclaims.
“Yeah, it tits ah fits perfectly.”

Ellith notes the shortsword is VERY well-made. He also finds the tell-tale mystic runes indicating the sword is indeed enchanted. If he casts Read Magic, he will discern the magic contained in the item.

The spell is only needed to determine the EXACT enchantment, which can wait, IMHO.

Whomever takes the sword should call it ENCHANTED SHORTSWORD until the spell is used.

Brondulm

Unless there are objections, I will claim the shortsword and forego any of the coins.

Myrrh

"I am not opposed to you taking the sword for now. But would prefer to split magical and non-magical loot separately and the magical only once we know what it does exactly so we can determine not only a fair split but its best use. If everyone disagrees with me I will honor the groups decision but this is how I feel it should work."

Ellith

"Your reasoning makes sense" - Ellith nodded at Myrrh - "I am in agreement" - he sheathed the blade back into its scabbard, and returned it to Brondulm.

As referee, let's try to make this crystal clear:

Money & valuables will be split evenly....when? Right away?

Items can be taken and used (with group consent) until their value/use/enchantment is determined, then re-assigned permanently.

Lia

Lia says a brief prayer over the dead, "I have no objection to those who can make use of the items found, doing that very thing. If it helps in our endeavor so much the better. Perhaps someone should be designated to hold any items that might be of worth and coins so they might be distributed later."

"I am fine with you holding any items or loot Lia if you are volunteering. Now where to now?"

Brondulm

Here you go m'lady as he hands over the purse from the dead halfling to Lia for holding. I will take fine care of this sword. We can decide who becomes the permanent owner of the weapon once we return to town.

Brondulm believes there is another egress point to this room and starts looking for secret door on the northern wall of the room.

Note the stick-figure dead halfling....

Btw, will the body be left here for now?

And is anyone else checking for secret doors?

Gromp applies his dwarven skills to finding secret doors or other unusual features.

I'm gonna speed this up...

Brondulm, Myrrh, and Gromp all check out the northern walls but find nothing.

Ellith walks by and points to the outline of a secret door on the wall where the piles of skeleton bones originated.

I rolled for you all... 5, 3, 4, then a 2 for the elf.

Who wants to try opening it?

Myrrh tries opening the secret door.
