I have found a mage player. She has made an account and will soon be ready once you return to Borderton or other likely place.

Could she be in with the nomads that just showed up? Assuming the groups aren't going to try and kill each other, that is.

I'm not only feeling better, but my weekend plans got cancelled due to weather. If the new player is interested, we could get their PC involved as fast as she's comfortable with.

Well you might all kill each other, but she's a Ravenfolk. And she wants to read everything first.

Are we going to fast forward back to town, and through training? i know there are some RP things that need doing, but wasn't sure if we wanted to do much before refitting and starting out again.

I'm fast forwarding between encounters. After the nomads there are some more possibles. I don't know what they see because I haven't rolled yet.

I'm thinking toughness and lucky are the ones I'll pick from that list.

Our new PC will be played by roobeastie once her ability to post is approved.

You should be able to add her. If you click your name on the upper right, it should give you a "UCP" option. UCP -> "Usergroups" tab -> "Mange Groups" -> "Manage Group" (far right) -> "Manage Users" -> "Add Users" (at the bottom). Do NOT make this thier primary group!

She can probably also look at her UCP -> "Usergroups" -> "Scarik's Keep on the Borderlands (BX/Chainmail)" (select) -> "Submit" (bottom of the page, default seems to be 'Join Group')

I figure Morwen has been skulking about in the vicinity of Raven's Well, looking for an opportune moment to make her presence known. She's kind of dramatic like that.

Right but didn't you say my henchdwarves get one as well or is it just Bofur?

Just Bofur. The others have to wait for level 2, but racial abilities are powerful. Dwarf are probably the best overall. +1 to all saves is a whole feat on its own.

Conversations with the nomads can be summarized afterward among each other if you like. The fact that they are going on is obviously not secret.

Ji-ho is meeting with the nomad leader. Barnaby is socializing more generally.

I just remembered that we have to pay a shilling per pound (value, not weight) of treasure we come back with. Roughly 5% taxation.

You can use magic items to pay that. Provided you learn what all those potions do.

Also I think I underpaid for the shield.

So I did underpay for the shield. In the interest of RP I'll have Borav, during downtime, determine that it is worth far more than promised and Gurav will rectify the oversight. Since he's a trustworthy NPC this isn't a big deal, though in the future if you ever want to sell a magic item be sure to identify it first yourselves to determine the value.

Just as a PSA I also don't intend to make this a Monty Haul style campaign, but I do like to let the dice fall as they may and this treasure is an example of that. It could have been worth much less and that would just be the way it is.

That said. the shield is worth double what I said originally: 12,000p (£50). More than double the rest of the loot combined.

I'm okay with a Monty Haul game, armies aren't cheap!

Check my math, this is in addition to the existing coin and XP. It does not count the new PCs, and we still need to pay ~50s in taxation.
