Valkrina
My idea was to leap acrobatically upon its back and stab it in the head in a Tarzan-esque bit of hunting.
Valkrina Dex check vs 1-3 [1d6]=2 vs 8% [1d100]=82Valkrina: Spiked Spear [1d20+2]=6+2=8 [1d10]=7
Which partially succeeds.

Re: The Oasis
Seeing the great beast twist and turn somehow feeds Tuurma's rage even more and with a soul chilling howl she brings her bastard sword down and plunges it straight into the back of the crocodile.
Bastard sword THACO 19: [1d20+4]=20+4=24, dmg (sm/l): [1d8+4]=5+4=9/[2d6+4]=9+4=13 ooh that's gotta hurt
Pulling the blade from the thick body she's hit by a veritable fountain of blood, and as the blade comes down again she looses her foothold of the beast's back and both warrior and blade comes sliding off the croc's back.
Bastard sword THACO 19: [1d20+4]=7+4=11, dmg (sm/l): [1d8+4]=7+4=11/[2d6+4]=3+4=7
But it's not over. No sooner has she hit the ground than she somehow manages to tumble around and throw herself at the beast again, slashing at it's side. "DIE!!!"
Bastard sword THACO 19: [1d20+4]=18+4=22, dmg (sm/l): [1d8+4]=5+4=9/[2d6+4]=8+4=12
Aaaand that's it from the blood crazed berserker. For this round...

Re: The Oasis
Wait. Tuurma made three attacks? What am I missing here?
Akhilleus made two because of weapon mastery. Three would be against level 1 opponents. And I don't think the croc is one of them.

Re: The Oasis
Rage increases nr of attacks to 2/1, or 5/2 with weapon mastery. But you might be right that it only works on less powerful opponents though. I'm new to the rules.
(There are also some quite significant drawbacks
to rage, as you might notice soon.)

Re: The Oasis
I'm also (relatively) new to the rules. I was asking in case my character could make another attack
But it must be the rage then. Akhilleus is a normal fighter.

Re: The Oasis
Yes, as understand it "vanilla" fighters like you scale faster than fighter "variants" at increased levels, but the variants have like special abilities instead, like berserker rage. IIRC you will get more masteries earlier and also be able to choose that "mega mastery" later on which I think is unavailable to fighter variants.

Re: The Oasis

Please correct me if I missed something, but I don’t think Kang gets multiple weapon attacks in the same round. (maybe the second post was inadvertent?)
Berserkers (with weapon mastery) do indeed get 3 attacks on even rounds while raging.
Speaking of which….. Can I get that dreaded d8 roll from Tuurma, please?

Cyril
"Oh bother, I don't think I can heal that," Cyril says when he glances over at the goat in the beast's mouth. "Well done, Drest! I just need to dodge that tail and..." He redoubles his effort at trapping the croc.
Azathoth is not with Cyril today!

I wasn’t attacking thinking I had an extra attack, it looked as if everyone was going into the next round.

Re: The Oasis
Oh, okay. Normally the round wont advance until I update what happened and then call for the next actions. Like this:
Total Redemption
The Oasis
11:11am, Cloudy, Dry
The few remaining slaves at the oasis start to gather along the bank of their pool, watching the events play out before them with great interest. They cheer when the animal is injured, and gasp audibly at the magic spells or when things go badly for the group.
As poorly as the fight started, the group pulls it together much batter once they all rush in to attack the magically glowing monster with their melee weapons. While it turns itself around violently, flailing it's loose tail to the side wildly, it starts to rip through the rope net as if it were made out of paper. Cyril tries to retrace his actions of netting the back end of the beast, but it whips its huge tail around at the priest, hitting him hard with the thick armored appendage and flipping him to the sandy ground, dangerously close to the waters edge. 4 dam
When the half trapped monster continues its escape towards the water, Valkrina leaps aboard its broad back, trying in vain to stab it through with her spear. She rides along as the others stab, slash, and spear as well, ripping several chunks of flesh and hide from the powerful animal as it limps its way to the shoreline. Drest, Kang, Akhilleus, and Xenos are all able to cause devastating wounds, nearly killing the thing with their combined onslaught.
With an unbridled rage like none of you has ever witnessed before, your pale skinned companion Tuurma does the most damage to the creature, nearly killing it by herself as she hacks and slashes uncontrollably at her target. She howls out some kind of crazed battle cry that nearly causes everyone around her to flee her insane violence.
This iron mud worm has seen all it cares to of the aggressive humans and their sharp steel. Somehow still able to function, albeit just barely at this point, it wearily continues towards the water's edge, pulling Valkrina, Tuurma, and anyone else foolish enough to prevent its escape from the bloody beating. It even spits out the bleeding corpse of the goat just before its head hits the water, hoping it will help it get away faster. Everyone involved can see it wont take more than a pin prick to put this badly wounded threat down permanently.
Actions!
Valkrina AC:7 16/16 FF/H
Cyril AC:8 1/5 CF/CLW
Akhilleus AC:4 32/32
Drest AC:7 16/16
Tuurma AC:3 13/13
Xenos AC:6 12/12 CT/CT
Kang AC:7 8/8

Kang slashes at the beast once more with his halberd...
Halberd Attk: [1d20+1]=13+1=14. Dam: [1d10+1]=5+1=6
I imagine the beast is glowing enough to give Kang a plus modifier to hit?

Re: The Oasis
Cyril holds up the remains of the net handle and drops it. He hobbles away from the beast saying, "Well done Xenos! Tuurma...truly frightening ferocity. The rest of you, too! Quite the team!"
Once he is clear he bends at the waist, breathing hard and checking his wounds.
I'm assuming since the croc is retreating that Cyril can also retreat in the opposite direction without some kind of consequence?

Re: The Oasis
Akhilleus keeps attacking the beast, now almost desperately, seeing that it is reaching the water.

Re: The Oasis
Tuurma, seemingly oblivious to what is happening around her throws herself at the animal again screaming something unintelligible, saliva spurting from her mouth.
Bastard sword THACO 19: [1d20+4]=4+4=8, dmg (sm/l): [1d8+4]=2+4=6/[2d6+4]=7+4=11
She slips in the loose ground, and swinging her giant sword in a really wide circle, misses Cyril's torso with just a few feet as he withdraws.
Bastard sword THACO 19: [1d20+4]=18+4=22, dmg (sm/l): [1d8+4]=6+4=10/[2d6+4]=6+4=10
Again, somehow finding renewed strength immediately she jumps at the crocodile, this time running her sword through its tail, effectively nailing it to the ground. When the sword at first does not come loose for another swing, as she bends down to tear the hind parts of the tail away from her prized weapons, she seems to be biting at the unarmored soft underparts.
"NNARRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" *swallows*

Valkrina
Still balancing on it. I would like to stand on its back and ride it like a surf board.
Valkrina Dex check vs 1-3 [1d6]=1 vs 8% [1d100]=68
Most for the cheering crowd (and self agrandiesment). She raises her spear and stabs at it too.
Valkrina: Spiked Spear [1d20+2]=13+2=15 [1d10]=4

Drest
Drest attempts to end the beast once and for all.
Short Sword [1d20]=15 to hit [1d6+1]=3+1=4 damage
Doesn't include the faerie fire bonus.
