STARBOX Episode Two: Game Chambers of Questal

"Well, crap." The Barabel sums up the situation while bringing his slugthrower up and firing at the green one.

Tunnel leading out of the Game Chambers underneath Moff Bandor's Palace


Just as the battered, weary and mind-drained party of Rebels-turned-Traders-turned-Gladiators found a concealed tunnel that led to sunlight, a pair of menacing droids carrying Kit and Vale's captured lightsabers blocked their path to freedom......

As the Droids advanced with the humming lightsabers ignited and lighting up the dark tunnel, the party opened up on them with a volley of blaster fire and a powerful slug from Zuul's 'Enforcer' pistol....

Kit's shot was blocked by a swift move of the green lightsaber and deflected into the wall, but Kael's shot caught it on one of its thick legs and burned a section out, causing it to advance with a slower, strange 'loping' step towards the Wookie....

Professor Clark fired a blast that was likewise deflected into the wall of the tunnel thanks to an inhumanly fast parry by the blue lightsaber holding Droid. A moment later a blaster bolt from Kato flashed JUST past the Droid's body, missing by centimeters and then the Droid jerked back for a moment as Zuul's slug caught it in the torso and blew out some servos and wiring, causing it to stagger, but not stop in its advance....

The Green lightsaber wielding Droid moved to within melee range of Kit and swung its saber, but narrowly missed the albino Wookie as she dodged backwards. The Blue lightsaber wielding Droid on the other hand managed to stagger forward and with a super quick 'stab', was able to melt/cut some of Zuul's scales off of his right side as he hissed in pain at the burning sensation of the wound*.......

OOC: Okay, both Droids are in melee range now, so I'll say the 'front' line is Kit, Zuul, Clark and Kael....anybody else wanting to attack them runs the risk of possibly hitting their friends if they missed unless they work out some kind of 'fall back and I'll step forward' kinda deal...

*Zuul is Wounded again; -1D to all actions until treated....

Vale says, "How unseemly for a droid to be wielding a Jedi's weapon." He reaches out with the Force and tries his best to wrench the blue lightsaber from the damaged droid's grip with the power of his mind, pulling it into his own hand.

OOC: telekinesis on the blue lightsaber!

Kael will continue to fire at the same droid.

Kit

Kit will try and dodge and fire at the same droid.

Clark, now being in melee, switches to smash the droid with the butt of his carbine.

Zuul

Zuul checks off yet another pain sensation. It's not every day you get stabbed by a lightsaber.

He hisses and spits at the droid, then lashes out with his blades, stabbing the offending droid.

In the tunnel leading to the surface, a battle between a pair of lightsaber wielding droids and a band of escaped Rebels/Traders came to a vicious end....

The albino Wookie Kit'katarra dodged out of the way of a slice from the humming green lightsaber the droid in front of her wielded and just BARELY managed to not get sliced in half by the attack. She returned fire with her blaster carbine, but let out a growl of annoyance when the droid whipped the blade around and deflected the bolt into the wall....

That deflection though left the droid uncovered for a moment and Kael took that opportunity to put a bolt right into the Droid's head and with a shower of sparks, the headless machine took a tottering step for a moment, then fell motionless to the ground, its lightsaber deactivating as it hit the ground.....

Meanwhile the Blue Lightsaber wielding Droid easily stepped aside and dodged Professor Clark's clumsy swing with the butt of the Blaster Carbine and it was about to retaliate by driving its humming energy blade right through the Academic when it inexplicably found it could not move its weapon....

Vale Starcloud reached out to the Force and concentrated on his weapon being held by the machine in front of him and he put his hand out and imagined an invisible hand holding the Droid's hand still.....and sure enough, the Droid was unable to attack Clark with the weapon.....

Zuul didn't waste any time wondering WHY the droid was just holding the lightsaber still and not attacking friend Clark, he just leaped and attacked with his large blades. The first attack did little but cut a scratch in the metal of the machine's armor, but his second blade came down and drove through the area that was already damaged and various wires and gears were severed and split and sparks came flying out as the machine started jerking and shaking for a long moment and then as the Barabel stepped back, pulling his weapon with him, the droid staggered back and then collapsed onto its back on the ground....

Right then, the figure of Kato burst through the front rank, pushing his new found allies aside and quickly put a bolt into each Droid's 'body' on the ground while calling out; "I WILL SMITE YOU! THE FORCE IS WITH ME!" It's a long pause of silence, before he turns and sees the others just giving him THE LOOK. 'What?", he asks rhetorically....

Everyone breaths a deep sigh of relief for a moment and then they all realize, Jackson's gone....but some hasty footprints in the dusty tunnel show he went back into the Game Chambers.....

Kit

Kit retrieves her lightsaber.

She just looks at the prints going back.

[Starbeard]

Vale Starcloud

Vale retrieves his own lightsaber, glad to feel its odd weight back in his hand.

"What was wrong with him?" he says about Jackson as they look at the tracks running off.

[Rex]

Kit

"Grlll..."

"Maybe the mind confusion thing got to him."

[ateno]

Kael heads to check the robots, looking for expensive pieces, then stops and turns. "Should we not go after him? Is everyone alright, no new injuries?

Kael

Clark thinks that Kit is probably correct, and immediately heads back to retrieve Jackson (by force if necessary). The longer the delay, the farther away he can get.

[Monsieur Rose]

Zuul

He shakes his head at Kato and grins. "Please. Don't let him stop you. Smite away." He looks around triumphantly, expecting the order to continue out, but resigns himself to backtrack when Clark starts moving.

Zuul keeps his knives out and trots after Clark.

Kato sheepishly refrains from further "smiting" the defeated droids. He tries not to gawk and Kit and Vale, nor to stare at their lightsabers too much. He is only moderately successful.

As the party of Rebels rest for a moment after the defeat of the Droids and the Jedi regain their lightsabers, they realize that one of their number is missing. With a sigh, they turn to follow Jackson's tracks back into the Game Chambers to see 'WHAT NOW'.....

They soon find that the Engineer had gone back to where the infernal machine was and while wincing from a combination of pain from his wounds and the ache in his head, he is still grinning as he finishes throwing a few levers and cranking up a few dials. The machine starts making and ever louder whining sound and he yells out to his fellows as they enter the chamber; "THAT OUGHTA DO IT! THIS SUCKER'S GONNA BLOW IN MAYBE 5 MINUTES, SO LET'S GET OUTTA HERE!" and he starts rushing out of the room as his frustrated companions, who had just walked in after him are now turning around to follow him OUT!

The party retrace their steps and soon they are bursting out of the tunnel and into sunlight and everyone feels a moment of pure joy before an annoying voice calls over to them. "Congratulations on being the first to make it OUT of the Game Chambers alive....but you won't be able to savor THAT victory for very long, I'm afraid", says a cruelly smiling Moff Bandor, from the safety of standing behind a squad of 8 Stormtroopers and several land speeders behind him, including Kael's....

The Moff continues to gloat for a few moments as the Rebel-turned-Trader band watches the 8 Stormtroopers, one of whom has a Light Repeating Blaster, two more of whom have Blaster Rifles while the remaining 5 are holding standard-issue Carbines.....then a massive explosion echoes from behind them and the Palace collapses in on itself and throws all of the Imperials for a loop for a moment, giving the band a much-needed moment to act*.....


OOC: Okay, the Moff is about 15 meters away, behind the 8 Stormtroopers who are about 10 metes away. There's not really any good cover between you and them, but there ARE several landspeeders 20 meters away (5 meters behind the Moff). You've all got a free round to act....

Kit

Kit takes off for a landspeeder. Activating her lightsaber and using it to clear anyone who gets in her way.

"Follow me, I have keys to one."

Though Kale is not much of a runner, he will try to make it to his deluxe speeder.

Vale nods and follows the others. He targets the light repeating blaster and cuts at it with his lightsaber, hoping to disable it.
