Valkrina

Valkrina hard intelligence check vs 8 [4d6]=19

She checks the well. Looking at any stone engravings. She will pull a pale of water up. Is it clear and drinkable or scummy, salty?

Euripides Nereos

The Atlantean will use the rusty tankard to scoop some of the water out of the well. He will look at it and sniff it, and if everything seems like it should, he will drink.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. The Dark Spot
Late Morning, Cloudy, Cool

Looking over the well, Val doesn't see any engravings or other markings in the stone. She and Euripides inspect the water, finding it to have a strange darker than normal hue, even though it smells like normal water. A taste of a drop on the tongue doesn't reveal any other abnormalities, but the odd color is a bit concerning. Still want to drink it?

As the others discuss their next move, Drest starts to hear more voices coming towards them along the wide trail. It sounds like two men talking. He picks up on one sentence in the common tongue as the voices draw near. "Those thralls said it was right up ahead here!"

Drest

Drest stands up and waves to the others and waves them into the jungle to hide. He finds a good spot he can watch from and hides just inside the edge.

Valkrina

The strange and darker hue. Putting that with other potential clues I am going to say it has blood in it?

Either a dead body is poisoning the water or it is fed, treated that way. A blood gutter leaking sacrificial offerings life blood to drip into the cistern. If that is so, then the folks who drew water already know that.

She thinks about what to do. Information is important, won't be gained from killing people and folk rarely spill the beans under interrogation.

So .... Something different. I have at least a faint 'onja' leaf dress and headgear going on. I will draw water from the well, filling any troughs or pot plants. Singing some 'la la la' and when the pair appear, act as if I expect them and greet them.

"Onja, Onja. Hello. Do you need water, please bring your canteens. Sit down in the shade over there. How was your day?"

Sorry folks, not sure what happened to Scott here.

The Dark Spot
Late Morning, Cloudy, Cool

Drest motions for the others to hide again, and most of them do. Though, Valkrina has a different idea. Still garbed in her leafy headdress, she stays at the well, waiting to see who is coming for a tainted drink next.

Drest sees the pair first, two bare chested, muscular looking men wearing kilts of leather armor with long hair and wild beards. They carry a long pole over both of their shoulders with two bundles attached to it, swinging to and fro as they walk. One of the bundles is man sized, moving and jostling sporadically.

As soon as they see Valkrina at the well, they drop their pole with a thud and a groan to draw the short swords at their sides, moving rapidly into the clearing towards her.

They initially seem confused by her greeting, slowing their charge slightly, but they eventually look at each other and shake their heads, resuming their assault. One shouts as they rush forward. “Who the…..what are you doing out here? And what do you know of Onja? Speak plainly and quickly or you will be the next one in the bag!”

“Who the…..what are you doing out here? And what do you know of Onja? Speak plainly and quickly or you will be the next one in the bag!”
Valkrina

"Ooh boys. So ill mannered. Just like that vagabond madmen by the beach. He said he wanted to get me in the sack too."

She wags a finger at the men and speaks again."Now your robed fellows said I could stay here and serve and learn and maybe attend the next feasting. Did you hear last night's? They caught a pirate Captain and dragged him off. Now I have to practice my singing for tomorrow's event. Is that the dinner in there?" she points to the sacks.

"Now be good enough to see if my dance routine is worthy enough?"

The bard brings out a tambourine and performs a song for Onja. (strictly 80's disco)

As she does she casts her Mesmerize ability into the verse to hypnotise the men and leave them open to suggestion.

Euripides Nereos

As he hears the voices approaching, Euripides will return to the cover provided by the trees, drinking the water in the mug when he gets there.

The Dark Spot
Late Morning, Cloudy, Cool

The men in the group all hide in the bush while Valkrina attempts her subterfuge, but these chaps don't seem interested in listening to her song. Euripides drinks some of the dark water he collected from the well while he waits, finding its flavor bitter and tainted in some way. Can I get a Death Save, please? :?

Before she even has time to get her tamborine out, one of the charging burly, unkempt men plows directly into her, shoving her hard on the shoulders with his hands and sending her stumbling backwards 8 feet, but not injuring her yet. I will need a successful Avoidance Save to prevent her from falling on her butt. You can act accordingly with the results. The 2 men continue towards the backpedalling bard, apparently uninterested in listening to what she has to say. They appear to be ready for violence if she continues to resist. "We got one fer the pool already, you crazed bitch! But if ya wanna take a swim with em, that can also be arranged."

The man sized bulk in the larger bundles they dropped starts to move a lot more, and a grunting noise can now be heard coming from within.

Xenos

Seeing that the bards distraction seems not be working, Xenos steps out of cover towards the men. He points at the man closest to the pool and utters the word "Die!".
