"Well Keg would still be able to see up here on this plateau with moon and stars, just not as well as us, and he won't have to be in the lead. So it's really not a reason not to do the sensible thing."
"Elanaerel thank you for the kind offer and we will probably need to take you up on it today, but no reason to use up our magic getting water, when we could conserve it with some common sense."

"Before any long rest that we may take I'll be able to refill our waterskins. That way I can pray when I'm fresh to Ehlenestra and we can count with her aid for the next day."

Karaunios, you may want to make sure as typically in 1e spells are from midnight to midnight with a rest needed over at least part of the night.

Might be better to travel at Dusk and then into the night. We have lanterns. It will make our journey longer but it will be easier on us with out the heat. The other issue is after the sun sets there are alot more uncivilized creatures out looking for food. If we travel after dark they have the upper hand as we are limited in our vision range and likely most of them are not.
Max
This thing better be worth the struggles to get. Unless there is some kind of instant fortress there I don't see how it is going to help the town out. No fresh water and those greedy Dwarves running around looking for rocks.

The Search For The Seaside Tower
Earthday, 25th of Goodmonth
Noonish, Hot, Humid, Buggy
Looking the second and third set of bones over a little closer, Keg finds them smashed as well, including the skulls. It is impossible to learn anything more from these broken bones.
Deciding that they will rest for a while in the shade to eat a nice lunch, TK reminds the group that carrying a torch on a night march up here will likely be seen for miles.
The party heads for the orange rocks where they can discuss how they will continue their trek after they finish with their break.
Approaching the colored "rocks" gives some members of the group pause as they get closer, starting to wonder if the distant outcropping isn't actually what it seems. That's when one of the rocks starts to move and shift, suddenly standing up on crusty looking legs that don't really look like rocks anymore once the beast stands up to full height. Easily 5 feet around, the crawling rockpile scuttles towards the intruders, snapping a pair of dangerous looking claws out in front of it as it skitters across the black ground.
Actions?
positions: Keg Woodwright 13/13
Gnodric AC5 10/10

If she has the time, Elnaerel will circle around Gnodric and try to hit the crab on one side.

Thanks for the reminder, OM.

The Knife
"That thing's bigger than me!" exclaims The Knife. "There's no way I'm attacking the pointy bits".
He starts to slowly and carefully move through the edge of the trees. Having seen that there's more than one crab, The Knife looks for a tree he can climb. He searches for one that will give him a good shot at the other crabs if they enter the fight, but not so close that climbing the tree will wake the crabs.

Following Kegs lead he charges forward as well dropping his staff and pulling out his long sword.
Feanol

Re: Quest #34 "The Search For The Ruined Tower”
Do you want to include an attack roll or would you prefer to let me make them for you?
Either way is fine with me, but most players prefer to make their own.

Keyon
The young pirate blinks and his eyes go wide. "Blow me down," he breathes before working toward the treeline near TK, intent on finding something relatively safe to climb out of the reach of those wicked claws.

BH: Unless I'm mistaken, Kegs AC should read 1/5/2. I am not sure where you got your 0/0/1 that is listed on his sheet.
The Search For The Seaside Tower
Earthday, 25th of Goodmonth
Noonish, Hot, Humid, Buggy
Keg seems almost happy to attack this giant crab, rushing forward to get in the first blow. Unfortunately, its hard crusty carapace proves too thick for the fighter to penetrate. Elnaerel and Gnodric rush forward as well, the failed mage looking around for his cousin after he delivers a wicked blow, sliding his sword into an unprotected joint under the creatures natural armor.
Feanol barely notices, slinking towards the trees with Max and Darklin, hoping to stay out of the way of the dangerous snapping claws of this monster. Darklin fires a sizzling missile from his fingertips at the crab, hitting it right in the eyestalk and causing it to fall backwards a few steps. The spell doesn't take the monster down, but it clearly didn't anticipate this kind of resistance.
TK and Keyon cower move into the shabby vegetation at the edge of the rocky ground, finding a few trees that are climbable, even though their branches are coarse, thorny, and sparse.
Keg is smacked by one large claw, luckily able to stay out of its pinching grip. 5 dam Gnodric ducks the swing of the second claw, but becomes a bit concerned when he sees a second giant crab stand up and skitter towards the melee. (#2)

Elnaerel gives it a try again and attempts to hit the first crab with her club.
Club - To hit [1d20-3]=17-3=14; Dmg S/M [1d6]=4 L [1d3]=2
You don't use the weapon familiarity rule like in 2e, right?

Feeling the realness of finally being in the fight he's so longed for he lets out a yell, but he has a bit of a flutter in his stomach as he pulls back his sword, seeing the second crab, he attacks again.

The Knife
The Knife looks at the thorny trees, then at the crabs pincers. He decides to take his chances with the thorns. Once he's up in the tree he grabs a dart and takes aim at the second crab.
Not sure if this is the right one, but I rolled a Hard Dex Check to save time
