Lerrick
The cleric smiles at the thought of taking refuge in the hut for the night.
Yes, I agree with your suggestion Andron.

Maag
Maag feels some saliva dribbling down his chin as he listens to the conversation going on around him. He looks up to see a bird in the tree above him, with beautiful iridescent plumage.
I bet dat tastes nice, he thinks.

Lacedonia
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Warm, Humid, Buggy
I will take a bit of liberty on the timing here so we can move this along.
After securing the unmoving members of the group and giving suggestions on what to do next, all but Alordan hear something strange coming from behind them, back where the fight originated.
The noise sounds like a light thud, as if something dropped onto the soft mud at the edge of the river where they just came from.
Actions?
Gramble 17/24 (Paralyzed)
Alordan 19/22
Andronichishche 10/11 0/4 1st / CL, DM, RM 0/2 1st
Lerrick 17/20 3/5 1st 2/4 2nd
Maag 14/17 (Paralyzed)
Tlachtga 16/16 1/4 1st 1/3 2nd

Tlachtga
Tlachtga waves to get everyone's attention, then points to her ear and then in the direction of the noise.
She prepares her sling.

Andronichishche
Andronichishche silently nods in response to Tlachtga, but keeps his gaze on the nearby river bank and the muddy water. "I suggest activating Dansden, Mr. Alordan." He whispers. "We are unable to flee, so that may be our only refuge."

Lerrick
The cleric moves close by the bodies of Gramble and Maag with the intent to guard them in the vulnerable state. She equips her mace and gazes in the direction that the druid pointed to.

Maag
Maag strains his powerful neck muscles trying to see what Tlatchga is pointing at. Finally giving up, he emits a grunt of frustration.

Alordan crinkles his brow and peers into the distance, "What's everyone lookin' at?"
At Andron's suggestion he unceremoniously drops Maag down on the sand and pulls the wooden cube from his pocket. He notices the others readying themselves for attack. He tosses the cube a bit away from anyone so that it doesn't open up on someone's foot - or head.

Alordan tosses his most precious item onto the ground a few feet away from the assembled party. It lands in a small patch of trampled grass, but nothing else happens.
Protecting their vulnerable fighters, the group stands by, looking in the direction of the noise they just heard. On the muddy bank, they see that the capybara they shot full of arrows earlier must have regained its ability to move, as it now lays dead on its side in the muck.

Andronichishche
Andronichishche breathes an audible sigh of relief when he notices the sound they heard was the paralyzed capybara, apparently collapsed dead in the mud. "That's a good sign." He points to the jungle beaver. "Assuming it was paralyzed shortly before we saw it, Mr. Maag and Mr. Gramble should recover soon."
He looks over at the patch of grass where the inert wooden cube was tossed. "I believe you forgot to say the command word?" Andron arches an eyebrow at the ranger.

Maag
Maag does his best attempt at a sigh of relief as he hears the paralysis will be wearing off soon. Probably. However, without control of his lips, it comes out as wet burbly sound accompanied by bubbles of saliva."...brrzzzpppp..."

Andronichishche
Andronichishche peers quizically in Maag's direction, alarmed at the sudden sound the half-orc was emitting. He ensures the thief is still breathing properly before checking back on the capybara. "I would not advise attempting to retrieve it." He warns in response to Tlachtga. "Besides, the meat is likely already tainted from that ghoul's foulness."
Andron nods in approval of Alordan's answer, but walks over to touch the wooden cube on the ground. "That's correct, Mr. Alordan. However, one must be touching the cube." He utters the command word, "Dansden", then backs away onto the trail again.

Tlachtga
"Maybe we should burn it then, we don't need undead rodents running around."

None Shall Pass
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Warm, Humid, Buggy
Maag and Gramble continue to drool on themselves while the others decide to leave the dead animal they were hunting alone for now.
Andron gives Alordan an assist, reminding him how the cabin cube works by touching it and reciting the correct command word.
The cube starts to grow again, though it doesn't resume the same square form as it did last time they used it. This time the shack assumes a longer, rectangular form, adhering to the only open area where it can develop along the narrow trail. By the time it has reached its full size, it takes up the entire open area along the trail, crushing any smaller bushes and saplings at the edge of the trail, while avoiding contact with any of the larger trees.
After 10 minutes of time pass, the cabin stops growing and can be entered, though it's full size has now blocked the trail completely. Fortunately, enough time has passed for the paralyzed pair to finally start regaining the use of their faculties again.

Alordan shakes his head in amazement at the unique item. He will enter and take a closer look at it's ability to provide some defense from an undead attack.

"Now that everyone can move on their own do we head back or rest in the cabin?"

Andronichishche
Andronichishche marvels at the versatility of the cube as it conforms and adapts to the available space. He then assists Maag and Gramble into the cabin while they finish recovering from the paralysis. Noting that the structure completely blocks the path now, he carefully considers the druid's question. "Resting now would prepare us against another attack on our return, but we also need to warn the water bearers." He peers out the cabin's small window. "I'd rather not stay here through the night, even with the cabin's protection, though. Ghouls are rather cunning and may surprise us with their guile."

Tlachtga
"I think if we are heading back we need to do it with enough time so we are not traveling at night, the bugs here are ruthless."
