Re: Adventure 2.0
It never attacks more than once per day. Always during the night shift.
Re: Adventure 2.0
“We should hunt it down while it’s full. Any ideas on how we can search the ducts?”
“Just in case we don’t get it, we should try and trap it...”
He’s thinking about something now, maybe whatever this time s is an accident or byproduct... a mutation, maybe... from improperly disposed lab waste or pathogen changing a local sea slug or something like that.

Re: Adventure 2.0
Does the station have any sort of remote bot with a camera that we can send into the duct works?
Re: Adventure 2.0
“That’s what I was wondering. Even if it’s a floor cleaning robot we could fit with a camera...”

Re: Adventure 2.0
The station has no robots of any kind on hand. The heat trail is visible through the duct going up...
Re: Adventure 2.0
I will regret asking, can we fit in here?
Re: Adventure 2.0
Lloyd shrugs off his anorak, and with care tries to get into the duct, if he can fit.
“Someone check to see where this goes?”

Re: Adventure 2.0
Okay, I am going to rule that anyone with a Strength rating of 45 or better cannot fit inside the duct. The movement is going to be half walking speed at best. Also, you will have to make successful Dexterity checks to avoid getting stuck. I will also need order of entry.
Re: Adventure 2.0
Rick looks at the duct and says, "There be no way I be fitting in there."
When someone is able to print out a map of the duct system, he will attempt to follow along from the outside, going from duct to duct hopefully as the others are close to it.

Re: Adventure 2.0
Lloyd sighs, “Too much time on high gravity worlds, I won’t fit in there, or maybe too much starship food. Too bad we haven’t got a Dralasite.”
Lloyd will take his mirror out and try to attach it to the end of an extension to see if he can see anything else.”
(OOC: Lloyd is too big to fit, we need someone like Chang from Community to fit in there.)

Re: Adventure 2.0
Was the duct the blood droplets led to a return or supply air vent?
I saw mentioned that the vent has no grate on it? Is it a .5 m square opening in the floor?
We'll examine the scrapes at the base of the duct.
"Sounds like we'll need to track it via IR for its heat signature. Lloyd, you said the victim was pointing. Can you show me what he was pointing to?"
"No way I can fit in there either." Daz will pull up the facility's schematics to trace the ductwork so we know where it goes.
"It would be ideal to track it back by its heat trail if someone is small enough to fit."

Re: Adventure 2.0
The dead scientist was pointing directly at the air vent. The vents act as two way vents. They draw in the CO2 and push out the oxygen. The vent is at floor level and runs straight toward the ceiling. Make Perception checks for those who want to examine the scratches.
<OOG> T'prin's player is away from his computer until early September and has asked me to run his character until then.
T'prin Perception check [1d100] = 23
T'prin reaches down and gets a drop of blood on his finger, looks it over, smells of it. Then runs to his kit, pulls out an instrument and inserts the liquid. He then looks to the group; "This isn't blood! This is a lubricant used in robots!"

Re: Adventure 2.0
The vents run vertically from floor to ceiling. They are not inside of the walls, but stick out some from the walls themselves. If your characters were on the rec deck and looked up, they would see the venting shafts running to the walls and then straight down to floor level where the vent exit is. They then continue down through the floors to the lower levels.

“Robots...” interestinger and interestinger.
Where does this duct go when it goes ‘up’? Where’s the next place it comes out?

Re: Adventure 2.0
The next level up from this one is the living quarters, then the recreational deck.
Re: Adventure 2.0
Examining the scratches PER 55 [1d100] = 60
T'prin's discovery that the fluid is from a robot, not living organism put a whole new spin on the situation. "So a machine is harvesting blood? Why?"
Daz will want to see if the lubricant trail extends into the duct. Her next task is to map out the ductwork so we know what these ducts lead exactly. If we can find a trail in the ducts, then we can trace it as far as it goes. If we don't have someone small enough to go into the ducts, we can see if there's a member of the staff that can work with us to do so. At the very least, we can trace the path by going to the next room or level with a vent and open it up to confirm the trail still exists.

Re: Adventure 2.0
The trail extends with a drop every meter across the floor. “I doubt we will see it on vertical walls, but the branches, physics.” Lloyd will reclaim his anorak and then do another search.
[1d100] = 8
If that does not show us anything I propose we follow the duct upward to the rec level.

Re: Adventure 2.0
Your investigation of the scratches reveals nothing new. The new search reveals that whatever was leaking the lubrication is still dripping it. You think that it make make a trail you can follow on whatever level the robot exited on.
Re: Adventure 2.0
Rick asks, "So we just be needing to find the rooms connected by this duct on the other levels?"
If that is the case, he will suggest splitting into 2 groups to investigate multiple levels.
