Horsefly releases any and all of the "horses" in the stable, using his Speak with Animals to tell each one: Dese hoomans gonna eats you alive! We's here to helps youse. Run fast, tromp on any human you sees!!

When this is done, he'll head out into the courtyard, looking for guards to attack.

Any and all chaos helps, right?

Thamansa turns around to investigate the blue ball behind her when suddenly a thin ray of light appears in the room. The tiny beam is coming in from somewhere outside. It enters through the balcony and hits the blue ball directly in its center. The Bugbearess has absolutely no idea what might be happening in here now.
What direction is the beam coming from? Was Themansa able to throw a sack over the orb? Does this interrupt the beam?

Go Time! Round 4
Evening, Partly Cloudy, Warm


Shozbot rushes over to a guard standing under a gatehouse that separates the inner and outer courtyards where a bloody hand to hand battle commences. The orc is hit with a crossbow bolt from the guard atop the western wall. 2 dam

Horsefly and Kermut begin opening stalls and releasing the strange horses. The goblin tries speaking to them, but they don't seem to understand him like his snakes did. (I couldn't tell if you wanted to use a second spell slot on another SWA, since it doesn't carry over from one animal type to the next) One by one, the strange looking mounts escape the confines of the stables. Suddenly the door at the top of the stairs in the stables flies open with shouts of angry men coming from above.

Ondrake rips the gate off of its weak hinges and tosses it aside as if it were nothing. The guard standing on the inside of the makeshift portcullis turns and runs into the courtyard as two more crossbow bolts fly towards the giant from above. One of them sinks deep into Ondrake's thick neck. 4 dam He hears shouts from above, coming from even more unseen guards, something about readying the oil or some such thing.

Othrod leaps onto the pile of rubble that he caused with the powerful magic ring, bounding quickly to the top of the lowest wall. There he spots a guard and charges in to initiate combat. Carl sees another guard in the courtyard that wasn't crushed by falling debris. He moves into what is left of the inner baily and picks a fight.

Thamansa isn't sure if she should try to cover or pick up the glowing ball of blue light once the thin ray appears. When she looks out over the balcony again to locate its origin, she can tell that the beam is coming directly from the top level of the centrally located tower. The level she saw earlier with the strange clear walls. That area is all well lit with the glowing blue light as well. As the bugbear tries to determine what she should do about all of this, a shimmering woman suddenly appears on the balcony, looking out over the courtyard. The woman's hands immediately start gesticulating, as if she is about to cast a spell.

Shouting and screaming rings out among the chaos. You can now hear guards yelling back and forth, communicating positions of the invaders to one another.

Ondrake ducks near the gate so the prickly arrows can't get him just yet (I think by the map the guards are directly above him) and looks across the courtyard for another way to go.

He also yells to whoever his allies can hear "HEY!! Get these flies off my roof - or i'm going to CRUSH them myself!!!!!" Hopefully that'll scare 'em.

Ok. I didn't remember that the spell wouldn't carry over. Ignore his dialogue.

Horsefly dodges, zig-zagging towards the stairs. He's trying to get close enough to the stairs that he can slip a rattlesnake into a boot- or a shirt collar. my

Go Time! Round 4

Ondrake slips under the 10 foot wide stone bridge that spans the pair of huge gate towers, preventing the guards above from shooting at him with bolts. The giant is no stone mason, but he is pretty sure that these gates are only temporary and that the humans were in the process of reinforcing them along with the rest of the construction project. He shouts upwards to try to scare the guards and catches a hint of burning tar in the air. He sees 2 guards inside the courtyard, the one who ran away from him, and another running towards him. He also spots Othrod across the structure, fighting on the wall next to the fallen tower.

The bugbear leader takes a lucky hit from the guards sword 3 dam before chopping him in half with his prized halberd. He spies another guard on the front wall who lowers a crossbow and fires, narrowly missing his head with a bolt.

Horsefly rushes back towards the stairway and hides, awaiting an unsuspecting victim to rush past. 2 guards suddenly enter the room and descend the stable stairs. The sneaky old goblin slips one of his snakes into the second mans boot, causing him to pause for a moment and look down as the other man in front of him rushes towards the opening into the courtyard. "Hey what the....... We got a goblin over here! AAAAHHHHH!!!" He yells after the snake bites him on the leg. The other guard suddenly whips around to see what has happened to his friend, conveniently located very near the gnoll who had just disappeared against one wall.

Thamansa looks at the shimmering woman and then back to the glowing orb. She pulls out an empty sack and tosses it over the ball to cover it. This dims the blue glow slightly, but the beam of light continues to shine right through the heavy cloth. The woman on the balcony fades slightly as well, looking a bit more shadowy than she did a second ago. She finishes her spell, sending a bolt of lightning from her fingertips that shoots down towards Horny Carl, hitting him square in his massive chest. The bullish brute doesn't fall, but the shock of the lightning clearly stuns the big bullman. 24 dam :? A loud bellow can be heard coming from the direction of that blast.

Ondrake smashes his balled fist against the wall and then takes lumbers off along the tower to the left - pummeling the flea of a guard on the way - to then keep clear of the archers behind him.

Themansa tries to drag the orb away from the path of the beam—preferably far enough that the towers stone walls would interrupt line of sight from the beams origin. As she does so, she keeps a wary, bloodshot eye on the shimmering spell caster. If the caster turns to look around, Themansa will drop the sack and back away.

Is there a door into the tower to Othrod's south that access' the tower from the rampart he is on (the blue light tower)?

Othrod doesn’t see a door into the wall of the corner tower, but there is a hatch in the floor there that must lead down into the walls below. It would be a tight squeeze for the huge Bugbear.

There is a large window in the tower wall about 10 feet above the battlements that would also be a tight squeeze for him, and require an exposed climb.

Othrod will run up to within 10 feet of the tower and try to use the magic ring on the south tower, straight ahead of him. Lets see if we can do any more mass destruction.

Thamansa tugs on the ornate metal stand that the glowing orb sits on, sliding it out of the path of the beam of light. The beam follows the orb, actually penetrating the stone walls of the tower, though now the light it gives off is so weak it is barely visible to her eye. The shimmering woman on the balcony fades almost completely from view once the beam is obstructed. That visage continues her casting however, this time sending tiny darts of energy from her fingertips towards the already injured minotaur. Horny Carl takes several of the missiles into his hairy flesh, finally falling from the peppering, and becoming the first of the monsters ranks to drop.

Othrod rushes up to the south tower, hoping to collapse it next, unaware that his own sister is currently on the top floor of that structure. He holds the ring up to it and concentrates. The ring fizzles on his finger, turning from pure gold to the color of rust as he watches it have zero effect on this tower. He is then shot in the shoulder from the guard on the southern wall. 2 dam Suddenly the wooden hatch at his feet flies open and a foolish guard sticks his head up out of the hole below.

Ondrake the giant utterly destroys the foolish guard who tried to stop him from entering the courtyard. He is shot in his back before he can get completely around the next tower 1 dam where he sees another puny human heading his way brandishing a little toothpick. Two more missiles fly past the behemoth, these coming from a northern direction.

Still inside the square stable tower, Horsefly hops past the ailing guard now laying on the floor and currently dying from a snakebite. He climbs up the stairs to the door and spots the second floor of this tower. There are crates and barrels of every size in here, all stacked neatly in rows. Riding gear and other stable fare hangs from pegs along the walls. There is a long ladder in one corner that leads up to another wooden hatch in the ceiling of this level. There is a second hatch on southern wall of this level that appears to lead out onto the western ramparts.

Kermut steps out from the wall and stabs at the unsuspecting guard, hitting a thicker portion of his armor and doing him no damage. The guard turns and hacks wildly back at the now visible gnoll. 3 dam

Themansa swings the sack with all her might against the stone wall of the tower, hoping to smash to orb. (Unless the previous post is meant to demonstrate that the orb is attached ti its metal stand, in which case , she swings the stand. If the stand is too heavy to swing, she'll drag it to the balcony on the opposite side of the big blue tower, and push it over the edge.)
