Brana finds a good- sized rock that she can use as a weapon. It would do 1d4 damage, but I think she is still wearing manacles, so is at disadvantage.

Birbal, are you waiting a round to see how things develop/ get ready, or seeing Ornthalas move to attack, are you joining in?

Brana

Brana picks up the rock and moves to attack the critter.

Rock [1d20] = 14 to hit [1d4] = 3 damage

Sorry, thought we were defining actions, not actually rolling yet. Mea culpa.

Birbal will dash up to the creature and perform a flying kick:

Round One

The group advances on the wounded creature with rocks and cleaning implements, swinging. Birbal, Brana, Raknar and Ornthalas are joined by Derendil and Eldeth in attacking the thing.

Whatever it was, it was badly wounded, and it goes down quickly under the coordinated assault of the group. Derendil roars in triumph, his claws covered in the creature's black blood.

Brana

"Can someone take this rock and see if they can bust the chain on these manacles?"

You look around, and consider breaking the manacles for a moment, then hear a voice shouting down here at the floor of the cavern, off to the north...

"Hurry!! In the water!!"

The voice recognizably belongs to another prisoner, the deep gnome called Jimjar.

Hearing the shout, the elf takes a few steps that direction. That's one of the other prisoners. Sounds like he needs help- we should regroup! He begins heading toward the voice, trying to do so without being spotted until he can get the lay of the land- or the water, as the case may be.

Brana

Brana follows along, listening for the voice.

Raknar

"Looks like we're going for a swim," Raknar says quietly, following along.

Brana

"I hope not, I have iron manacles on me and Dwarves aren't famous for our swimming skills."

Birbal

Aye, a dwarf swimming is a shocking enough sight. One swimming in manicals is just shameful.

As you move forward along the edge of the large pool of water, you hear the sound of a fight breaking out up ahead, though you cannot see anything, yet.

After a moment, Sarith points ahead "I see them! They are fighting the pool's ooze!"

The combat, for the moment, is about 90 feet ahead, beyond the range of your dark vision. If you move (or double move, for dwarves) you'll be in range to see it, and maybe act more definitively.

Brana will double move and see what is going on.

Knowing that stealth is no longer a concern, the elf begins running toward the sounds of combat to see if he may be able to help.

Raknar also dashes towards the sounds of combat.

Throwing caution to the wind, you race along the edge of the pool. You see Sabyllos and Jimjar tending to a body at the edge of the pool, which you quickly realize belongs to Thoril. Shuushar, the Kuo Toa is climbing out of the pool.

Sabyllos: "Oh! You're alive! And you made it down from there! What a relief. Here, we brought as such arms and armor as we could carry."

He unties the sack of equipment, and passes it to the others. "We were in a rush, so it may not be the most well-considered assortment. And it's wet. But such were the circumstances. Ah! And a key! I see you're still manacled! Come along, I'll get you out of those things."

He then double-checks that his spider-baby is okay after the climb. "It's about time you had a name. To commemorate the moment, I think I'll call you 'Liberty.'"
