"Look see that sign. 750 good and foolish souls all on the census and importantly all on the tax register. We tiefs' have more sense under our cranium and horns than to be divulging or divesting our whereabouts and whatnots."

The tiefling goes on as they gather together spouting the latest radicals about community living, the gypsy travelling tiefs reputation for having a corner shop on every corner and still not being granted (despite being a folk hero), permission to herd goats on the village green under the full moon.

He combs his black slick hair with more Bryl-cream and strokes his goatee. "yes, I know the sheriff and bishop thinks it adds to my infernal heritage but oh, the girls do like
a more ursute man to entertain."

What do you guys think?
Like the others, I am fine either way. If you say you have a slight leaning then let's go with your preference.

I didn't realise we already had a rogue. I shall probably look at changing my character as it seems we overlap quite a bit.

I shall have to review my character again and make sure his age and backstory are in code. It sounds like I may need to change his flaw (which I'm more than happy to do) to something a little less forceful upon the game's back history.

If you want my two copper pieces, I wouldn't worry too much about having some overlap in class abilities. From the way I see it, that just means you two can relate when doing certain things. You know what's up and may even be able to coordinate certain activities together.

Edit:
Okay, the 26-year-old is now 18 and his backstory has a less tyranty past and something a little more generic. I can do either or, though I would like an opportunity to interact with the other group members before embarking on the rite of passage, even if it is only a couple of lines. I'm going off of the idea that we know each other's names at least, friendships being optional.

This.

You're welcome to change if you want, but I wouldn't worry too much about any overlap. A fighter, warlock, life cleric, and two rogues is actually pretty balanced.

I see you're starting a wizard.

Your choice, just let me know if you're fully intent on switching so I know which character to build in my footer.

One of the three pillars of 5e is social interaction, and it's listed ahead of combat (whether that was an intentional decision or not).

I'm not sure if I'm going to have time to get the game fully underway today (besides, I'm still waiting on a couple of characters to be finalized), but I I think what I'm going to do is start the game at the tail end of the parting celebration. This way, the group is ready to set off, but still able to dialogue with their fellow townsfolk (after I set the situation up, you may have questions).

Today or tomorrow, folks! :)

I gave it some thought and I think I'd be happy with switching classes if it's all the same. This means no home-cooked gourmet meals for Thalian though ;)
If there's anything wrong with the character sheet please let me know, otherwise I am ready to start whenever.
Living in an old cottage on the outskirts of town, the ageing Agrias Deepbough is who the natives of Fieldstone turn to when in need of herbal remedies, minor divinations, and cures for the myriad other small concerns that plague the average countryside commoner. Earning the affable title of "the Witch," Agrias is a gregarious pillar of the local community, in stark contrast to her adoptive granddaughter, Alessa. Naturally reclusive, the young girl lives inside her own head, and her voracious appetite for knowledge has seen her read every tome and textbook Fieldstone has to offer, and even begin work on several catalogues of her own. Indeed, there are few girls her age with as wide a breadth of knowledge; and fewer still as devoid a capacity for social interaction. It is this civil deficiency that led her grandmother to enlist her in the town's prestigious ritual, and the old woman hopes that her beloved protegee might finally come out of her shell that she may truly become her successor.

Feylynne is a Wood Elf and in the book they consider reaching adulthood to be 100. But they mature around the same age as humans. I'm thinking since the town doesn't have too many elves that she is looking to learn about the world at a very young age as opposed to being taught by her elders. She happened to swindle and ruin an undeserving person and now is on a mission to atone for her sins. She despises the unfair advantages of the powerful and wealthy and is on a mission to help the poor and powerless. Thus, she is not against stealing from the former to help the latter. She isn't too concerned about her own wealth and feels friendships are the most valuable asset.

Central... so 6 hours behind London.

It's 4:30pm here.
It's 10:30pm there.

Frustratingly, most (but not all) states do observe this silly practice. Including mine.

Eastern for me and we do observe daylight savings unfortunately. It is worth mentioning though that I can only post before and after work since they started blocking this site and since I work nights that means early and late only.

Sadly, it looks like this one won't kick off until tomorrow.

In the meantime, the Campaign ID in the die roller is 751.

Okay, so the game won't launch tonight like I was hoping. I did, however, just post some information about Fieldstone, the small town you all are from.

I should definitely be able to kick thing off for real tomorrow.

I hope this is still the case. Today has SUCKED at work.

That said, I was able to finish updating the character information for use in my footer section. Can you each take a look at your characters and confirm everything looks correct? Let me know if you spot any errors or discrepancies.

Thanks!
