It does take alot and thank you for being my first dm/player creation experiment.
Jobetett has the core rules cd which does it all practically immediately.
Shonuff has all the books and was probably prepared long before we started.

The long private messages where probably a hinderance but , hey, its my first pbp . Your help will payoff for the next ones unfamiliar with 2.5.

Ket, Sterich and iuz, (computer +1, Skuzz, NJW) will need to spend a language slot, learning what will be referred to as common greyhawk. That would be the most effecient way for the group to communicate without any translation taking place.

Is it something you want us to add now
or to role play learning a common language?

Alright, makes sense for a traveller from Ket to know, as well.

all already know it.

As for Darius, he has studied with the church and they could have taught rather recently, no problem.
Branc is mage, languages come easier. common greyhawk would probably have been his 2nd or 3rd lang learned.
Skuzz will have had to work harder at it, and may not be able to elaborate exquisite prose but can have a working knowledge.
Probably about as good as my Spanish.
"No te preocupes. Yo se hablar HalconGris comun e muy basico."
Which loosely translates to ...
"Dont worry, I know how to speak very basic common GreyHawk."

it'll be in my background, but i'm basing his grasp of the common grayhawk to be sort of like how the Count of Monte Cristo was taught.

Sitting in a cell, being a captive, he's taught by another prisoner, who wished to learn orcish.. we "shared".

No problem, you had six years with nothing else to do., add 6 years to the starting age.
It is curretnly six years since the greyhawk wars 'ended'.

Greystarr has rolled Benson's stats. Soon we may even know what he looks like. :D
Two free weapon proficiencies for him. Club and Broad Group Polearms. Greyhawk City training. ;)
Let us know if you are having troubles.
Blazeguard is leveling Thorar too.
Questions?

I'm a little stumped as to how to level up my skills. Do I get a certain number of 'points' or what? I've got the books but I haven't been able to find leveling 'instructions' yet.

It is customary to donate all of your CPs to the mages in the party, actually.

My dude is so freankin' useless that could be a more party-helpful strategy actually. I don't the GM would allow it though. ;)

Well, lots to choose from...for starters....
.....each time a thief advances a level, he is awarded 30 discretionary points to divide among those thief abilities.
Nayman gets 9 CP to spend on other growths (5 for level and 4 for roleplay)
(racial abilities/traits and disadvantages cannot be changed, - maybe later on at higher levels but not as of yet)

hitpoints will obviously increase, adjusted for any con bonus

Known non-weapon prof can be increased on one for one basis...using CP
New proficiencies will require training, ie, someone has to teach it to you...
im sure you'll have more questions but that should tide you over for at least a little while.....

(i posted this message in OOC a few days ago....let me know how much more info you need)
Blazeguard wrote:I'm a little stumped as to how to level up my skills. Do I get a certain number of 'points' or what? I've got the books but I haven't been able to find leveling 'instructions' yet.
thorar will be alot easier

5 cp for level (i can't give you bonus cp, since he was NPC prior, sorry)
more hitpoints (you gotta roll for em)
spend (or save) the cp on improving skills (class, weapon prof, nonweapon prof)
racial cannot be changed
traits and disadvantages cannot be changed (yet)
fighter thaco improves
mmmm, maybe more....ill check, but that should get you started
