This character looks great. I love the acid-tinged Dickensian tone of the two characters we have so far.

For Rumors, let me know where you heard the rumor (from the list above), and then roll a 1d8 for each.

To the player of GWAR! (I can only see character names and rolls, so I don't necessarily know who's who): Since you legitimately should receive the equipment from 14/1, but coil23 is poaching from that list, you may mix 'n match from the equipment list for 13/1.

The 13/1 list is:
Pistol (d6), Ether, Poison, Arcanum

EDIT: IF I AM NOW CAUSING ISSUES FOR OTHER PEOPLE TOO WITH MY CUSTOMISING OF EQUIPMENT I CAN GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL ASSIGNMENT (though would still like to keep the cane).

Sorry about that- I though all my changes would objectively be a step down. But I am fine with the compromise. Character description above has been changed as directed and all transferred to character sheet.

Horton would have heard rumors from others talking in the church library while he is floating around at work or possibly read in library materials as he goes about varied research of his own.

[1d8] = 8
[1d8] = 6

Every part of my character development so far has been thoroughly mired in the medieval Europe mindset. I know you said Industrial Ageish time period but I am going to have trouble remembering that most likely. Just warning you ahead of time.

No worries, re: the customization. I think we have everything squared away nicely, now.

The way the equipment list works is, the worse your scores, the better your gear, but I wouldn't worry over it too much. All flesh is grass, all breath is fleeting, and this is a spidergoat economy.

Re: milieu. Industrial age, medieval, what-have you. I'm not sweating any fine points. We can just call it "FAKE HISTORY TIMES."

Rumors for Horton Portencium (All others: upon your honor, no peeking):
THE SYBIL OF PANZOUST, A POWERFUL SEER, LIVES IN THE CASTLE. SHE ANSWERS QUESTIONS ASKED BY THOSE WHO ARE WORTHY.

INQUISITORS HAVE ENTERED THE CASTLE RECENTLY. THEY MUST BE STOPPED BEFORE THEY BRING WAR AND DESTRUCTION UPON US ALL.

The Inquisitors are exactly what their name suggests: The Church's elite band of intolerant assholes. They wear stern black clothes, pointed hats, black boots, and longswords in ornate scabbards, all adorned with buckles. They are book-burners.

I just registered on the website and have never played Play-by-Post before but have a fairly amount of gaming experience and can surely fit the requirement as I spent an awful lot of time on the Internet.
If you'll have me, I'd love to play! I had the book at hand so I rolled up a character!

Vanis Huckle, Novice Sweet-Maker (Great, but Hated for It)

STR 11 (2hp)
DEX 9
WIL 5

Remember, you can have a Companion NPC, if you wish. Roll stats, give them 1 HP and a sword.

GreyWolf, please roll 1d20 to determine what Arcanum Kurt has, and roll stats for your Lighter Boy. This is an NPC hireling, and is in addition to a Companion.

After reading's Horton's rumors I am already indignant and frightened.

Since they are to be secret I guess I will put them on the character sheet I made on my desktop but leave them off the US public sheet.

You can add Langston Overton "self-made man" & his assistant, Brick to that list. I haven't rolled him yet as I'm away from my computer until this afternoon.

They are as secret or public as you wish them to be. I generally prefer for player's to role-play the exchange of information, but sometimes this isn't fun or practical, and I'm open to everyone agreeing to hand-wave the sharing of rumors.

Welcome Gwar and the Butchness of Wrath! You'll be a fascinating pairing with our librarian and confectioner. BTW, I went to the same undergraduate art program as a bunch of the Gwar folks (I was in Illustration, they were mostly sculpture). Pour a little out for David Brockie.

And welcome Langston and Brick!

Mouse

Is a street urchin, eyes and ears of the CobbleKidz gang and opener of locks, picker of pockets and, with use if a slim blade rapier, a menacer of big folks.

He supplies a constant stream of porky pies to town crier Beaker.

Langston Overton
STR 11 DEX 13 WIL 12 HP 6

Longaxe (d8)
Rum
Bomb

Brick
STR 9 DEX 14 WIL 8 HP 1

Sword (d6)

Rumors heard in the Wood [Langston] and in the Alley [Brick]
Rumors [1d8] = 4 : [1d8] = 2

In regards to their background, I am going to let them percolate a little. The source of their rumors, however, is a pretty good start: The wood and alley.

Character Generation Rolls
STR: [3d6] = 11 DEX: [3d6] = 13 WIL: [3d6] = 12 HP: [1d6] = 6
STR: [3d6] = 9 DEX: [3d6] = 14 WIL: [3d6] = 8 HP: 1

Is there a special place where you roll dices, or a code I should use on the forum?

For the rumors, I'd like "The Kitchen" and "The Sea", as Vanis spends an awful lot of time in the company of mariners, longing for stories of distant and weird places.

I found out there's a special website to roll dice, but I'm still figuring out how to put a link to here. I rolled 1 and 1.

I picture the Phase Key as an intricately engraved brass clockwork device in the shape of a key the size of a closed fist, that oddly fits in whatever place one would try to fit it in. When turned, it does a whirring/buzzing sound and "opens" the way forward. It was found washed ashore on a rainy day.
Is that appropriate?

Shaggy Beaker

Learns the following rumours and street legends:
Church rumour [1d8] = 5 Alley rumour [1d8] = 1.

Upper right of the forums is a link to the dice roller. Click it and scroll to the bottom. You'll see a link to the user's guide. It will get you started. But basically, after you roll you'll see a list of embeddable codes. It's the first one.

I'm a few posts down the road from you. I just started this summer. You'll bumble about a little bit until you get the hang of it but this is a fantastic site. Happy to have you aboard!

Make sure you aren't in the testing area after you've created your character.myou can't save those rolls.

Go to the main dice roller screen then click on Roll The Dice. Unless you've created macros, you'll have to roll on the fly.
