Slavel wipes the blood from his face.
What would cause us this internal bleeding? He turns to Calto and speaks.
We need to get out of this place as quickly as possible!
He runs to the western door and tries to open it in order to escape this room.
I will pick spells later today, after work.

Grindhelm the Dwarf
Looking at the others, he can't help but grin a little, though slowly shows concern. "Careful down there, we don't know what's around. Any stone around, call for me and I'll take a peek. Don't push yourselves, that's mine and the larger one's job!" he chuckles a bit, patting Alex's back.

Yelling words of warning,
Siavel, followed by
Calto, move to the west doors as their noses continue to bleed profusely (
1 HP damage each.) The elven magic-user and human druid exit into a corridor that extends 30' before light fades to darkness. Both of the adventurers' noses stop bleeding.
Azoth the dark cleric sits cross-legged upon his
Meditation Rug of Corporeal Transcendence. He rises into the air and surveys the room. He does not experience any ill effects as he passes over different dioramas.
Kitchi follows
Bruno the gnome in his investigations. As Kitchi went down the hill he too felt the push, but the ranger maintains his balance. He does not see any tracks in the area. The two begin north and circle clockwise around the hill. North, beyond the black, torpid painted "river" diorama, is a marsh of putrid, bubbling waters where figures of men strive to keep their heads above the surface. As Bruno and Kitchi step on the river into the "marshes," the ranger suddenly forgets the last three minutes! Kitchi stops, looks around confused. Just north of the river into the beginning of the marshes area, both Bruno and Kitchi feel a shortness of breath come upon them and steadily get worse.
At the top of the hill
Blade Rain, Grindhelm, Tabai and
Leomar look down upon the large chamber. Tabai uses his recently learned hand signals to say this chambers dioramas represents the different regions of the underworld in the local religion. The various areas may be sacred to the original inhabitants of the time the Shrine was in use.

The acrobat will back out from the hard to breathe area, hand signalling the ranger to follow, and will continue his exploration if/once the breathlessness abates.

Azoth Al-Aziz, occultic priest:
The arcane acolyte's thirst for secret knowledge and magic power overcomes his cautious, self-preserving nature... again.
He told himself that they needed to locate powerful sorcery to use against the savage cannibal hordes. He told himself it was for the good of the party. He told himself that it was their quest here. In no time, Azoth was believing his own lies.
The dark cultist steps off the flying carpet and sets foot into the rarefied territories of Heaven. "A mortal in Paradise," he mused to himself. "What shall happen next?"

Leomar, human thief
"I'll be spending enough time in the afterlife after I do die....don't think I want to spend too much time here now," says Leomar after watching the struggles of the others. He will head out the west door after Siavel and Calto.

Slavel stares at the others that remain in the room with a quizzical look. He is tempted to call his porter again and have it take revenge on the invisible entity that likes to push people when they aren't expecting it.
Instead, he reaches into his pouch and pulls out a small leather bag that smells awful. He shakes the bag around a little and dips into it with two fingers. He pulls out a dessicated, rotting eyeball and horrifyingly enough, pops it into his mouth. He swallows the thing and, trying not to barf, peers deeply back into the room.
Lets see what horrors I can detect in here. Hopefully I can learn something useful from this strange room. If I don't keel over from the taste first, that is.

Grindhelm the Dwarf
Looking around skeptically, Grindhelm finally grasps that something is afoot. Something magical that he doesn't like. He readies his axe and prepares for whatever touches him that he can't see, planning on swinging at it if said being touches him. "Be on your toes, men. Don't let it sneak up on you. Somehow. Magical doo-dads help." He says to the others around him.

Calto, Druid
The druid will remain with Slavel outside of the room, but he will keep an eye on Azoth and his other companions in case aid is needed.
"I see nothing in this room but a trip to the land of the dead. Let's move on"
The druid smiles.
"Or burn it down."

Alex 'Blade Rain' Vam; Human male Fighter
Alex had grinned at the Dwarf's good-natured ribbing of their 'clumsy' companions, but soon, he too shared the Dwarf's uneasiness over the strange magical enchantment in this place. He kept a tight hand on both his enchanted broadsword and throwing dagger as he moved carefully through the room, keeping an alert eye and ear out for any threat that might be stalking the party....

At the south doorway
Siavel the sorcerer and
Calto the druid watch their compatriots further explore the chamber of dioramas. The elven magic-user reaches into his pouch of
Eyes of Infernal Vision, eating a large desiccated eyeball. He swallows it and almost vomits. His vision goes blurry, then clarifies into a new spectrum of sight. The wizard can see through walls! He looks beyond the north door of the chamber and sees...
For Siavel's eyes...
Azoth the occultic priest of Noden disembarks from his
Rug of Corporeal Transcendence in the grassy hunting fields beyond the west hedge. There little figures of men hunt antelope and deer. The cleric feels a sudden compulsion to stay, for here is peace and contentment. But he overcomes the urge and steps back beyond the hedges.
Bruno the gnome thief-acrobat, with
Kitchi the ranger behind him, continues his circumnavigation of searching. They pass the marshes north and move west near the icy wastes. The temperature immediately drops; items become painfully chill to the touch and their bodies cramp up from the cold (
1 HP damage each.) Bruno quickly searches but finds no concealed features or traps. He and Kitchi continue around south, where the floor opens into a model canyon down which flows a painted river of lava while flames etch the walls. Here the temperature swings upward to painful heat, searing them beyond mere discomfort (
1 HP damage each.) Again Bruno does a hasty search and turns nothing up. Moving clockwise upward to east, they encounter the stone path amid the sands. They see Azoth at the hedges, and Siavel and Calto just beyond the doorway. Amid the sands Bruno and Kitchi develop profuse nosebleeds (
1 HP damage each.) The pair search as they walk to the doorway. They find a scattering of small jewels that are hard to see against the sand. There are 16, and are probably worth 20 gp each. The pair reach the doorway and beyond, which causes the nosebleeds to stop.
Tabai, Grindhelm, and
Blade Rain continue to observe from atop the "hill" in the middle of the room.
Leomar breaks away from the pack, going down the hill south toward the stone pathway through the sands. He feels a sudden push, falls and rolls some down the hill (
1 HP damage.) Passing through the sands, he experiences a heavy nose bleed (
1 HP.) He reaches the door way, passes through, and joins Siavel and Calto. The thief's nose bleed stops.

Azoth Al-Aziz, occultic priest:
The dark cleric discovers that Heaven is a trap.
It was too much to hope otherwise.
Embittered and mirthless, he mounts his flying prayer rug and flies it to the others who have left this chamber, concentrating and softly praying to the dread, uncaring Elder Gods as he does so, " 'Ai! 'Ai! Gotha! R'luh! Ftaghu! Uaaah!"

Leomar wipes blood from his face also. "Yup, we should be going. I'm starting to like this place less and less. The sooner we find this mystical weapon or whatever it is and get out, the better."

Siavel the elven mage is astonished at the rotting eyeballs power. He begins shouting orders to the others as he has no idea how long these strange effects will last and he doesn't want to waste this incredible gift.
I can see that the single unopened door to the north hides only one small room beyond with no other exits leading out of it. I can see items on shelves in there that we may need to help us complete our quest.
I want to continue to look around over here in this direction so perhaps some of you can inspect the single room as I do so? Beware though!!! I can also see a lumpy pile of earthy material that also may be hiding something in there.
The mage doesn't even bother to wait and see if the others respond to his suggestions. He immediately begins heading down the hallway towards the secret door. He takes a long look down the first hallway and then turns to try to peer through the walls of the room that the secret door leads into. He completely ignores the pile of treasure containing what must obviously be a nasty trap.
