Fulp asks,
Want me to go back to that circle ridge and watch for movement if you pull the lever? I know you will pull it eventually.

Ciar shakes his head as he returns down the hallway, "I ain't pullin' that lever, not just yet, anyway. What if it fills up that pit with slime again or sommit? Come to think of it, I don't think we looked at the ceiling there to see if it continued in that area... Anyway, do we continue searching the cells? Or do we go check out our metal friend?"

OOC: This is all assuming something grander isn't observed when looking up in the contraption room...

Ciar looks up at the ceiling in the lever room and notices that, yes, the strange circular protrusion does originate from this area, and is connected to the contraption discovered here in this room.

Sparrow mans up and enters the room. Without touching anything, he investigates the conduit and how it is attached to the machine.

Interesting looking thing to be sure. I wonder what it is for. Is it a green slime maker or what?

I suppose we take a look at that iron man next eh?

Ciar shrugs, "That or we can finish searching the cells. Who knows what else we might find!"

Fulp declares,
I think we should head toward the end of the previous hall, checking the cells in the process.

Apologies for the delay. Today was probably one of the most non-stop, hectic days of my adult life.

I will update again tomorrow, hopefully early.

"Let's make sure we're out of the hallway if we do pull the lever. A long narrow hallway with no exits seems made for traps" says Sylvan. Those listening closely hear his voice wavering slightly.

Sparrow, without actually touching it, moves to the north wall to get a closer look at the familiar-looking conduit. The dark-skinned human confirms that the six-inch wide, semicircular stone ridge mirrors the one that runs along the ceiling in the western branch of the entry hallway. Tracking it to its source in this room, the protective shielding drops from the ceiling and runs along the back wall and down to the collection of gears and chains. At a closer look, it is apparent that there is a length of chain running from the mechanical contraption in this room and through the conduit.

Sparrow nods his head and stops his investigation.

Best leave this thing alone for now boys. If we can find the end of the ceiling tube, we will discover what this thing controls.

Ciar nods in agreement.

"Let's clear the rest of this area and then check out our metal guardian." He resumes his examination of cells, making sure to wedge the cell door open with his piton upon entering a cell and retrieving it as he leaves.

"I agree. Perhaps it releases more slime into the pits we just cleared.". Sylvan is clearly disappointed they found no clues as to how to defeat the metal man.

Or Fulp chuckles,
It probably drains the slime easily and efficiently without any dangerous fumes or hassle.

With that he starts toward the eastern end of the hallway, expecting it to curve left to the area they had earlier examined.

Content to leave the mechanical contraption alone for now, the group sets out to more carefully explore the rest of the area. After leaving the larger haunted chamber and heading east, the passage does wrap around to the left, heading north, as anticipated. When it leads to an apparent dead end, armed with the knowledge of what to look for, the group easily discovers another secret door which deposits them into the eastern area off the entrance the Ciar and Festus previous inspected.

It takes several hours, and is without further discovery, but the inspection of the walls and cells in the area does bring the group full circle.

The only obvious way to continue would be to follow the passage to the northwest. This takes you to the torture chamber, and it's through its secret door where you'll find the long, wrap-around corridor which takes you to the slime area and beyond.

Haha! That is most likely Fulp! Sparrow snorts.

Let's go and check out the pits again for any strange mechanisms we couldn't see before. Then move on to the metal man.

The group heads to, and passes through, the secret door in the torture room taking them on a wrapping journey of longer hallways and returning them to the scene of the now slime-free pit.

I will stop here temporarily in case the group wants to do anything before pressing on.

Ciar looks up to study the ceiling and see if there is anything unusual about it. If not, he crosses the ledge using the secured ropes. Once on the other side, he again studies the ceiling.

Kassel shines his light into the pit to see if anything is revealed within now the slime is gone. Perhaps a concealed exit or trap door or something.

sorry I just realised I might not be getting updates. Why does it do that sometimes? Anyway. Apologies for not realising sooner.

Fulp also looks around, especially for any inflow/outflow possibilities for the slime.
