I thought those were "scout without being detected" potions. Though, now that you mention it, they do make it easier to escape, don't they? :)

Brax "That'd take most of the fun outta it but if it makes the first level easier to pillage, plunder and traverse then so be it."

Are we destroying the caves up top or just dealing with the 1st level of the rift? Based on the communes there is a shadow area we want to avoid."

I've been following along but I must have missed something.

Where did these potions come from? Are they usable by anyone?

Cwreando's character brought them for the party to use.

Gaerys was nearly enough for both the dragon and giant. If the dragonriders attack, we kill them. Or Jinx calls lightning while they're still flying.

Gaerys has a +3 spear that someone might be able to use. One of the dwarves, perhaps?

"It would be best to use my healing spells on the ring now before the new day starts. So how many do you require?"

So whats the final plan on the ring then everyone? Hollis is ready to cast CLW into it if needed

Andor says, "Vorsyin has the ring. Right now I think it is loaded with charm monster, fire elemental and prot from evil. Work with him to decide if you want to remove the charm and load with whatever".

Date: Autumn, 432 ca., Campaign Day 14
Time: 21:00
Weather: 30 degrees (f), heavy wind, visibility ??
Location: Safe House

*********************************

The party bunkers down and plans diligently over many hours. A semblance of a plan emerges!!!

It seems that Hollis would summon the power of the Old Gods to call upon a horde of insects to plague the Rift, and certain members - a forward party - would then go, magically protected, into the Rift to rout any giants caught in the plague and scout their way to the next level of the Rift.

The heroes who would be part of a forward party seemed to be:

Arqos (PfE)
- Flam (never gets 10' away from A or simply casts PfE himself)

Jinx (repel insects)
Gaerys (who would cast PfE or repel?)

Brax (see above - note that boar needs his own spell)

[anyone else? A mage?]

The remainder of the party would remain around Hollis, who would remain concentrated on the plague. They would also be ready to face the dragonriders, who were sure to make an appearance, and any monsters driven out of the Rift.

This plan in mind, the party got ready to retire. The party had a last opportunity for spell casting or the like before the morrow would break.

We may need to leave the boars behind in the safe house caves or on the ground near the rift. As for the spear both Krom and Throm can use a spear. Brax is the only one of them that does not have a weapon prof. in spear.

Andor says, "I think it might be best for Vorsyin to remain outside the rift. You will need a strong mage to deal with the Dragon riders, but if you think it otherwise I can remain to support the others on the outside of the rift."
