[Continued] - Valorei/Elves - 2 April, 1 VC
Re: Expedition - Valorei/Elves - 2 April, 1 VC
I'll get this expedition on the road this afternoon: just indicate what direction you're traveling initially.
Re: Expedition - Valorei/Elves - 2 April, 1 VC
Thistlebottom is perfectly happy being overlooked. If things go too poorly he'll probably just hide anyway.

I see two directions we can initially go, due east, towards the unmarked hex 3 hexes from Vaul. Or North-East, towards the last unmarked known forest location.
Knowing elves I would choose North-east first, but I'm fine with going for any other suggestions or the majority vote.

"Perhaps we should begin with what we know of these supposed elven ruins,"suggests Nihilius. "Why do we suspect they exist? Where did we expect them to be?"
OOC: I'd go for either, and perhaps northeast over east. I'm a little worried that this is a question...
(Edited to remove reference to knowledge from the map which is not IC yet.)

So two votes for North-east then?
and besides, the best adventures are always the spontaneous ones! Everyone knows that

What does the agreement with the Big Bad Wolf say abou adventures to the east, anyway? Not like we should care.
Northeast is fine with Harold.

Re: Expedition - Valorei/Elves - 2 April, 1 VC
It says, "Don't go there or you'll get eaten by wolves."
Re: Expedition - Valorei/Elves - 2 April, 1 VC
I guess we'll just deal with that when we come to it!
I mean, we could head north to the woods then east, hoping to avoid Mr. Crankywolf, if we want to be all careful about it. Is there a northern boundary to where we're not supposed to go to the east?

News of the black tower has not reached town yet. It's currently trapped in the dwarf hold with the folks fleeing from undead.Marullus wrote:"Perhaps we should begin with what we know of these supposed elven ruins,"suggests Nihilius. "Why do we suspect they exist? Where did we expect them to be? I saw on the map that there are eastern dwarves, with a watchtower and a hold. As well as an Onyx Tower of some sort... what of them and where do we expect the elves to be in relation to them?"

Varas, perhaps in a contrarian mood expresses a different opinion. "Let's go due east. I believe others have gone northeast. If there is a discovery to be made, let 's tread new ground."
Re: Expedition - Valorei/Elves - 2 April, 1 VC
"I agree that we should seek new discoveries by the quickest route. Whether that is due east, or north-northeast to find the woodline expediently then east, I do not know. I believed we were following some previous bit of knowledge?" asks Nihilius.

p.s. I don't think you'd like the answer to the question of "How do we know about these elven ruins?"

Valorei speaks up, "We had learned of the presence of elves in this region from a wood spirit, chained by a druid to suffer eternally."
So 3 for north-east, 1 for due east, and 1 for don't care?

And one for starting out due north, thus staying out of the crazy Druid-Wolf's way for as long as possible, especially considering we're on a mission that's directly contrary to his interests.

three for that, changing Val's vote as well. Makes sense that Val wouldn't want to piss of the very druid that could have been the one to bind the spirit.Marullus wrote:Two for that.Zhym wrote:And one for starting out due north, thus staying out of the crazy Druid-Wolf's way for as long as possible, especially considering we're on a mission that's directly contrary to his interests.

"Well! Getting eaten by a wolf would be a very bad start indeed: I vote for north also."

Keehnelf, I think we will be going north, then east.

How far north--until you hit the forest? Will you enter the forest then go east, or just skirt the edge?
