I'll have more tonight, but my head is fried.
I've been absorbing pages and pages of enterprise risk management stuff at a major global financial institution (they are in the "too big to Fail" category). Mind numbing doesn't begin to describe it. It's fascinating, but you have to peel back several layers of meaning before you can identify what is actually going on because they don't even know themselves. They don't even know what they are hiding in their data.
We like to think that information moves like water in theory. In practice, information may be commonly liquid... but some is pure water, some is olive oil, some is murky pond scum, some is gasoline... And if you consider data quality and data through the filter of language, that only begins to explain how complicated it is to manage a large company or a government.

Also, do let me know if there is too much evil f***ery going on. It's a balancing act for me right now.
There are a lot of principles that I need to remember when I run this, and some of them are sometimes at odds.
The most important is that you are the heroes. You might not see it, and the road may be long and paved with dog shit, but it's about you & your characters in a complicated and dark place together.
...
And, yes, Lucinda uses a BlackBerry Passport. I think those are kind of cool, actually.

I'm already well out of my comfort zone with what is going on in the hallway. Which is good for this game I guess

Never in my high school years have I openly defied a teacher so much before, or put myself in harms way for that matter, and I have a feeling that this is nothing compared to what the MC has in store for the group. I guess I cannot look that far ahead into the future, so Clarence will deal with the here and now, as it should be.
I can handle more evil f---ery from the MC, if he so desires, but if you are to maintain the illusion that my character is some sort of hero of the story, one of them at least, then something is going to have to give.
----
Edit: Oh crap, its around that time again.

9-9:30 PM EST. is when I get ready for work. I will be off the grid for a good 8-9 hours or so. Will post as soon as I can!

Kind of waiting for our Faery to come back before we get too far ahead...

I don't like all these people having so many strings on me
Shut Down NPC doesn't work as you were describing... That would have been a Manipulate check. Of course, to get your XP check, you should have just punched out the guy... Or run away like a chicken. Either one

[/ooc]
I''ll be honest Q.Q, I'm not even paying attention to the XP, just having fun role playing Seth.

That's cool. Fun is the name of the game. If you don't want to run down every XP, that's fine. There's always a million valid and fun ways to approach a game like this since there's nothing that defines the winners.
I like Lucinda collecting Strings, though. I have to figure out what I can do with them all, but it's funny that she can do it.
Of course, when it's her time to go, there can be no hesitation on my part...

Ok. Definitely waiting for Keehnelf to chime in since we've done a ton of stuff.

If I were ever to do this in a non-SFW setting, it would have to be after graduation because some of this is already freaky enough.
Plus, you'd break all sorts of rules to do it purely in high school if you did lift the SFW veil, I think.

I don't know, so far everything has seemed pretty tame to me. I guess that may be just my own twisted view but eh.
Seth killing/almost killing another kid is just the beginning to this spicy feast I am trying to make

I think visiting RPOL was what did it. There are games that allow for "adult" descriptions, and then there are the other kinds of "adult" games over there. I just imagine this story line here, without the restrictions that we have here... That would be bad.
There was an advertisement for "Amsterdam Red Light District" (Monsterhearts). I don't think I could run that, myself... not to put down anyone who would play such a game, mind you. It's too far over for my tastes... but those would be what I would do, which is not everyone.

Hey guys, apologies for seeming like such a slacker. I've been on every day trying to give this a go but I just don't have the emotional energy. My wife and I found out we're pregnant with our second kid this weekend, and she has not been handling things very well since then for one reason and another.
As a result, my own stress level has been very high and I haven't been able to get myself into a headspace where I can effectively do this.
I'm really sorry, but I have to withdraw for the foreseeable future. I wish it weren't the case, but I can't tell what the timeline for things sorting themselves out on this end will look like.
Sorry as well for making you wait--I didn't want to say a thing earlier and end up being wrong about it, but it's been enough days that I can tell at this point.

No worries. Thanks for letting us know. Pregnant wife definitely has way higher priority, so congrats and good luck!

I'm getting the feeling that the party scene has ended way too quickly, or is it just me? Did I miss a whole section of it for some reason? Uhhh...maybe parties are actually short and sweet like that, don't know. I've never been to one before

The way Q.Q Elf was building it up earlier, I was really expecting something aweful to happen, inside the chapel.

MonkeyWrench took Seth out. Well, so did Metal Fatigue take Summer out of the action
While we could have gone on, it would have been hard to call it back from where it went.
Sometimes, it's misdirection. I didn't have other motives for the chapel. Not yet, anyway. Pregnancy, then birth.

Works for me I suppose. Was just wondering.

I was just following the fun bits, blame Metal Fatigue
Also, Since I got that volatile roll I think I have 2 XP marks now? Don't know but I need 5 before "leveling up"?
