Glad to hear!

Thanks, I appreciate it. I know, as a player, I always felt more involved in games that posted frequently and regularly. For me, I developed a habit of posting an update in the morning on my train commute into work, and could follow up on my commute home if needed. I wasn't always able to get that morning post out there, depending on if I had other pressing things I needed to work on, but I tried.

Cool. My last game had a player (saalaria) from the UK as well. You have some good players over there. I can never remember what the time difference is, or whether you guys are ahead or behind, but I'm glad the consistent posting helps.
I'm still not sure when I'll get my next game started, but it probably won't be too long. I'll definitely be sure to reach out and let you know.

They are six hours ahead of Central Time, Dave.
That's not nearly as bad as the difference in our DM's location on a game I'm in on another forum. He is in Australia, 15 hours ahead of me. So sometimes when he's posting at the end of the day, I'm just starting mine at work.
Edition Survey

Out of curiosity, considering my next game will most likely consist of players made up from this group, I'm interested in hearing what edition(s) you would enjoy playing next. For me, it's important that everyone follows the same set of rules (e.g. consistent page numbers for referencing), so feel free to pick from any one of the following:
It'd be helpful for me to know which edition to focus on when ultimately developing my next game idea.
If you guys could each chime in and rank the editions in order of preference, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Dave
I don't want this to get lost, so I'm moving the question to a separate thread, here: viewtopic.php?f=105&t=3202

Thanks, man. So, when I post in the morning (~9:00am CST), it's the middle of the afternoon (~3:00pm) there, right? And my ~6:00pm (CST) post would be midnight there. That's helpful to know.
Hopefully, as long as I can be consistent with my updates, players will be able to fall into the same routine. That'll be my goal.

Yep. That's why, whenever you are selecting a time zone on an app or program or PC or survey or whatever, and you locate your time zone (usually listed as "Central United States (Chicago)" or some iteration thereof, it indicates (-6GMT) after it in parenthesis. It is six hours behind Greenwich Mean Time.

You know, apparently I really miss running a game. After re-reading thirdkingdom's advice to "do as little prep work as possible," I broke down and sent Greg a PM to have him set up the forum and private sub-forums for my next game. Initially, I thought the idea of starting up again in two weeks was laughable.... now, that seems about right (if that long).
I've officially asked Greg to set up private sub-forums for each of you so let me know if you're no longer interested. If you are still on board, get ready!

Well, I might as well stick around another game...
Oh, and the reason I said two weeks was because I am at an IT conference most of next week...

I'll keep this in mind.
Maybe target the following Monday (09/29) as a potential start date?

That works well for me...looking forward to it (are we keeping the resurfaced characters)?

Nevermind, dumb question. Different rules.

No, but you're free to create another elf (and onlyme a dwarf).

Would this be a completely new game, or a continuation of the older game you mentioned with the ominously worded 'day of the festival'?

Truthfully, I'm not sure. That said, I am leaning towards it being a completely new game.

Just looking to confirm whether you're still interested in the new game I'll be launching -- probably sometime around the end of the month.
Let me know, as I need to let Greg (ToniXX) know how many private forums to create, and what to name them.
Thanks,
Dave

The forum for the new game has officially been created. It is bare now, but I'll be gradually be filling it out over the next week or two. Head on over:
