Re: Part 1: Helix
Following Mortiganto, and the others, Marcus make his way down the hall.
Re: Part 1: Helix
Dren creeps forward slowly down the corridor, checking the floor and ceiling for traps as he goes.
When he reaches an alcove or a door, he pauses and searches it for traps and/or hidden doors before moving on.
Once he has moved 60' into the corridor (to the edge of the existing view), he pauses for the others to explore behind him.

Re: Part 1: Helix
When Dren gets to the edge and signals the 'all clear', Pyrrhic moves up to the next hallway, taking a similar cover stance.
Re: Part 1: Helix
Mortiganto maintains his position beside Pyrrhic.

Re: Part 1: Helix
There are three doors and the first alcove is another hallway that ends at another door. The second alcove reveals itself to be another hallway as Dren moves forward.MrHemlocks wrote:OOC...In that 30' hall are there 3 doors and two alcoves? Not sure what I am looking at on the updated map.

Checking the doors along the hall, Dren finds no evidence of any traps. However, as Dren finishes checking the last door, he catches the sound of something approaching from the east just out of torch light.
OCC: I will be updating the maps shortly with tokens to show your positions as I understand them from the previous posts. Once posted, please let me know if there are any corrections.
OCC: That did not work as well as I had hoped. I will explore a different way of setting up a battle map. Given that the map is very old-school in design, I may just redraw it myself as a battle map with 5' squares and post that as soon as I get a moment.

Re: Part 1: Helix
Gawain will stick close to Dren protecting him while he does his thiefy things. He'll keep his sword drawn and ready to cast sleep just in case.
Re: Part 1: Helix
Dren motions to the others to warn them of the approaching danger, then attempts to hide in the shadows ....

Re: Part 1: Helix
Seeing Drens warning signs, Marcus takes shelter within the far alcove. With bow at the ready he waits for whatever it is to come within range.
You said the noises where coming from the west. Looking at my map that would mean they come from where we entered...west?

Re: Part 1: Helix
Pyrrhic heeds Dren's warning, nocking an arrow.
He peers deep into the darkness looking for any sign of what is making the noise.
I believe the map is "upside down", we entered from the east.

Re: Part 1: Helix
That's my fault, I typed west when I meant to type east. Post has been changed. The noises, which reveal themselves below, are coming from outside your torchlight down the hall where you have not ventured yet.
The noise get louder as everyone prepares themselves for the unknown. The noises quickly resolve into groans and shuffling as four zombies shamble down the hall towards you; their arms outstretched, their hands swatting or grabbing for you even though you are out of their reach.
Actions?

Re: Part 1: Helix
Dren pulls his sword and ducks into the shadows of the nearest alcove, waiting to strike the rear of the zombies when they have passed.

Pyrrhic lets an arrow fly at the shambling minions coming out of the darkness.
"Mortiganto, two-by-two blocking formation with me when they close! Unless you have a better idea."
I'll transition to sword / sword + shield (if possible) and look to form a front-line if Mortiganto agrees.

Hedric the Strange
Hedric lights the torch affixed to the end of his staff and hopes these creatures have some aversion to fire applied to their facial region.

Mortiganto nods to Pyrrhic and readies his shield and axe and forms up, prepared to attack any of the undead that should come near.

Re: Part 1: Helix
The words of his sleep spell turn to ash in his mouth as Gawain realizes that it will have no effect on the undead. Instead he will let the others take the front line, but stand sword drawn, ready to relieve them should either need to retreat.

Uto
To turn undead [2d6] = 4
Grasping his holy symbol hanging from his neck, Uto exclaims "Begone you foul creatures, youse filthy undead! I, Uto, instrument of the mighty Wotan command it!"

Re: Part 1: Helix
With a twang an arrow is released, from Marcus' recurve bow, at the front zombie. Seeing the other party members in front of him, he yells out. "Watch your backs gentlemen; I am firing my bow!"

Need attack and damage rolls please. I find the best way to do this is to put both the attack and damage roll in the same macro and post it here regardless of the outcome. This way I have the unmodified results in case there is anything going on that you as the player do not know about.MrHemlocks wrote:With a twang an arrow is released, from Marcus' recurve bow, at the front zombie. Once the round is over, I will post a summation of the round with the results and the opponents results.

Re: Part 1: Helix

As near as I can figure, this is where everyone is located based on previous posts. Please say yea or let me know the correct placement so we can get combat started. I have an attack and damage roll from Pyrrhic, I am waiting for one from Marcus. Uto attempted to turn the zombies. I believe everyone else is holding their actions till the zombies get closer?
