Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
Sorry forgot about house 2.
House 2: is shed-sized, sparsely furnished house is the home one of the townsfolk but you don't know which one. It shows no signs of anyone being there or having been there for most of the day.

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
Taking a moment to ponder the meaning of the dead man, his appearance and that of the other man. Doric stands and begins to unlatch the numerous stalls around the stables. He does not encourage any of the animals to run out, nor will he take his time to unleash any, instead, he uses his knife to cut the cords or leads that may hold them in place.
When finished, he walks over to one of the lamps, unscrews the base and pours the contents on the sleeping form. With not a look back, he tosses the lit top onto the man as he makes his way out of the stables and back into the streets. He leaves the stable door wide open to allow the steeds to run out, placing himself in a position where they will turn towards the forest and exit the town proper.
As he waits, he looks about to see who responds to the alarm of a fire and the wild mounts.

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
Stables the reaction to the fire sends the horses off and out of the stables none are harmed but most take off through the village . The passed out make wakes in shock that the stables are ablaze and he grabs around in the hay for something and comes charging out looking for the culprit. Eventually spying Doric he charges after the man/druid with his weapon [a two handed sword] and wearing chain armor that does not quite look like it fits him properly more like it might have been made to fit a man more of the dead mans stature. The burly looking man looks like he hand handle himself in a fight.

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
To have the DM reread his posting of action that Doric poured the fluid on the sleeping form and lit HIM on fire as well as the stables. But let me know if this didn't work and we'll go from thereGreyWolfVT wrote: Doric Actions?

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
Alright well that really screws this entire game up but sure. The man is not charging you he drops and rolls to douse the fire upon him when that fails he strips off the flaming clothing and armor but still will attack with his sword since it is not on fire.

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
If it screws the game, and he can wake and be combat ready so swiftly, have the oil splashed on him awake him, but him see Doric holding the lit flame and looking at him. We can move into a dialect from there. Again, I wrote actions as if nothing happened, but you are DM and can adjust things. If you want to move to the combat instead, Doric will engage him the moment he sees him rolling on the ground. He is just going to hit him while down. Neutral...neither good or bad

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
Let me rephrase that it does not entirely screw up the game it more or less add more frustration lets say and difficulty for me. With that being stated.
Stables Rephrased: the man is awakened by the oil splash and gets up furious and or curious who splashed "Egads is that oil?" he says after fishing for his weapon in the hay where he hid it apparently in his drunken stupor. He looks around and sees the body still in the hay and notices the horse stalls are opened and then noticed Doric. "What the hell? Who are you? What the hell do you think your doin.?"

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
I'm the man with the match and the one you are going to listen very carefully to. Doric holds up the light and ensures he sees the flame flickering in his hand, protected in the glass globe so it won't extinguish easy. Now, I know you want to feel important, you want to feel in charge and likely have been in most situations, but let me say, I will set you aflame and I will kill you if you don't answer my questions. Who leads your group. How many of there are you and why are you here. In that order Doric signals Zylax to enter into the stables and watch for others who might suddenly join them
Ok, we'll step back in time and work this out *Wink*

Shay
After finding nothing out with the small house, Shay was going to head towards the Inn. However, now hearing the noise from the stables, she begins to head back in that direction. I thought we were just going to pass by these buildings to see what they are she thinks to herself. Pssst, Zylax.....Rician....maybe we should go check out that commotion in the stables?

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
Inn: AT the inn you start towards the oddly only entrance door when you hear a bit of a ruckus at the stable area. You can see horses leaving the stables and suspect the druid has freed his animal friends from their captivity and it looks like there is a large man with a 2 handed sword talking to is that Doric?
Between the Inn & Stables: Everyone in mid trek between the House 2, Stables area to the Inn. Now are aware there is a live possible enemy in the stables Doric has apparently almost started a fire and horses are leaving the stables in a semi rushed manner. Nobody has seen "Crow" last known sight of him was patrolling the outside perimeter of the Inn. The potential enemy is a large man wielding a 2 handed sword yelling at Doric it would appear.
Stables: The man clearly furious with this new comer that was so bold as to splash lamp oil on him and then threaten him doesn't give much information and still bull rushes Doric. Letting nothing more than a loud RAWR! out of his mouth. Almost swear this man was part barbarian.

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
Character swap!
As the man wielding the two handed sword drunkenly rushes Doric an arrow coming out of nowhere lands firmly into the mans side. tracing the origin path of the arrow will reveal a hooded figure near the Inn, he stands around 5'11 with broad shoulders and an athletic build, his feet firmly planted and long bow extended, the string still quivering from the long shot.
Crow Long Bow: [1d20+2] = 19+2 = 21, Damage: S/M[1d6] = 5, L[1d6] = 6
He begins to knock another arrow...

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
Doric surprised by the sudden appearance of the arrow, tosses the flame against the man, but fails to contact the oil Flame[1d20] = 3
He quickly uses his quarterstaff and sweeps the man's legs as he steps back, attempting to knock him down Quarterstaff strike [1d20] = 9 damage sml/med [1d8] = 8 lg [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2
Let's do this the hard way then

Hmm lets see the range .... and a running target init time I'm afraid as cannot say the arrow happens first or not.
Init PC's[1d10] = 2 Init NPC[1d10] = 9 You guys got lucky. PC's attack first the drunk goes second.
Drunk Barbarian: Still rushing Doric doesn't appear to feel the arrow in his side.. NPC Attack[1d20] = 13 Dmg[1d10] = 9 Hits AC 5.

The hooded figure knocks another arrow and fires it rapidly, looking to down the man quickly.

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
Doric staggers back from the blow, blood pouring freely from a deep blow to the side; however, he does not give in and swings now for the man's head, striking in hopes of knocking him back
Quarterstaff strike [1d20] = 2 damage sml/med [1d8] = 4 lg [1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6
Well, I can honestly say that this dice roller sucks. I know why folks die in here. If I had personal dice like these, I'd have tossed them away a while back as being unlucky. Anyway, Doric is down to 6 hp. He lost 1 before in the goblin battle, 9 here and has a total of 16 as max. But I am not backing him off.

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
I do have to hold here to see if the others are going to try and help or not. Also there is more to add here in round 2 but the other party members need to make actions for round 1...

Re: Part 1: The Village With No Name
I've no idea how close we are to the action but.....here goes nothing.
Shay
While running up to the barbarian, Shay will cast her innate ability of suggestion on him. She stays out of the range of the mighty sword but looks directly at the man and says SURRENDER!
