We're basically all set. I just need onlyme to do a little housekeeping.

Because of the unusual introduction I have planned for the game, I will attempt to provide a 'soft' launch later today, which will basically just establish the setting and situation. I'll open the game up for the players to introduce their characters and begin to discuss their situation and immediate plans. Remember, discussion in the main 'action' threads should be performed in character.

I'll be available to answer any questions, but obviously won't advance the action again until tomorrow (or whenever onlyme has had a chance to get caught up.

spanning, if you want the other vials of oil, you're welcome to them. Otherwise, Abe is fine with the additional weight.

Regarding ranged attacks into a melee...

If someone is able to reach out and touch the enemy, I think that is probably close enough to be considered a target if someone else uses a ranged attack.

I think our group policy should be, "If in doubt, do not use a ranged attack." We are low enough level than an errant arrow in the back or sling stone in the head could easily take out any of us.

There isn't a hard and fast rule on this, so each scenario will be logically determined on a case-by-case basis. Neighboring squares on the map grid at the beginning of a round, though, is probably a pretty good indication that friendly fire is a definite possibility.

Where would you like to position yourself at the end of the round? A step (one square) over? Two steps (behind the thief)?

Behind the thief seems the logical choice.

Agreed. Perhaps my language wasn't clear, but by "clear shot" I meant no chance of hitting a party member. Mulvey wouldn't risk hitting an ally...even if that ally is a dwarf!
