Let's scale the wall first and stand back from the entrance. I'll never turn down a chance to gather extra intel.
IC XII
Re: IC XII
Rhys offers to scale one of the walls to make it to a window that allows a view inside the structure that wouldn't be visible from the main entrance.

The priest of Procan marvels at the ruined city, wondering at its by-gone citizens. They seems giants. What types of gods would such worship? He looks for signs.
"I have rope," offers Aquar. "But seem to have forgotten a grappling hook."

"Very good. Look in as many windows as you can. Perhaps we should hold a tent canvas under him in case he needs to make a quick escape?"

2:00 pm, the Forgotten City
Rhys moves northward, to the left of the main entrance, and easily scales the wall, peering into the room beyond. It is quite clearly the room on the other side of the open doorway, visible from the main entrance. Moss and a few saplings grow here, as well, although less profusely, and the litter covering the floor is not as dense. The room is roughly forty feet by forty feet and occupies the northwestern corner of the building. An open doorway looms in the eastern wall; the space beyond is dark and the mystic can make out no details. Other than that the room appears to be empty.

Re: IC XII
Rhys relays this information to the others, then climbs down and checks the next window that might show a room not yet viewed.

Re: IC XII
The only other windows visible from where the adventurers stand look into the second story. There may be more windows around the back of the building.

Then Rhys goes for a second story window.thirdkingdom wrote:The only other windows visible from where the adventurers stand look into the second story. There may be more windows around the back of the building.

There is a window immediately above the main door. Rhys is able to scale the wall beside the door, then carefully move ove to peer in the window. He beholds a great hallway, running from the front to the back of the building. The hall is at least twenty feet wide; there is a window set in the opposite wall and a stone stair leading up from below.
There are three open doorway leading from the hall. One on the right -- the same side as the hallway -- and two doorways to the left. The hall appears to be empty. It is much cleaner than the floor below, though still shows signs of age and negect.

"We should get as good a picture of this building as possible before moving on. I'm particularly looking out for stairways down into a sub level. I'm not interested in playing the roll of pest control however, so any fight that can be avoided should be avoided, including with orcs. We're here to break them up, not exterminate them. That means we need to focus on seeking out their chiefs."

2:30 pm, The Forgotten City
The building across the road is of much the same size and construction, although the stone door is intact and shut. Rhys scales up to a window and peers in. He notes that the interior structure has completely collapsed, and a huge pile of rubble dominates the room; the interior is open to the skies. A veritable forest grows amongst the rubble; many of the trees look to be half a century old or older.
2:45 pm, The Forbidden City
The next building is again of roughly the same size and shape. The massive door here stands ajar but a few feet, and muffled sounds can be heard from within. Rather ominously, the windows on the first floor have been crudely chinked in with rubble.
