Still a bit unsure as to whether she can really turn around and look safely, the process of trying to figure that out must have looked quite silly from afar. "Whew! Okay, good....he has clothing on." After checking to make sure the door was indeed properly closed, she turns to face Flynn and slowly approaches. "I've thought plenty hard about this and I've decided. I want to go with you..." she ends in a bit of silent of whisper.

Flynn becomes serious ."I've no doubt you can care for yourself. You've lived alone among this villainy. But we aren't going to pick flowers, Amber. " he sighs and takes her hands in his.
"You say you've thought on this and I respect that, I do, but we feel there is a greater evil still behind the bandits...and we mean to see this through." he moves a hand to her cheek.
"I'd not see you hurt...especially since..." he looks away.

"I will not lose another man in my life! My fatherr said the same thing before he left for the high seas, and he never came back. I.... don't want to see you vanish as well." A tear runs down her cheek as she closes her eyes. "It would hurt too much to be left alone again."

"Very well." he says, wiping her tear. "But shed no more lest ye move me as well."
He hugs her against him. You flatter me, risking so much when we've spent so little time together... alone." he releases her and smiles.
"But sadly we've no time now for such pleasant moments. I hear my comrades making ready and time is short. We must go."

She smiles, her face now beaming in a warm happiness. If their faces were any closer, things might have gotten dangerous. Luckily for her, the sounds of rallying men are heard and Flynn answers their call. She follows and in doing so makes a promise to herself, a promise to keep forever. Looking upon Flynn as he exits the room, she finally notices the bouquet next to the door. A tear rolls down again, but this time, out of happiness.

Whitsell makes his way down through the tunnel, Captain Hal catching up to him shortly after entering. He explains to him that the rest of the group just entered the mountain and that he needed to take care of some things with the town mayor. The descent is uneventful for the most part. You two stop by the treasure room and notice the soldiers and adventurers at work, hauling chests full of gold and items out of the room, all of their faces beaming with ecstatic pleasure. Laywin nods towards Whitsell and shouts from the doorway, "It looks like you got your plate mail anyways, good for you! Sure glad we tagged along with you guys, look at all of this gold!" Another adventurer, Mial chimes in as well. "Yeah, talk about hitting two birds with one stone. We swept away the bandits and made a tiny fortune, win win!"

The bandit prisoner can be found helping one of the soldiers carrying a chest, he appears disinterested in what is going on, but also relieved that he is still alive.

Now remember folks, these items had homes. We need to find their rightful owners. Also, we believe there is a boy locked away down here that needs our help.

The prisoner just shakes his head as he says quite plainly, "yeah there was a boy alright. We kept him shackled in one of them mountain dungeon rooms, along with that barbaric elf as well. I wasn't in charge of watching them so I don't know where they could be."

"Did I tell you to stop moving you filthy bandit," barks the soldier carrying the other end of the chest. "Keep moving!" The prisoner then just shrugs and starts to move again.

Captain Hal nods and says that it can be done. "Lump! I've got good news for you, you get to help out again, isn't that great!?" The captain then smiles a knowing smile at Whitsell as Lump approaches. He indeed looks like he is in good condition, better than some in fact.

"Sir, it would be a pleasure to work with Sir Whitsell again, sir!"

"Good, just what I wanted to hear! It would appear as if the bandits treachery is still unfinished; they have prisoners of their own locked away in the mountain. You are to let Whitsell's group know of this and help them find them. When you do, you will follow Deceidon's orders. He has a good head on his shoulders and will tell you right. That is all, dismissed!" With a salute, Lump slings his pack over his shoulder again and marches back towards the bandit camp.

Captain Hal then turns to Whitsell once more and says in a hurried tone, "I think that will be enough for now. Let us take haste and proceed to the town. I need to warn the mayor of what is going on and help find a way out of this place, for the people's sake, and you need to rejoin your comrades soon, am I right?"

The band of soldiers and hired adventurers make it back to town, hauling out chests of valuables and food into town. Captain Hal breaks away from the group and heads over to the town hall to take care of business. Whitsell then heads over to the smithy to pay a quick visit. With damaged plate mail in hand, he presents it to the smith. At first he is glad to see a familiar face return and smiles while giving a wave, but as he sees the bloody and damaged platemail, his smile stops short and he looks to Whitsell with a sorrowful expression. "The poor lad did not make it?"

Whitsell laughs to quickly relieve the smith.

No my good man. Your handywork saved him from danger. The man who used to own this, however... well... lets just say the town should see a drop in crime after this morning... the bandit raids are no more, my friend. Any chance of getting this repaired and refitted? I need to get back as soon as possible.

The smith is mightily relieved upon hearing Whitsell's message and starts to get excited when he is told of their success. "This is FANTASTIC news! Our community owes you a great debt my friend. The plate mail? I will drop everything and have it ready for you within a few hours, free of charge of course!" The smithy then gets to work on the plate mail with an ecstatic expression on his face, news is surely to spread now of the group's accomplishment. Now all that is left for Whitsell to take care of is his own injuries.

3 hours of rest will be needed for your wound to start healing naturally. Considering the fact that you sustained a critical sword strike wound, you will probably need to clean it with some cool water and apply some basic salve to it, bandaging it up with clean cloth for good measure. If you are going to be taking care of it by yourself, you will need to clean your hands with soap and water to prevent any infection. Most of the needed supplies can be bought at a general goods store, the boiled water from a tavern. After having treated your wound with said items and resting for 3 hours without doing any strenous activities, you will be combat ready again. It won't open up again unless you recieve another critical hit from an enemy or environmental object or trap.

Cloth (per 10 sq. yds.)
Common 7 gp 10 lbs.

Soap (per lb.) 5 sp 1 lbs.

Salve (3 applications that heal one hit point) 5 gp

Or you know, as Grognardsw pointed out earlier, you could just use your cure light wounds magic in private.

logic being...he has to wait 3-4 hours for the plate anyway. might as well not tip his skills to anyone controlling this world who may can detect magic...


also...what is the status of Whitsell's spells? I haven't kept up and am not 100% knowledgeable on them. ie, how many would he have now that he has leveled up, and do I have to pick some or are they random?

With your character being a level 4 fighter cleric, you would currently have knowledge of 5 1st level spells, and 4 2nd level spells, thanks to the bonus spells obtained through your high wisdom skill. When you hit level 5 in cleric, you can access 2 level 3 spells instead of just one. You currently have 3 first level spells listed on your sheet, two CLW and one Command. Feel free to swap any of them out for new ones as you update your spell list.

Your attempt at treating the wound was an automatic success during those 3 hours of rest. You regain 1 hit point due to the applied salve. Your character is wrapped in lots of clean cloth now, like a bandaged up warrior after a battle. Most of the characters won't see this though if you are wearing your plate mail armor, which should be done after resting. It has the stats of regular plate mail, -7, has its weight decreased from 45 to 30 lbs. and your movement rate with the armor on is now 90 ft instead of 60.

If we are to follow logic right now when considering the overlapping of in-game events, you will not be able to join the group until they are about 3-4 hours into the mountain. With that said, you will need to wait for a bit until they get far enough in there thread, short of me speeding up time manually, fast forwarding everyone, but I'd rather not do that.
