so a couple of quick questions for you guys. How is the pace so far? Want to bump it up to once a day or keep it at every other day? Somewhere in between? There will be more action now (dice rolling and all of that), just as a heads up.

My vote is once a day. I forget, do we roll the dice or you?

How about three per day? ;)

As long as you post within 5 minutes after I do, I think the timing should be variable...

 you guys are great. It's settled then. At least once a day until circumstances change. The dice rolling will be a joint effort. I will roll for things that dms usually roll for, like thief skill checks, navigation, monster spawns and their initiative, ecetera; the players will roll for their own initiative, attacks and saving throws. I think its pretty straightforward.

Oh, that reminds me, do you guys want a group initiative roll, alternating the person who rolls, or individual rolls? Both systems have their merits, and I'm fine with either one, so I will ultimately leave it up to you guys.

I've no preference as long as if one person rolls for the group they are consistently available.

Group is fine. Just accept the first one rolled regardless of player. If two roll, you cam tell a time stamp somewhere to resolve...

I've noticed that some of us are using thac0 for damage modifiers. Though, I have not read anything about that in the OSRIC player handbook, I am all for that system. If it is to be used, I will have to remind everyone that for every class, the starting thac0 is 20. You do not get any modifiers to your attack damage and to hit until your class reaches the appropriate thac0 level (warrior getting +1 at level 2, thief/rogue getting +1 at level 3, magic user/wizard getting +1 at level 4, and priest/cleric getting +2 instead of 1 at level 4)

The system is simple enough, but I see some players at thac0 19 already as a level 1. Is this something that was just overlooked or am forgetting something myself?

If the thac0 system is going to be a mainstay for this campaign, I will need to know now so that I can also factor that in for any enemy encounters in the future.

I thought it was only visual differences in how to calculate to hit. It shouldn't change the numbers needed either way.

At least I think that...

Consistency within the rules is always better, particulary for DMs trying to keep track of it all. If OSRIC is the system, we should go by its charts.

I included my strength and specialization bonuses to hit in the THAC0, rather than putting a + after the die roll.
Doesn't matter to me though, whichever way you prefer.

Okay, Sorry about the confusion everyone! After taking another look at the definition of THAC0  , I realized that I was overcomplicating things in my head, maybe. OSRIC does indeed have information pertaining to that, its just that the tables were not listed as THAC0 specifically. My reason for the confusion is that in some of the other games I played, THAC0 scores were used mainly for damage and to hit bonuses when leveling up a character, not as a visual cue of "did my attack go through?"

Now that I've got it all sorted out on my end, I will get back to you all with the combat results, sorry for the delay!

By tomorrow, I will definitely move along the campaign. I was giving everyone a chance to post within our posting requirements, but I understand that posting each day is easier said than done. So for those that are waiting, thank you for your patience.
