If it doesn't quite match up, don't fret. Just go for it.mavikfelna wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 7:47 pmI had a merchant venture success that gave me a promotion that coincides with your risk a fortune event. There is a bit of equipment buying to do, but the characters are pretty well done. If you haven't started tagging others for your two connections, go for it.
Re: The Venture Fortuna's Lounge
How many connections do we get?
For some reason my brain says two, but I may be wrong.

I'll finish reading the Sourcebook today (lots of good information in there) and expect Act 1 of the adventure in the next few days. Once I have that, we'll kick things off and I'll read as we start. Almost there...

Why don't you take a moment to introduce your characters here before we get rolling? That would save needing to do it there.
Re: The Venture Fortuna's Lounge
Selet Davril is a 39 year old Cassildan deck officer and pilot.
Cassildans are known for two things: their height and their affection for swordplay. Selet does not disappoint on either account. He's over 7 ft. tall and is often seen practicing fencing forms in the crew lounge every couple of days if things are not busy.
His homeworld is a system on the Antares /Core border and he's been plying the trade routes of Core Sector for Achenaar/Antilles Lines for the 16 or so. In conversation you've found out that he is an Imperial Army veteran, though he doesn't talk about that experience all that much.
Otherwise he's affable, competent, and is given to take the lead if the situation calls for it. He's also pretty funny at parties.

Also, some of us have spoken about enemies, rivals, allies, and contacts that you might have gotten in character generation. Even for the ones that are settled, I'll send a PM about them so that we can settle the details prior to start of play. I want to be ready to spring them on you when the time is right.

Re: The Venture Fortuna's Lounge
Erasmus is a citizen of Ushba Sind / Core, a Imperial world where animals are brought to to live. People are not usually allowed to visit the planet. He grew up very rural, his family are low paid observers and supplemented income with running a general store and medical care. He got a scholarship for art and after that he joined the navy for 2 terms, tried to live as a artist and was a one hit wonder and moved to large cargo haulers. He figures he has enough experience to upgrade to a high passage ship. He still works at artistry in his spare times. He found that passengers like to have a carved copy of the ship they were on, so he continues working there. He looks forward to a nice high prestige job and see where it goes.

"Little Erma"thinks of herself as a normal Aslan female, but in all honesty she really isn't. She has never been anywhere near Aslan space and is fairly Imperialized. She grew up in space, aboard her family's far trader. When she was old enough, she went to university and excelled in pre-med but found she wanted to follow a different route after graduating. For the next 20 years she kicked around from various clan owned free and far traders doing a bit of everything but mostly handling hospitality. She learned about the Venture Fortuna while browsing for work as she contemplated what she wanted to next and decided to take a chance and see if could get hired on. She is 46.

I went to university for performing arts. That would make a perfect connection. I was also in the entertainer/performer career during my fourth term.ateno wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 12:57 pm I have finished, mostly. I have room for one other connection:

Also to note, Erma likes to dress up, but she has zero fashion sense. She couldn't color coordinate to save her life and if it's more complicated than a ship's suit she's going to put the wrong top with the wrong bottom and think it looks interesting. And she loves cravats.

Can I have a purple steward's uniform with a white blouse and a pink cravat?

We can, but mavikfelna has first request on my terms. Term 2 is spoken for and Term 5 is his if he wants it.

If it works with you, then I think we're good. It was a successful business venture for me and risky gamble for you that worked out. I have been known to smuggle a little, maybe you got a line on a nice artifact and I was able to carry it successfully for you?ateno wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 1:46 amSounds good, let me know.mavikfelna wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 7:47 pmI had a merchant venture success that gave me a promotion that coincides with your risk a fortune event. Terry, do we get a contact skill? Would Carouse or Recon be ok to take if so?

I would like the Persuade skill Terry. OKmavikfelna wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 1:57 amIf it works with you, then I think we're good. Arvil Shuugushmi is a native of Aashma C00056A-9, Iradu Subsector, Dagudashaag Sector 2602
He is slightly taller than average with a strong and dexterous build. Arvil has dark hair worn over his ears and brown eyes. His skin is darker as well representing his Vilani heritage. Arvil is considered good-looking and charismatic with a keen wit and well educated mind.
Born to a family of Belters, Arvid excelled in mathematics and music and was awarded a prestigious scholarship for music and languages at the University of Interstellar Harmony on nearby Likhukam. Graduating with honors in both the study of Vilani literature and Terran music composition, Arvid quickly became a very popular performer in the Core Sector. One of his works became a multi-Iridium seller gaining him a healthy income and widespread notoriety. When widespread food and air riots broke out on his own world Arvil was outspoken in both organizing relief and criticizing the existing government. With the help of friends and other concerned citizens he was directly involved in the overthrow of the government and the replacement by Imperial and Sector troops. Figuring that it was best to depart the scene rather than face arrest and probable death Arvil departed on a highly successful Sector wide performance. At the end of the performance amid threats to his life Arvil accepted a position as steward and entertainer aboard a passenger liner to lay low for a while.

Re: The Venture Fortuna's Lounge
I had a smuggling event in my 6th term. I could have done some gun running for your revolution if that matches up. Also had a bankruptcy in my 4th term, maybe invested poorly in your project after your iridium seller that fell through?helvorn wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 2:25 am Arvil Shuugushmi is a native of Aashma C00056A-9, Iradu Subsector, Dagudashaag Sector 2602
