Aneq could carry the message, right? And JJh and company should have time to do at least a little scouting over the pass. A few real goals; to show solidarity with Borderton, to introduce combined arms army, and to get with Tylar and help pull him out of his funk.

He certainly can, and is the best for it. Aneq knows the Maesters of Vornhill and has spent his entire life on the grasslands. And such is his experience that he chooses to take the road and not risk crossing the 'open green'. He an ride easily and make it to Vornhill in 5 days, 4 if he doesn't stop for the night in Ravenswell or Springkeep, or 3 if he rides hard. That is all on his own mounts which he certainly prefers, but if JJh insists he will temper his pride and accept a change of horse at Atwood and Springkeep on the way (Ravenswell can't help in this unfortunately).
