Is there a response on this? A roll needed?Marullus wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 3:30 pm Lharzin is glad they were able to intercept this timely interloper before he could loot a dwarven heritage site. She lets the others decide the human's fate and returns to the room with the spectral energy, attempting to commune with it and learn more of its nature and their path regarding it.

I read this and then missed replying. A % roll is required.
Re: New Beginings
Lharzin seems to loose connection to any sense of time or space. She knows where she is, but sees it unlike before. Like it is alive. In her head she hears the deep voice of the stone.
"Speaker of Stones, I know you from long ago but you are new once more. You come to late, much to late. Dark deeds done. The stones that once lived now slumber, awaiting the return of your people."
Lharzin seems to float through the caverns and passages of a long abandoned Khuzdul city. Destruction lay everywhere. Skeletons of the long dead lay bare on the floor. Darkness moves as if alive through the great halls. The sense of evil hangs over it.
"You have awakened the slumbering key, soon something will come looking for it. Act, prepare or flee, decide quickly the sands are running."

Re: New Beginings
(Do we have an actual key? Or is that allegorical?)
Re: New Beginings
I assume it is reference to this post
Re: New Beginings
Yup, that one. Good question though as Prescience often requires interpretation.
Re: New Beginings
Lharzin starts muttering and mumbling and it looks like she might fall down as she starts to sway on her feet. Everyone notices.
Murgar, from across the room. "Quick I think she is having a vision, don't let her fall!"

Re: New Beginings
Lharzin comes to in their arms, shaken.
"Kiraz awaits the return of our people, it is time. If we don't do so, great evil will grow there and hatch onto this earth."
"For now, we must flee," she says in a marked turn of her opinions, "The darkness knows we have this key, now, and it comes for it. We must get it far from here... to a place where I can bring word to the King, like with my birds in Burzin. Perhaps the bargain with the human king there is more timely than expected."

Beryl
Beryl does not like the logic of Lharzin, but given what she knows that he does not leads him to agree with her assessment.

Re: New Beginings
Algrim merely listens to the mutterings having very little to say about the vision.

Re: New Beginings
Murgar tries to comfort Lharzin. "It is all right, we are safe for now. Try to focus and commit the vision to memory."

"Is shame. Was looking forward to a few cozy nights here before we find way home. So, which way out? Way we came or through way Fisk came? Then we go to Azadmere if closer than home?"

"Azadmere? We are nowhere near Azadmere. The Thardic Republic is the closest civilized area. We will need to get through the foul spawn and barbarians first. I have never been to eastern Harn so not sure how far that really is."

"If we found the Heartstone here, I could open it to Azadmere... I thought that was perhaps the best route before. But the spirit of evil that fills it there is what we must warn the other dwarves of first. Once I get to send word to my... King, perhaps we could decide on Kiraz or back to crossing the whole isle."
(Is it faster to go by ship or by road to get back? Do we have an idea what the fastest place I could send word from would be?)

Re: New Beginings
There is definitely not a Godstone here. Which I think is what you mean by Heartstone. There is one at the heart of Kiraz, which is somewhere near here, probably within a few days walk. But it was sealed before the last king left. Unsealing it might prove difficult.Marullus wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 1:30 am "If we found the Heartstone here, I could open it to Azadmere... The closest civilized land is the Thardic Republic and could be a months journey depending on how things go. Significantly quicker if everything goes well but none of you know the route so a month would be a good estimate. From there a ship to Thay would be the fastest way back. From Thay it is less than a week, maybe in bad conditions a week (10 days) to the outpost in Cybisa. Less to Burzyn where you have the means to send a message to Azadmere. It is possible you might find someone in Tharda that could get a message to Azadmere much faster by esoteric means. Likely a Savoryan mage. Murgar is a Savoryan mage and might be able to help you find one able to send a message that far. He doesn't have a spell for it but might have a spell another mage might want to exchange for sending a message. A messenger pigeon might be available, but it is a very long way across Harn and odds of it not making it that far are probably high. A little bit of research in Tharda might also lead you to another closer Godstone, but all of them are risky to use and most difficult to reach as well.
