Catching up, I'll bring both PCs and see how it goes...
You hear the dwarf chuffing up the trail at a jog before he comes into view. Naugrim enters the clearing, joining Black Wolf as he asks his question. "Black Wolf, you say? An interesting monniker indeed - you shall have to tell me the tale of how you acquired it. But, is this the house of Uncle Beto, as it were? Oh my... the door... it seems we're a bit late and a hobnail short..."
"Shhhh!" hisses the half-sized herbalist, Willow appearing at the wood's edge where you swear she wasn't a moment before. "This way, we can join the others. They're not far."
(Preserving the right of Ulfgar, Wendel and Fergus to act on the goblins first, but assuming we're coming right after.)

Black Wolf, Naugrim, and Willow at the Cottage.
The three new comers turn to the trail leading into the brush at the edge of The Old Forest and begin moving through it. They see the tracks left by quite a few folk and what look like drag marks where someone was being dragged.
OOC: Pause a moment so we can see what the other group does. If they make enough noise you'll be able to hear them, if they don't...we'll see.

The voices are not far away, only around that group of trees a few feet from where you have paused. They don't seem to know you are here and you know there are at least two of them and there could be more.

Ulfgar signals with his hand to ready your axe and then once he sees them getting a weapon or spell ready he will try to sneak up on the goblins to smack them with his axe.
Let me know if you need any rolls.

Fergus nods, and slips his hand to his sword pommel.
Fergus knows he is not very good at sneaking so he will let Ulfgar go first, and does his best to follow behind quietly, ready to bash some goblin heads.

The wizard brings forward in his mind the formula for his Magic Missile spell, ready to cast. He nods at the two in front and gestures them forward with a flick of his hands.
He will follow behind the warriors, ready to cast his spell when he gets a target.

Willow is quiet and efficient in the forest, holding her bow and leading the loquatious dwarf and sober warrior to reach the others, only shushing again if necessary. w
Naugrim bobs his head, listening attentively to Black Wolf's response as they follow the small woman. He hrmmms within his beard, considering if the warrior is pulling his leg, but decides that the man is earnest...

Ulfgar, Wendel and Fergus and the Goblins
Ulfgar and Fergus try to be stealthy as they move around the bend in the trail, but they can't surprise Goblins!
Rounding the bend, they see a pair of scruffy beasts with long pointed ears and green skin squatting on one side of the trail near to you. They immediately stand and point spears at the approaching heroes. On the other side of the trail, back farther are another pair of the creatures, these have short bows.
OOC: We're going into combat mode so Rex and shaidar Roll Initiative (1d20+DEX) for your PCs. All PCs go then Goblins go.
OOC: If I don't hear from everyone by tonight, I'll roll for you, but I'd rather you roll. We'll see how this goes, later we might try simultaneous actions where everyone posts and I organize things by logical order in the background, but for now let's go RAW and use Initiative Order.

OOC: Not for a couple of rounds. Hopefully, this will move pretty fast and I'll get you three with the first group quickly, but you are a further back. It's going to be rounds: 1. hear them, 2. hustle to reach them, 3. join the fight.

OOC: Wow! 5 4 4! Very low rolls for init, well maybe the combat will be better.
After I rolled it off, the order is:
Fergus <---your turn, post what you want Fergus to do
Ulfgar
Wendel
Goblins
OOC: Quick review:
- In a round you can do one move and one action.
- Move can be from one zone to another, ie. far <--> near, near <-->close
- No opportunity attacks, so movement is not constrained
- Action can be attack with melee, ranged, or spell (or something else if you want)
Currently: Fergus, Ulfgar and Wendel are
Near to two Goblin Spearmen and
Far from two Goblin Bowmen.
Give me your actions.

Great Axe [1d20+3]=19+3=22 to hit [1d8+2]=3+2=5 damage

"Cordis Quaesitor!"

Ulfgar, Wendel and Fergus and the Goblins
Round 1
Fergus draws his sword and attacks the goblin nearest him. With a grunt, the small creature blocks Fergus' swing with the shaft of its spear and shows its teeth in a grin spitting out in Common,
"Die you will, Human!"
Still grinning the monster thrusts his spear at Fergus
Goblin: [1d20]=15, Spear: [1d6]=1 poking right through his armor and into his torso.
"Run away Human!" growls the Goblin as it pulls out the spear and prepares to strike again.
Ulfgar charges the other goblin with a spear. His Great Axe whistles as it descends on the creature, cleaving through it's torso from shoulder to navel. The Goblin falls without, even, a chance to cry out.
Wendel, the wizard steps out from behind some foliage and recites the formula for his magic missile spell:
His right hand jabs out towards one the goblins with a bow, fingers splayed: "Cordis Quaesitor!" A glowing stone forms in front of his fingers and darts off striking the target squarely in the chest. The creatures is thrown back and falls to the ground dead!
The remaining Goblin Bowman pulls a hunting horn to its lips and blows.
"Aooooooo!" sounds through the dark forest.
OOC: I liked the Cordis Quaesitor!
End of Round 1: 1 Goblin spearman and 1 Goblin bowman remaining.
