The Gam'A Zone 20D/82 (Morning)
Angling for a better view, Max and Kurot produce their spyglasses and direct them at the obscured figure. It is indeed a humanoid with a canine head, just how a member of the Corpus Coyoti Clans would appear.
As Max shifts to increase the magnification, he dislodges a loose patch of earth and stone causing it to cascade down the slope. The individual appears to turn just before it disappears. Suddenly, various two-foot black orbs drop out of the sky and dart about the hillside, aggressively provoking a response yet maintaining a safe distance.

Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
Max ducks back down for cover. Oops!
This is the second time Max has alerted the enemy trying to be clever. Hopefully we don’t lose another awesome fellow PC fighting these things.

The Gam'A Zone 20D/82 (Morning)
The sky orbs rise and disappear after a few minutes, never making contact with anything. This distraction has served to allow the dog-headed individual to vanish from sight, and no apparent atmospheric or surface disturbance can be seen from your vantage point.

Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
Max pops back up and watches the horizon.
Either they’re gone or they’re setting a trap for us. I say we head onward.

Silvestri
"We might as well move on, but warily. They know know we know, so there is no point in trying another trap."

Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
Agreed, agrees Denslow. As I am slowest, I’ll take point.

Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
Maybe we should wait for cover of darkness? Their sensors did not seem to find us in the day, they may not be that advanced.
Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
"I suppose it's worth a try," says Kurot. "But if they're also able to watch us from farther away than we can watch them, I'm not confident that darkness would make that much difference."

Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
I figure if they have trouble seeing us in the day they'll have the same trouble at night too. But I am ready if you are.
Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
The next post will be up this weekend.
Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
The Gam’A Zone 20D/82 (Morning)
After a thorough scan of the horizon for any disturbances indicative of your sleuthing followers, you cautiously set off to the south. To mix things up, you pretend to set up camp and then force march for several hours under the cover of darkness hoping the campfire, left behind, distracts the pursuers.
The Gam’A Zone 21D/82 (Evening)
You rest on the morning of the 21st, just south of the beehive tower. Thoughts of foraging for the valuable honey enters the discussion, but you decide to press on into the valley of the tunnels and a more lucrative bounty.
On approaching the valley’s edge, you sense the presence of activity. Down in the fungal valley is an encampment with a dozen or so Apemonn humanoids mingling about, appearing to have begun an expedition into your intended tunnel entrance ”A”. Avoiding being detected, you back off and discuss a course of action.

Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
Where is our vantage point/party location currently?
Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
Max says, I say we off ‘em. I can’t stand those guys. They hounded me for days when I was younger. And now they’re trying to take our stuff? No way!
Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
Denslow says, Perhaps we can parlay with them. I’m not the best talker but perhaps we can come to an agreement.

Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
If they're going in maybe all we have to do is wait for them to come out with our stuff.
Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
Re: CHAPTER 14: Retrace the Tunnels
Denslow says, we can tell to them to try to parley. If they are hostile then I can bombard them with exploding fruit while you hold them off at the pass.

The Apemonn of the Monki Kingdom are less belligerent than Pigmonn. They appear to be an organized band; not bandits or wandering renegades, albeit far from their home.
