Wes approaches Darklin on the beach. "A little bird told me that you would like to come along on the mission to scout the Stoneguts." Wes lifts Regan the parrot from his shoulder and holds him on his finger. He leaves Darklin to wonder if a little bird really did tell the druid about his interest.

"You're more than welcome. In fact if you talk to Chauncey, I believe he can make you invisible before we leave. That should keep you a little bit safer too".

"Darklin... yes, well, you are certainly welcome to join us. Tell me, do you enjoy danger, fantastic reward and being in the presence of greatness? If you've answered 'yes' to any of these questions, this mission may be a good fit for you," says Chauncey.

"Have we met? I am, Chauncey, the Adequate, the Most Powerful Magic User On the Island!" he says. "And it's true, I can render you quite unseen through the use of my magical prowess... er, tomorrow. In this party we've got Wesley, wily master of Unfathomable Nature Magic (no one knows how he does it) Grimm, who does... you know... Dwarf things, and myself, skills as stated. Tell me, what particular skill set are you working with, so we can fit you into our thrilling and devious plan of infiltration?"

A voice comes from behind both the druid and the most powerful mage on the island. "Aye! I do dwarf things. Unlike those pricks without honour we're going to visit!"

I am very interested in the Stoneguts. Well Met Wes. The took 2 of my friends hostage and killed a third. I would like to find out what happened to the two that survived and possible free them.

No we have not met but your name proceeds you. I have heard talk around town. Yes, I have no trouble with danger and invisibility would be excellent. I too am a Mage of sorts, but my spell count is lacking so I rely on my skills with the bow and blade for now. Maybe we might trade some spells when we have down time. I have a few good ones to trade. I and interested in the Dwarves as I had a small run in with the Dwarves when I first arrived they killed one of my friends and took two hostage. We were sent here to find a Library and some Huge stone obelisks but that seems like such a long time ago.

"Stone obelisks and libraries, huh? That sounds interesting." The dwarf rubs his heavily bearded chin and eyes Wes and Chauncey. "And your hate for the Stoneguts is mutual. Hopefully your friends are slaves now, which is the most probable if they haven't been killed. I arrived with them as their thrall and managed to flee when they were setting up their camp, so I don't know that much about it, but I have something to settle with them."

To The Dwarves
Starday, 27th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Overcast, Warm, Buggy

On the morning of their departure, the party of four appears more than ready to set out on their newest mission. Though they would like to have a few more along, they have decided that they will go "forth" with what they have and see how things go.

The invisible dwarf Grim tries to get everyone assembled, but his current condition only ends up scaring the crap out of most of the unknowing people he has contact with.

The group discuss their options over a quick breakfast, wondering if they should head out up the beach with the other groups, or head out on their own instead.

"I assume that going across the jungle is not really and option for you, is it? It's slow and dangerous.

But, I've heard that the Stoneguts are building some sort of watchtower at the beginning of the loggers trail. If we go from Beachtown, getting there first by walking on the beach, we'll have to go around that tower through the forest and that is to me the best we've got.

What do you think, oh, wise spell casters?"

"It's not ideal," Wes responds. "But hopefully you'll all still be invisible. And I can move faster than the dwarves through the jungle."

"There's one other thing that, if Obad Hai wills, may help us. We're in good favor with the phanaton. In fact, we have to stop and pick up Chwee at the logger's hut before we go to the mine. If the word has got as far as the tribe around the village, they may help us get around that watchtower."

Grimm slaps his face again. "It's true! I completely forgot about the Phanaton! Good thing to have them on our side.

I hope we can convince the natives some day to stop hunting and eating them..." He sighs.

Darklin

So we are going to Beachtown first? Nice. I can refill my quivers from my tent and be ready to move. I need to stop and look in on a friends belonging too. He didnt make it back from the last mission. Think he had some chainmail there that might come in handy later on.

"So, shall I now render Darklin and myself invisible – all that I can manage for today, I'm afraid – and we then follow Wesley, as the remaining visible person?" says Chauncey. "Otherwise it will be the invisible following the invisible, as they say."

Assuming they consent, he will follow this plan and begin his incantations.

"You'll be out of incantations? I hate to say this but, maybe we should wait another day?"

"Only the most potent sort, Grimm. I shall still have access to quite astounding magic. You've seen me summon a Disposable Mule from the very earth, haven't you? It's frankly impressive," says Chauncey, quite unruffled, "We could make our way to the meeting point with Chwee and then rest again, at which point I shall be able to cast my most wondrous spells yet again."

"I can manage with out it, if you wish to save your spells. An elf in the wild is close to invisible."

To The Dwarves

After breakfast, Chauncey suggests that he now make himself and Darklin as invisible as Grimm, but Darklin suggests that an elf in the wild is already practically invisible.

The mage thinks this over for a moment, wondering why someone would decline such wonderous powers.

With everyone seemingly ready to head out, it appears the dwarf will have a difficult leadership decision to make right from the start.

"You said it master Darklin, nearly invisible! We have to be completely invisible. So better start yet and then we all follow the druid until we meet with Chwee. If we find a place to rest there, you'll be able to get your spells back there."

"You should take it," says Wes matter-of-factly. "I would, if there were another one available. But of the two of us, I can move faster through the jungle than humans, elves, dwarves or any other folk. And Obad-Hai's magic will protect me from a lot of the animals out there".

"I can take care of myself a lot better than you, no offense. Obad-Hai watches over me".

Relents to the groups decision and will except the spell.

Ok, Let me have it. I am new to this area so will default to your knowledge. There are no more Pirates in this area are there?
The last Pirate camp almost killed the whole group I was with. .

"We dispose of pirates whole long houses at a time," says Chauncey, snapping his fingers and, you suspect, trying to sound "tough." Still, he does have a strange and unsettling look in his eye, as if recalling a fond memory...

"Wise choice, Darklin. Now hold still. Stand just here. Just so, yes," says the mage, lightly maneuvering the elf into place. Then, with a few arcane gestures, he is gone between blinks.

"Splendid!" he says, looking over where his handiwork would be if it were visible, "I myself have never 'taken the plunge,' if you will, so this is all very exciting." He performs a similar incantation, but with each hand playing the opposite part, and then he also disappears.

"Odd. The temptation to play pranks is almost immediate," he says aloud, his voice emanating from thin air.
