I am slowly completing the forum and adding 'the finishing touches'. Then I will open the threads so you may all post.
Presently we have a dozen people expressing interest and I will view the characters sheets later.
Please keep the questions coming and remember to read through any additions I make to such House Rules or Deities & Magic.

Loving the house rule touches and tweaks to mages and cleric. I think the spell casting rolls for mages could work well and allow them to function beyond torchbearers.

Trying to balance mages as traditionally they are under powered and no one wants to cast 'magic missile' once then twiddle thumbs.
Hopefully the adjustment adds some extra positive dynamic.

I will view the sheets later but you can introduce your character in the Helix settlement tavern thread.

quote:"I will update the cleric topic here with the tables. But in short a good cleric may turn undead on a successful roll vs the creature type and cause a random number to move away for 3-12 rounds or in the case of higher level clerics, destroy them."
That was the essence of my question- I wasn't sure what turning does but since I'm required by my religion to utterly destroy undead I was wondering how that works with turning. Still trying to obtain a copy of the 1st ed DMG

Ok. So you can download a free pdf online if needed.
Turning Undead is basically your charisma and strength of will empowered by your faith to compel the restless undead to obey your authority. Depending on your class level and the HD level or ability of the undead, you may 'turn' them (they run away), slay them instantly by the power of your word or destroy them to ashes.
You roll a d20 against a target number, success means you turn a certain amount, failure means you are ignored.

I have just edited the 1st Brazen Strumpet Tavern post to include drinks, food and lodging prices.
Just post what you order and deduct amount from your coinage.

Hey everyone! I think I might finally be ready to join!
You folks aren’t wasting any time here, eh?
I hope there is still a plot hook left for me to screw up.

Plenty in the first tavern post, the bulletin board or what you create yourselves.

Well actually Dalin thought he was near Orgoth and Vann Hector listening to them talk more or less at the bar is where he thought they were located.
So really Dalin is more or less using his training and experience to observe the room and those near him before jumping into anything. Esp if we don't know any of the other characters.

No, the verandah is on the street front outside. The beggar went there to eat and you three went outside to feed him. Then you posted Dalin going back inside to the bar.
Seem to have cross posted. You can edit you last post. I didn't notice your ten foot pole and I think Sven has gone to chat with the group noted in my first tavern thread. You can chat with them too of course or another group, chat to staff, explore village, get to know other characters.

I think the problems is all the moving all over the place I thought most were at the bar some went to a table and I didn't realise Alastar was outside as originally it sounded like he was inside the tavern....
