OOC Discussion
Re: OOC Discussion
You don't realize how much you rely on electricity until you don't have it. After Hurricane Sandy in 2012, we didn't have power for 10 days. It was like being in the stone age. No cooking, no heating, no phone, no PC, no stores open, gas pumps and ATMs can't operate. My office got power back before our house did, so had to go to work. My usual 1-hour commute took 4 hours each way. And when I'd get home, my wife and kids were still sitting in the dark with only candles.

I'm just checking on the status of this game since there hasn't been an update in it for over a month. It can easily be archived and restored at a future date if needed.

Re: OOC Discussion
Sorry, I really owe a response here... Life has really gotten in the way.
If I can't manage to update by the beginning of next week, maybe it's time to archive it, but let's see if I can get back moving this week.

Admin Note:
I will play the role of the bad guy here by taking this decision off your plate by archiving this one. Just let us know when you're ready to run this one again and it can easily be restored.

Re: OOC Discussion
I did actually post an update:
And was waiting for the 3rd player's response...ffilz wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:31 pm Let's get this moving again...
Unless anyone wants to do anything in Takayama, you spend the night at the inn uneventfully and hit the trail again the next morning. You are all provisioned up for the trip so unless someone needed something only available in a city I don't think there's a need for anything.
I have rolled one more rumor overheard while dining:
The lords of Etchu province are secretly gathering their troops for war.
But I dunno, this one just isn't flowing for me as easily so maybe it's time to just let it go.
I think I would have better luck with Bushido as a face to face (or at least web cam to web cam) game.
Re: OOC Discussion
That's embarrassing. I only checked this OOC thread -- but not the rest of the game forum -- for an update.ffilz wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 6:06 pm I did actually post an update:

Totally your call, man. I can easily unarchive the game -- just let me know.

Re: OOC Discussion
I dunno, players, what do you think? I know I've been slow, and the shift over the past year and a half of my daily schedule has made it harder to keep up with play by post games and so far, Bushido isn't rolling as easily for me as other games. On the other hand, I really am interested in giving it a good spin. If you're up for it, I'll really make an effort to do at least one update a week to keep it moving.dmw71 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 6:40 pmThat's embarrassing. Re: OOC Discussion
I'm in, if it won't become too much of a burden for you. It should be something you enjoy doing, not something you feel obligated to do. Or if you want to play rather than GM, I can run a campaign.

Re: OOC Discussion
Like jemmus said, I'm in if you want to run it still, but if it's more of an obligation than a pleasure, don't feel pressured.
Also my interest is piqued on what jemmus would run in your stead.

Re: OOC Discussion
I've reactivated this game.
I couldn't remember exactly where in the list of games this one previously existed so it currently resides at the bottom of the list. If someone does happen to recall where the game was, I can easily move it -- just let me know.

Re: OOC Discussion
Thanks. Bottom is fine, easy to find... And there hasn't been as much movement with the change to grouping games by GM so my games stopped migrating closer to the top... (prior to that change, and prior to my ending my Traveller game it had crept pretty close to the top).
Re: OOC Discussion
I could run one of the published modules, likely with some homebrew thrown in. Two of them seem well designed for inserting homebrew content. But that would only be if or someday when people have extra time, and it wouldn't interfere with their posting in this game.

Re: OOC Discussion
I'd be game for trying Bushido as a player as well as as a GM. I find player responses are much easier for me so I wouldn't bog down a game.jemmus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:04 pmI could run one of the published modules, likely with some homebrew thrown in. Given continued interest in this campaign, I'm going to make an effort to keep it going. I really do want to give Bushido a try from the GM's seat. I think things will start moving better once you get up into the mountains and there's a bit more excitement...
Re: OOC Discussion
OK, sounds good. Has anyone who is interested in another game already played the "Honor Bound" module/adventure?

Re: OOC Discussion
I know nothing of Bushido other than the rule books I acquired.
