Speaks the aside to Nalani as she asks regarding his thoughts on Tiberius .
"Well I met Officer O'Hare, during my post-grad days during the Touchdown rebellions. I was drafted into uniform. Not the one I wanted, I always set my heart on a gung-ho career in the military not law enforcement.
Enforcement was the word, riot squad and drug busts. He was different though. Enrolled in the police to 'protect and serve'. Loved the badge. And the gun. He taught me to shoot on the range. Hours he practised. Pinging silhouettes of mobsters. Headshots, all in a straight line.
We both left around the same time. My draft finished and I joined the marines. Tiberius hung up his uniform too. Went undercover agent I heard. Certainly a lot of extra judicial killings on 'the ones who got away' from the law happened in succeeding months. Headshots ...
Not sure what happened in intervening years. Made his fortune to invest and bought his Queen shares from Hebden Cull while he was liquidating assets after the Queen got seized.
He came off The Nightingale far trader which was a cargo hauler to scientific spacelabs on the outer rims. Met him at the hotel bar. Seems the same guy I knew from a decade earlier. A bit of a hustler, happy go lucky. Thinks outside the box. Probably better at keeping a poker face than you if he has secrets."
That's probably the sort of reference he would give.
