The ship rests comfortably in the Up Port's dock. There is some chatter on the radio, none of any particular interest until a text message pops up from a local passenger broker asking for the ship's next port of call and if there are any low/mid/upper berths available.

"You look wonderful, my Captain," Zaki says with a grin. She takes the tray of coffee mugs to the galley, and then goes to watch the inspectors, in case they interact with the passengers.

A flexible umbilical snakes out and connects magnetically with the ship's hatch and shortly afterwards, the lights on the air/lock go from red to green and you open the hatch.

Two people step through the hatch, a tall man in civilian clothing and a woman in the uniform of the Port Authority.

"Assistant Port Director Johnson." says the woman. stepping forward with her hand out to shake, "This is Doctor Makey."

"Welcome to Extolay. I understand from the local LSP Factor that you have some personnel for them aboard. I think, Mister Carson will be here in a few minutes to met with the LSP people. I recommend you do your business here rather than down on the surface." Johnson says with a slight pursing of lips, "There is a labor action going on at the port and the surrounding city that is making conditions there a bit uncomfortable at the moment."

"As such, do you have any contraband to report?" asks Johnson with a slight smile.

"Or any medical problems to report?" chips in Doctor Makey with an accompanying grin.

Zaki sighs. "One of our engineers passed away from unknown causes during the trip. I'm a nurse, so I'm not qualified to determine a cause of death."

(Which, I believe, is low berths only - due to the Corporate "block booking" of the other staterooms).

Carlos says, "On it, Skipper" and logs into the local net to see about selling the shrimp and other cargo we scammed up.

Carlos see a Red flag pop up when he lists the shrimp for sale. It's a warning that Jenghe shrimp is very dangerous to a few people who are allergic to it and the warning must be put on all lots sold or there might be liability issues.

Whoever is looking at the comms sees several messages come in.

1. An automated message from LSP requesting a list of freight for delivery and a contact number for their broker who will make a bid on any speculative cargoes.

2. A message from Krause Import/Export requesting a meeting to discuss any cargoes you are offering for sale and the location of your next stop and any cargo space you have.

3. The passenger broker is Douglas Zeem and he has 4 people wanting passage to Phlume that are willing to pay 1500 cr each for a low passage out if you can accommodate them this week.

OOC: The mortgage needs to be paid to your bank and that is LSP's internal bank. The salaries should be distributed to the crew (although with the death this number is lower) either in cash or on I-Cards (see below). Your banker will probably insist the maintenance money be kept in a separate account so it will be when your annual maintenance is done.

I-Cards are the typical way travellers carry their money from system to system, especially if they might be stopping in extra-imperial systems. I-Cards store value physically as small beads of Iridium (beads are available in 20 and 100 cr denominations) and can hold up to 10,000 cr in each small card. The cards (credit card dimensions and about 6mm thick) can transfer value directly from card to card or "cashed" or loaded at any Imperial system Starport C+ (and many D ports as well) and at all banks inside the Imperium and most banks within a subsector or two of Imperial borders.[/

OOC: How about once Pedro gets rid of the Starport Authority he walks over to the section of the Up Port that the Imperial Navy occupies and sees if a ISS office is attached. There often is, even if there is no separate Scout Base in the system. He might pick up some scuttlebutt about the system and surrounding area...

Chandra's body is collected with the Doctor saying it was probably an allergy reaction, but the autopsy will tell.

Other than that the Doctor has nothing else for you and the Port Captain and Doctor leave just as the local LSP Chief shows up. He meets with both Sir Baltus and one of his companions who go off together carrying luggage.

Sigrun offers to accompany Pedro on his visit to the ISS office. She doesn't seem overly enamoured with the idea but offers nonetheless.

"Kapiten, I will accompany you to visit the Imperial Navy and Scout Service. I promise not to talk to any of them out of turn".
