Without looking to confirm, there is one usual suspect for such things (LFP postings on other forums)... rredmond

Followed this thread from a link over at the C&C forums. I would be interested as well.

I just picked up the 5th Edition from their Kickstarter project and am currently learning the ropes by running a game for my kids.

I would also like to play if you have an opening. Never played C&C but own the books and have read the rules. Thanks!

I am going to go ahead and call this enrollment, LFP, interest check, whatever CLOSED. I need to figure out how to get a campaign thread/board started with ToniXX, I haven't even looked into how that works yet :)

Thankfully, I have had more interest than I thought I would. It makes me want to start another game if I can handle it. The modules for this campaign say 4 – 6 1st-level adventurers, but give advice for if more people are playing, so it shouldn't be a problem to go 7-8 to play, but it may get weird if any more play.

Alright, here is the current status. I know it's a holiday, so I am going to give people some time.

max_vale - CONFIRMED
Vargr1105 - CONFIRMED
NJWilliam - CONFIRMED
Dogma - CONFIRMED
Mondego - CONFIRMED
ToniXX - Maybe
moorcrys - CONFIRMED
Blazeguard - CONFIRMED
jdluna - AWAITING

Waiting list:

A NOTE ON RACE/CLASS/ROLE
So far, it looks like I have a Multiclassed Half-Orc Cleric/Rogue (I am working with this person to ensure this works out, more on that later). So, it looks like the "normal" roles, are still open. I want to ensure we have a good balance of characters and aren't missing any of the typical roles to keep TPKs or odd scenarios from happening :) But, it looks like we have enough people to where we can double-up or experiment. Keep in mind that this campaign starts with characters adventuring in a frontier land, and we are likely to start with "The newly formed party (coming from adjacent areas/towns/settlements) is traveling to a settlement to help with the problems they are having (mostly for wealth and experience, some sort of moral obligation, the tenets of their deity demands it, etc. -- unless we can think of a better motivation together).

ALIGNMENT RESTRICTIONS
No evil characters. Chaotic Neutral (my personal favorite most of the time when I play) is as non-good as you can go.

BACKGROUND/FLUFF/ETC.
Let's make this a fun RP experience. Get your noodle working on a good character concept. I don't want to only hack and slash our way through this, let's strive to make this a campaign we will remember and want to play for multiple adventures. What do you guys think of using this as a template to get some juices flowing? http://dndga.me/files/10-minute_PC_back ... pstart.doc

A NOTE ON MULTICLASSING
So far, we have one player (max_vale) who is wanting to Multiclass because of a character concept that he already had in mind. Because the "stock" multiclassing rules in C&C are SO different from D&D/AD&D/etc. (it slows down character progression by less than half) I have adopted an alternate system from some OGL content that seems acceptable and seems to keep things from getting too out of whack in a party where all characters are not multiclassing and the campaign isn't specifically built for it. That being said: I kindof want to discourage multiclassing unless you have a really good character concept that you have already been thinking about and/or you are really married to the idea. I want to keep this as simple as possible and allow people to learn the system, but, I don't want to squash ideas or have people play something they don't want to play. Also, if you propose multiclassing, the concept has to "work" -- Currently, our only multiclassed character is a Cleric/Rogue combo and seems rather odd on the surface, but I am working to make sure that the deity that is being chosen "WORKS" for this concept (for example: I have suggested an fabricated orcish god based on a native american god of thievery and trickery.)

Edit: Added Vargr1105's confirmation
Edit: Removed ToniXX and added jdluna (awaiting confirmation)

I'm going to get the book just to check it out, but I don't think I'll be able to play in your game, Mithrander. You can take me off your list and give the slot to someone else. I'd rather seem some new people getting involved, and your game has garnered some interest from new members to our forums here.

Thanks and let me know when you're ready to go and I'll set up your forum.

Hate to see you go, maybe next time! We can probably go ahead and get the thread set up to start talking about character creation, etc. Thanks!

Stay tuned, guys. Still waiting on the campaign to be added to the forums. I assume that people are getting back in the swing of things after the holiday, so please be patient.

In the meantime, you can PM me any thoughts on your character concept, questions, etc. Please do not roll stats yet, we will be using the Unseen Servant Dice Roller, and we need a campaign ID to tie all of that stuff together (it comes with the setup.)

Can't wait to start!

Does the Umbrage Saga take place in any specific setting? And is there anything really different from the standard AD&D fantasy norm about it

The setting for the campaign is called Aihrde. It's the de-facto standard for the system. There isn't anything really "nonstandard" about the races/classes from what you would recognize or what's in the PHB, but demi-humans may have some (mostly passive) historical flavor to them about their origins, etc. If you plan on playing anything other than a human, I will forward on the setting-specific descriptions of the race for you.

The pantheon is also specific to the setting, as you would expect. So if you wanted to be a cleric of <input-standard-fantasy-domain> I will provide the detail on that too.

If you are interested in diving in and being more immersive in your backstory or what have you, the "After Winter's Dark" folio describes the history of the setting, its people, cosmology/deities, and provides regional information and wouldn't spoil any of the adventure per se, with the exception of being able to metagame some of the motivations behind NPCs or creatures, etc. if you know what deity they follow, etc. I expect that I will explain some of this stuff as we go, if it is necessary to fill in things that your character would know from being an inhabitant of the world.
