Re: OOC and Q&A
I'm not really sure what to do myself getting these bad rolls isn't helping my character or his "henchman"

Re: OOC and Q&A
You can run Cedric anytime and if you want to run Humfrey well Sheamus is out of action go ahead. My plan was for Cedric if I run him is to help Rodbert restrain Sheamus. From Humfrey and Earnest's position it looks like the Demon is going for the pit not Ingvar.

Re: OOC and Q&A
I tried that but the roll was terrible remember? I figured Cedric was falling now too.

Not falling just unable to grab Sheamus.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Ok, thinking about this and looking over the rules, I am going to go through where we are at by round since I managed to confuse myself as well (maybe).
Round 1,
1. Attacks by surprise/backstab, nothing happens
2. Spells and spell like effects, Demon uses unique charm on Sheamus
3. Missiles, nothing happens
4. Melee and other, nothing happens
5. Movement, Sheamus starts moving towards pit
Round 2,
1. Attacks by surprise/backstab, nothing happens
2. Spells and spell like effects, nothing happens
3. Missiles, nothing happens
4. Melee and other, Cedrick misses and Rodbert tackles Sheamus
5. Movement, Ingvar starts towards pit
Round ,
1. Attacks by surprise/backstab, Demon kills Solvi
We are here, so far Ingvar will attack in the melee phase, Rodbert calls for Cedricks & Earnests help, Earnest will move in movement phase to help Rodbert
I need actions from Cedrick & Humfrey (if Ed wants to choose, otherwise I will)
Note that sometimes you can perform multiple things as long as they are different phases and makes since. Example Rodbert could use his Light ability in the Spell like effects phase (2) and restrain Sheamus in the Melee phase (4) but I would rule can't move because he is restraining Sheamus.
I will also note that Humfrey, Earnest and Ingvar have observed that the Demon is moving towards the pit after killing Solvi (another words he has declared his action for the move phase)
I think this helped me to figure out where we are at. I still need initiative rolls for some.

Re: OOC and Q&A
If Cedrick chooses to help restrain Sheamus or grab Sheamus and start dragging them away from the pit I will need an initiative roll but not a to hit roll, since Rodbert has Sheamus already restrained and Sheamus isn't actively fighting him, just trying to move towards the pit.

Sure thing. Did you have his stats somewhere? Never mind I found it and it appears he has the same init as Sheamus.Rex wrote:Missed it, thanks.

Re: OOC and Q&A
It must have not posted, weird. I will re-post.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Presumably the demon is at the bottom of the sinkhole. But there is no way we could attack it there, since it's going to be pitch black underwater and it would be impossible to find it. So unless it drowns, it is just going to get away.
Honestly I could have tried to block it's passage but I had no idea it is just going to run away again.
Question: the wall of the sinkhole that extends down to the water, what is the slope? Is there something to stand on or support a person near the edge of the water?

Re: OOC and Q&A
The walls are near vertical. Both Rodbert and Humfrey have light spells available to them.
Re: OOC and Q&A
If I had also realized that the creature was heading to the sinkhole, I would have definitely done something different.
Let me know if you want to use a light.

Re: OOC and Q&A
Humfrey can also cast Resist Cold up to 3 times (if the water is a concern).

Harnworld question: would there be any reason to think that looting the tribute could make you cursed or bring bad luck or whatever?

Re: OOC and Q&A
I think it would depend upon the character and their ideals/personality & beliefs. Sheamus is leery of such actions and will not participate in that kind of act.alver wrote:Harnworld question: would there be any reason to think that looting the tribute could make you cursed or bring bad luck or whatever?

Re: OOC and Q&A
I agree with GreyWolfVT, more of how you want to play your character. Nothing in particular to the setting. It is not a consecrated grave in that since, but certainly a mass grave of sorts. The Nolah was clearly not interested in the treasure since he left it where it fell but removed the bodies and left the bones on the end of the island and there are a lot of bones. The bones show plenty of teeth marks so not hard to figure out he was feeding on the bodies.
