Will return to their little farm and retrieve his scythe. Meaning to make quick work of clearing some bamboo for use as building materials. As they walk and are clearly out of earshot, he will ask Joe. What do you know of those stones, my apprentice? I am eager for your thoughts. he didn't want to tip his slow friend into knowing he distrusted the lawman, so he said nothing about his suspicions. Please, understand my questions about Mr. Nehru should never be repeated. I was testing our good constable on something, and he passed. Leave it at that.

Joe looks confused or a very long time, trying to process what Liam has told him. Eventually he just nods and agrees not to mention it.
"Those stones aint right, I tells ya. They don't seem ta blong here. Least I aint never seen anything like em nearby. I don't rightly know what to make of em, boss."
He pauses for a long time, as if he doesn't rally want to say anymore.
"Spose we could take a walk up the trail a short ways. Maybe figure out where they're coming from? But.......lot of folk say it aint safe out in the jungle."

Nods a bit. For now we work. Here... I will show you what we need to do... she shows Joe how to cut the bamboo off at 4' increments using the axe. Once they are cut he is to toss them to Liam who hammers them into the ground about a foot, flush against the edges of the hole they have dug out to stabilize the edges from collapsing in on them, driving the bamboo in a full foot.
there. Now the earth itself will help keep the inside of our little project a bit cooler. What do you think? Tomorrow we can begin placing the first support pylons for the roof and frame at the corners.
Then the walls will go up fast.

Joe looks around at the amount of work it will take to complete such a task. He sighs heavily.
"Sorry boss but, what the heck er we a'doing here? I heard you tells Mr. Caleb that the barn was yer biggest concern. But now wees juss working on this house? Or, is this the barn?"
"I's confused."

Liam
Smiles but not condescending. He wants to truly point out that Joe is right. You are very right! But there are two things to consider. The first... Reythan, though he is a very understanding and accommodating host... is surely ready to have his home back to himself. This will be a spot for me lie down at night and leave him to his prayers in peace. As to the barn, we are waiting for our friend, the Druid Wes to come speak to the Natives that live in the nearby trees so we can gain permission for a space to build it and cut timber for the project. We want to be good neighbors, not bothersome ones.
He will continue to work through the day, working to get the corner posts up, burying them down about 1.5 feet and packing the dirt back into and around the hole, letting them stick up into the air an additional 8.5 feet. Once that is done, it is likely time to feed, milk, and check for eggs.
Tonight is Liam, Reythan, and Liam's turn. They will keep a share of milk and if there is a few eggs, they will keep those as well to supplement their rations.
At sundown, Liam will go to the Beehive and check on them. If it seems all the bees are inside, he will go get a large leaf from the nearby foliage and tear off a workable piece and roll it tight before using it as a stopper on the hive entrance to attempt keeping the native insects out of it overnight.

Joe nods, understanding.
The man works hard during the days construction, but never really excels at any one task. Once it is time to tend to the animals again though, he displays his worth and more. He is becoming a real expert in animal handling and care, taking on tasks without guidance or help.
“Ya know, I kin take me a turn on watch duty anytime so’n you ain’t gotta pull double duty every night there, boss.”

He smiles on Joe. I am very happy with your hard work my dear apprentice. And the attention and dedication you have shown my animals. You are proving my trust in you was well founded. And proving your naysayers wrong. I will trust you with a shift tonight.

Joe beams with pride, ready to show everyone that he really can be trusted.
”I kin take yer last shift fer ya there boss. I’d be right happy to prove my worth to ye!”
The men get back to their hard work and make good progress on the foundation of Liam’s new home. They break later in the day to enjoy a good meal, supplemented with fresh milk and eggs, the fruits of all the hard work they’ve done so far.
”Kin I go with ye ta check on yer bees later, boss?”

At the humble apiary, Liam sees much of the same as he did before. His bees are being invaded by the overabundance of native island insects. There is no improvement in the hives and more bees lay dead around the ground there.
The beekeeper carefully does what he can for them, teaching his apprentice tidbits along the way. Once darkness begins to settle in, Liam folds thick green fronds onto makeshift doors to keep his bees inside safe, and block the killer bugs from getting in. He secretly hopes that Marge and company will have his screens done very soon.

Marge hears about Liam's plan to fetch more water in the morning.
"There you go again, putting others needs in front of your own, Liam! The barrels are still at nearly full capacity. So we wont be going to the river tomorrow."
Raythan agrees to watch for the next ship to come in so the letters can be delivered back to the mainland.
Joe beams with pride once he is told that he can take over responsibility of Liam's animals.

Liam smiles to Marge. fair. Feel free to use Jack and the Wagon at your own descression.
To Joe. he quizzes the young man on general instruction for the animals and leaves instructions with him,
Raythen, and Caleb with instructions for caring for the bees and how to put on the swarm suit as well.

Marge replies. "Thank you, Liam. I will make sure they are both cared for appropriately. You just make sure you come back to us in one piece!"
Raythan, Joe, and Caleb take all of their instruction seriously, also worried for the helpful handyman going off on his first adventure here.
The bees survival on this bug infested island is still a bit up in the air. Their condition hasn't worsened, yet. But it hasn't noticeably improved either.
Despite that fact, the lanky human feels confident that his new friends can hold down his endeavors for a day or two in his absence.

He nods to Marge. Yes, Ma'am. and offers her a kiss for good luck and winks at her rakishly. Other than what he carries on her person for the trip, he shows her and the others where all his various gear and goods are trusting them to make good use of it and using the checkout system he proposed earlier. He takes his money to Raythen and then Caleb so two people are carrying one half, and ask them us use it as they see fit if something should come up.

Jaxsen Reiter
Jaxsen follows Raythan's advice and seeks out Liam. Not finding him, the young Monk goes over the fencing and corrals, makes the acquaintance of the other people who have been helping already and tries to tighten up loose boards, drive posts in snugger, make sure the stock is fed and watered. Anything he can see that needs improvement, he will work to improve or repair.
And then he will discover the hives......
Jaxsen will spend several minutes just listening to the hives. The sound seems an almost holy thing to him, relaxing, meditative, even. Then, as though something in the sound spoke to him, he goes to work. He begins to work on raising and narrowing the bases of the hives, making it more difficult for walking and climbing predators to get to them.
He goes over to the fishermen's area and collects sections of worn out netting. 'Too weak for fish maybe, but strong enough for what I need.' he says to himself. He then begins taking the nets and precisely tightening the weave with bits of string, eventually closing it to the point where the bees can come and go, but nothing larger can pass through. He spends the day and into the evening working on the weave, listening to the humming of the hives, humming along and mixing prayers to Bralm with the rhythms as he works. His focus is intense and he works quickly yet carefully, making sure of the size of the weave is exactly what he wants to defend the hives from any larger predators. When he is happy with the weave, he allows himself to stop and set them aside. He eats and drinks, finally, before going through his evening exercises, ritual bathing and devotions in the dark.
The next morning, Jax gets up gathers some bamboo. He avoids the strongest sections as they will be needed for other things, and just takes pieces strong enough to support the netting. He then begins to dig holes and set the bamboo stakes around the hives, just tall enough to allow the netting to protect them without touching them. He ties the sections tightly, making the frame as strong as it can be given the materials at hand. When he is happy with it, he will take the sections of netting and lay them over and across the frame, careful to overlap the sections, knowing that gaps will be found.
When the project is complete, Jax enters the framework and begins to remove the predators already inside. He is careful not to kill them, knowing that they, too, are the Queen's Children. Finally, he sits down beside the hives and allows himself an hour of meditation, relaxing in the sussurant hum of the hives. When he finally gets up to leave, he is careful to make his devotions. "Thank you, O Queen, for this gift. I shall endeavor to protect these lost Children, and work even harder for your edification."
OM, I am guessing this should be wrapped up by lunchtime on Day 12. But if you think longer, just let me know.
I will need to wait to see what fate befalls Liam in his current mission, but this was pretty awesome!

He smiles and wants to run to the familiar face of Marge and give her a hug but he is simply worn out and knows it will still be a long day. Marge! Good to see you, Love! Things went horribly wrong! We need to call a meeting of leaders immediately! I cannot explain yet... we need to get Caleb and any other elders or Guild Masters together. We need to meet privately first and then tell the townsfolk...
Where is Reythan? We also need a Druid... Oh, this is Daisey and Sophie. We came across them on our first night while lost in the jungle north of here. She proved more than helpful and frankly, I think she saved our sorry lot.
Looking at Hrothgar and Daisy. Listen... we don't want to cause a panic... things have not gone well... let's keep this under our hats until we can explain this without causing rumors.

Marge seems happy to see the group again, until she realizes that they are short one rather important person.
"Liam! You look terrible! Oh, hello Daisy and Sophie."
The look of fear grows in the large woman's eyes when Liam goes on and on about assembling the towns leaders.
"We don't have any guild masters here......or any guilds either for that matter. I can call on Caleb if you wish, and Raythan, but the only leader we have here was with you. So, tell me master Liam, where is our beloved Nehru now if he hasn't returned with your group?"
Hrothgar shouts back at the command as he heads off to the tavern. "Ya, Ill try to remember that after a gallon of grog."

Daisy sketches a bow to Marge. Glad ta meet ya, Darlin'. Ah don't suppose ya'll have anythin' like a bathtub around here? Ah could really use a good soak.
After some small talk with Marge: Ya'll need ta excuse me- Ah need a strong drink or two.
She heads off to the Treehouse. Sophie starts exploring the town, snuffling into corners, digging, and otherwise acting like a curious badger.

Looks at Hrothgar and sees that he is on a clock now more than ever and that it just got worse. Quietly, Nehru didn't make it.
Marge, Nehru is dead. And there are more problems we discovered, and they need us to act quickly and united. Let's get Caleb and any other cool heads of family or whoever you can think of but keep this detail to yourself. I want to explain everything at once and not mince words. There are plenty of problems that we must address but I want to beat the rumor mill before this gets out of control. If we can get people together whom can then spread the news as a front, not the Saltmash Whisper Game. Please, Marge. Tell me you understand and can do this. I will go find Reythan and we will meet... Let's meet at Reythan's house. I really hope there is a Druid about. We need on right now. Are there any adventurers in town... no... wait... I am getting ahead of myself. First Caleb and anyone you trust. We... we need to organize a temporary council... at least until we get a better idea. Anyone with respect and a cool head.
If Marge complies he will rush off to find Reythan.
