Allric, Aoife, and Berry need to come up with a plan to "pull" us out, "rope" us in one could say.

They can't see you to throw rope at you, though they can certainly feel around for you if they want to risk going in.

That's what I'm hinting at, hint, hint. Berry knows roughly where we were, so he could grab a rope, give the end to Aoife and Allric, crawl in, tie us together, grab the burned out lantern, crawl out following the rope, and the three of them pull us out. Not glamorous but it would work.

With a history in the military, Rabon has survived several life-and-death fights, but never in the dark against nightmare-monsters. He found the encouter harrowinng and humbling. He no longer struts around with a Devil May Care attitude.

Also, somebody should probably pull that thing off of Thag's face and kill it.

Can we get a summary post in the IC thread detailing the outcome of the conflict? I see what the compromise was on our side, but not what we did to the creatures. Your post above makes it sound like at least one is alive still. Also, are we so injured we cannot move, or can Rabon light his lantern?

Edit: The others have Thag's pack, which (per his Character Sheet) has a lantern in it. That could get you in/out to help us.

I'm guess these were the babies, and mama is still waiting for us.

Nature decreased to 3/4 (was 3/5 before compromise).
Health test marked as passed.
Fate and Persona both marked as spent.
Devil May Care trait is removed from his sheet. (And that is the biggest hurt from the conflict, I think.)

While the monster is still "alive", in the fiction, it's not doing anything that hasn't already been paid for and can be dispatched easily, when you get around to it.

Thag is unconscious, but Rabon is awake (barely). It's dark, though.

He could try to light the lantern if he has oil and a tinderbox.

Taking a deep breath, Berry faces the darkness. I'm sorry friends, my shock overtook me for a moment, if someone could hand me a rope I could fetch our allies,
I was right with them. And I'm sorry Mr.
Allric, but those creatures did not seem undead, so my prayers were useless, and I may have panicked. Berry raises his shield, and prepares himself to dive into the dark.

I didn't think you had the Afraid condition, I thought only Aoife had it. I think the plan right now if for you to go in with Aoife anchoring you back in the light (you have a torch burning out there), find Rabon and I, and help Rabon pull by unconscious body out, along with my sword please, and the lantern.

Then lets go camp, one more test and we're hungry. I guess Rabon and I are not Injured, but we've lost Traits we can use. Didn't we get a Check or two along the way?

Should we camp then, once Berry gets Rabon and I out? One more test and we Grind, but I'm not sure if we're healthy enough to tackle whatever else is in here without some recuperation.

So far, shroom has only said that he's "preparing" to do things, but not actually doing them. In the interest of time, I'm going to assume that he's actually doing these things.

I'm not afraid, I was just rping why I wasn't in the conflict, and I was waiting to see if I was given a rope to commence the rescue or if i was just going in alone.

Thag has two ropes in his backpack (taking up four slots) and Aiofe has a rope over her torso.

Allric has my backpack. I assume he dropped it as soon as he got into the hallway. So all we need for my plan is to have Aoife chime in and say she's overcome her fear and anchor the rope as Berry ventures in.

I think he said once he works nights, so we'll either have to assume she will do it, or we wait until tomorrow.

I was looking over the inventory sheet and realized Rabon doesn't have a lantern listed anymore. I don't know how that might have happened... Did we "lose" a lantern somewhere? I didn't think we left any behind.

At any rate, I removed one lantern from Thag's pack and put it in Rabon's hand. Rabon has no oil, so he is without light. I'll wait for Aoife or Berry to act for a real-life day or so. If no one posts anything, Rabon will try to remove the creature from Thag's face.

I'd recommend that whoever comes in with a rope have a lit lantern with them so they can finish off the octopi.

And I agree that making camp is a good idea. THough Rabon and Thag don't actually have any conditions...
