Grothnak puts away his halberd and reaches for his pitchfork...

Have a fun vacation—but that's what you give us before a ten-day break? Boo!

Cliffhanger has already been used, I see.....

Okay, well......The suspense is killing me then.

Nice cliffhanger!!! This is akin to the power going out in the middle of a Walking Dead episode.

Enjoy your vacation!
Or watching a season finale episode of The X-Files.

I'm still FURIOUS about the ending of Season Ten. Such bullsh*t. They should have made an interesting, nostalgic, yet self-contained "mini-season", with a beginning and an end. Instead - one good episode (the were-monster), a couple of 'okay' ones, and awful final "episode".

(Sorry for ranting!)

Completely agree. The best thing about the new season is that it got me back into watch the old ones, really. Having gone back, I felt season 10 stylistically had most in common with the later post-movie seasons, and drew from the best and worst of seasons 6-9. I thought the were-monster episode was great, the other side cases were okay but nothing special, and the bookend episodes that dealt with the mythos were just terrible. With only 6 episodes, I would've preferred they either went entirely with monster of the week stories, or used all six episodes to slowly draw the main plotline out.

As for the enormous and baffling cliffhanger to end the season, I bet they did that because they thought that's one of the things The X-Files was notorious for, but I think that's a bit confused. Having season cliffhangers was standard operating procedure for every TV show between Dallas and Lost, so really The X-Files only had outrageous cliffhangers because every drama did, that's just how you wrote for TV then. I'm not so sure they really needed to do that now.

Thanks.

Cliffhangers ain't just for 90's TV! Breaking Bad had some great season-enders. And so did the latest House of Cards. :)

Chapters 6 and 7 have both been updated today.

Chapter 6's PCs seem to be building consensus towards a retreat to the abandoned farmhouse outside town, but wanted to make sure before pushing it forward. :)

Have a good weekend, everyone.

Hi guys, it's April school vacation week and I'm away with the family. I'll be returning Sunday. I may not be able to post, or if so sparingly. Thanks.

Also, the Know Your Enemy section has been updated with your new discoveries:
Inferno wrote:Know Your Enemy!

Here's what you know about your mysterious foes...
    • The strange, old hermit claims there are three dens of evil in Briarsgate: the Golden Grain Inn, the old Foaming Mug Inn, and the Church of Merikka.

The enemy raised villagers from the dead and condemned them to everlasting undeath. If the heroes had slain more villagers at the first battle at the inn, would they have faced more zombies later?

You found an evil shrine to a horrific serpentine reptile god in the tunnels beneath the Golden Grain Inn. Undead creatures in league with the enemy seem to worship this evil thing.

Here's what they know about you:...
    • They know Moogeye escaped imprisonment just before the Golden Grain Inn burned to the ground.

Thanks.

The front cover is fantastic and the back cover is uninspired (in keeping with many modules of the period). And the descriptive blurb on the front cover reveals even MORE secret info. Sheesh!
