a slight adjustment due to my late-night brain:
Lug takes the pommel of Reason to the goblins after a moment of screaming, cutting their explanations short. baxtaw, climbing the tree, sees the quartet of goblins moving in the general direction of the party but slightly more cautiously, and still almost six hundred feet away. if they continue their current course, they will certainly pass close enough to see the party.

Varas quickly ties up Mustard to a tree at the rear of the party. "Let's take these gobbos out. I'm going to try to blend in with the trees. I'll sneak up and stab the pale one from behind."
Varas will try to find a shadowy place to hide within 50' of the goblins' anticipated route.
Please let me know if I should make the hide roll.

Baxtaw- Will tell the party of the approaching goblins. Baxtaw will wait for Varas attack than fire his bow if possible at the larger goblin.
L. Bow atm= crit miss
L.Bow tohit[1d20+1] = 1+1 = 2, todam [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2

Lug takes cover behind a tree. When any goblins that have not been put to sleep are in range, he'll fire Smurf Grill, hoping to hell that Xavros wouldn't consider any goblin "innocent."
Symurgwyl (Longbow +1/+2) (THAC0 18): [1d20+2] = 17+2 = 19, Dmg: [1d8+2] = 1+2 = 3
Hey, at least they weren't both 1s.

Is anyone putting them to sleep?

I sure hope so.

"Bloody feckin' hell."
Marge positions herself behind the more able fighters and takes out her sling. She has Dog beside her ready to charge anything that gets past the front line, and waits until the goblins are close.

Dorvar
The dwarf will take a position behind a tree while he readies his crossbow and wait for goblins to come into range.

Nihilius fades quietly to the back, holding his staff and keeping Ferris his wolfhound quiet at his side until the combat is engaged.

There is only one sleep spell available per day in the current group, and it took out the first round of goblins so is already used. I will, however, offer to teach the elves to cast it when we get back to town...

Surprise Round:
Varas disappears into the undergrowth with the intent of circling and flanking the goblins.
As the goblins approach within range, Baxtaw is the first to draw and fire. His armguard, however, is misaligned and in his haste he catches the flesh of his inner arm with the bowstring as it snaps to. He cries out with the unexpected pain, just a bit--but enough to alert the goblins before the first shaft strikes a tree. The goblins turn toward the party just in time for the foremost one, wielding a spear, takes an arrow from Smurf Grill through the chest and lands with a choked scream in the bushes.
The white-skinned goblin leaps into action, calling out in the harsh chaotic tongue:
Actions and initiative. The goblin party is about 190 feet from you, behind trees and bushes.

Maybe Valorei can give them a seminar on the local flora and fauna! (I kid! I kid!)

Dorvar will fire his crossbow at the white-skinned goblin before trying to move up and maintain cover.

Baxtaw- Will try to draw his bow again thru pain. He will take at the first goblin he sees.
L. Bow Atk
L.Bow tohit[1d20+1] = 10+1 = 11, todam [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3
I think the previous roll was my worst ever.

Lug shoots at the goblin with the spear from behind his cover.
Symurgwyl (Longbow +1/+2) (THAC0 18): [1d20+2] = 16+2 = 18, Dmg: [1d8+2] = 5+2 = 7
Someone else please roll initiative.

Sorry for the absence everyone, Valorei would have definitely had words for Lug... As it stands however I'll do this.
Valorei gives the goblin a smile, trying to reassure him that honesty will be the best course of action, within the blink of an eye Valorei watches as steel swings by in his view and cuts open the goblin before him, blood shooting out and coating his face and clothes. The young Elf simply stays still, his eyes completely wide open as he watches the goblin cut in half and the others screaming out in fear as the leader of this group beats them in the faces with the pommel of the very same sword he used to cut down their companion.
While the others begin yelling about more goblins coming Valorei can only stay where he is, never blinking over the scene of indiscriminate slaughter, "This isn't the work of someone good... This isn't noble... Oh Gods..." He stands, his eyes unfocused and his whole arms shaking in some mixture of both rage and sadness. The Elf locks onto Lug, tinges of anger rising in him, he gave his word to those Goblins, they had done nothing wrong and still he cut him down right before him...
Valorei draws his sword, a sword that knows the heart of nobility and goodness above all else, Valorei feels sick to his stomach as he instead looks in the direction of the unconscious goblins, "I won't let anyone be tortured in fear..." Using his sword he cuts both of the goblins throats while the others are engaged with the other goblins.

OK, a slight retcon due to some details that were missing or overlooked (by me) previously:
Baxtaw holds on his shot until Varas makes the first move. While they are waiting, Valorei, stunned into silence by the execution of the first goblin and Lug's and Dorvar's threats, steps forward to finish the creatures before they can be tortured or otherwise mutilated. A high-pitched keening sound fills the nearby forest, emanating from the elf-blade, which flies powerfully from Valorei's hands and lands blade-first in a nearby tree before he can touch steel to either goblin's throat.
At the same moment, the group hears Varas call out from behind the goblins, who are now about 140' from the party, and the goblins immediately start to break formation, the white goblin calling out to the others as described above. Baxtaw lets fly with an arrow, incurring the trouble described above (forgot to mention the -1 to hit with the bow for the rest of this encounter related to the injury, though no HP lost) and Lug takes down one of the spear-wielding goblins as an arrow flies from Varas' presumed location and lands in the neck of the one with the shortbow. The white-skinned goblin charges back toward Varas through the undergrowth.
This takes the place of the surprise round, above. Feel free to edit your actions for the new round if you would like, or to amend them in new posts.

I think I've lost count of goblins. Is there still one for Lug to shoot at?

Got it. Did the arrow in the neck kill the goblin, and if so, that leaves one regular and one pale gobbo, right?

If he's not dead, he's probably out of the fight.
One normal goblin with spear/buckler/studded leather, one white-skinned goblin with javelin and shield/chain.
