Mursley agrees with this idea.Wyzard wrote:Severi Silvertongue, Elf
"So, the Orcs are likely on alert now. I think that narrow passage will be too dangerous to attempt if its defenders are roused. We should, rather, attempt another building and see if we can take a second group of orcs by surprise."
How is Mursley getting on with learning invisibility? Did he get a chance to study last night?

The Forgotten City, 10:00 am
The adventurers return to the city, skirting it to the east before approaching a lone building on the outskirts. It is fortunate for them that they do so, for Severi's sharp elven eyes are able to pick out the outline of several orcish shapes keeping watch from the windows of the second story of yesterday's building. Their approach is also fortuitous in that the sun is at their back, and no doubt helps to keep them and their small army concealed from the weak orcish eyes.
The chosen building is perhaps one hundred feet square and appears to be a three story structure, judging by the number and layout of windows. A single large door is on the ground floor, facing south. Rhys examines it and opines that it is closed, but not locked, and could easily be opened. He finds no traps on or near it.

Severi Silvertongue, Elf
Severi advises the armsmen that they ought conceal themselves as best they can, and watch for trouble from Building #3.
He then listens at the door that Rhys has trap-checked, and if he hears nothing he opens it.

Re: IC XII
Severi listens at the door but hears nothing. He is able to push the door open himself; for once, one of the massive stone doors has hinges that function almost as they were meant to. The door swings open, revealing a fifteen foot wide hallway that runs the length of the building; a window is set into the wall at the end of the corridor. There are four massive, wooden doors opening into the hallway, each paired opposite another. The first set is approximately twenty feet into the building; the second fifty feet in. All four doors are closed.
All in all, this building appears to be in much better shape than the others the adventurers have seen; the flagstones laid into the floor are largely whole and uncracked, the walls relatively clean and free of slime or mold. Inlaid into the flagstones of the corridor is an abstract pattern of blue and gold tiles.

Severi Silvertongue, Elf
Severi indicates that someone with a ten foot pole should check the flagstones and tiles.

Rhys the Traveler
Rhys kneels and examines the closest flagstones, without actually touching any of them.

Neither Rhys nor Thurgan detect anything unusual about the flagstones.

Aquar, cleric
Aquar adjusts his bullseye lantern of continual light to provide good illumination. He concentrates on his Rowan shield, waving it about to see if it vibrates from nearby magic.
"The place seems in too good a condition," he mutters.

The Forgotten City 10:30 am
Severi searches the surroundings and quickly cuts down a stout sapling to use as a trap finder. The elf finds no traps, and advances down the hallway to the first set of doors. Each is made of a light, fine-grained wood and banded in iron. Neither appears to have a locking mechanism.
