Abrex makes sure his companion come with him.

He says, "Nice work gang. I might check a hunch out so I'll bring up the rear."

He goes through his traveling spell book and realizes he doesn't have it.

He continues,"Nope, I don't have it. Ok coming back up front with Mason. Watch the floor for pits. This place seems to like those. Mason your up for your special skills."

Elsa the half-orc sword mistress waits at the back of the line as the others take much time considering how to handle the door. She peers over all those heads. She waits. She spits into the chair-seat-shield, imagining her saliva is teleporting through to land on Acerack's head. She feels the need to urinate, perhaps into the chair.

"You need me to shield-bash that door?"

And we're back!

When we last left our intrepid party...

...they were facing down a hallway and a door. A foreboding hallway and a looming door, to be sure, especially in this place, where few things are as they seem.

Actions?

Eduardo waits patiently for Mason to check the hallway beyond the door for traps, tricks, what-have-you. If too much time passes, he will begin prodding the floor beyond the opening with his spear. If this fails to set off any traps, he will move inside the doorway and progress southwards, prodding with his spear along the way...

Once again Mason puts his skills to the test, picking and prodding his way down the hallway, mostly looking for pressure plates. Once at the door, he checks that for any weird mechanisms in the jam and frame.

Mason pokes and prods his way down the hallway, checking for traps as he moves towards the door. He makes it safely to the door. He checks the door, but finds no traps.

Next step: opening it?

Yes, Mason turns the handle, checking to see if it is even locked.

The handle turns freely, but the door is stuck shut.

The monk kicks the door open. Beyond lies 20' more of passage ending in another door.

"Well done Mason; now would you like to check for more traps or should I utilize a spell to discern if there are any such?"; asks the Dwarven Warrior-Priest....

"I can try, but this one stinks of a trap, a twenty foot hallway to another door?" Go ahead, divine what you might." Mason replies.

Abrex says, "Good job Mason."

Abrex and companions move up when Mason signals it's clear.

Xale nods and then holds up his Holy Symbol and goes through his prayers to receive his divine insight as to where any traps may be hidden....

Xale asks his god for the ability to see traps. Sure enough, one appears before him: the floor just beyond the door Mason just opened is actually a trap door!

Zoster suggests that we set the trapdoor open, or mark it somehow so we don't risk falling in accidentally later. Also, we should check if there are any passages on the inside of it, as it was the case on one of the pits by the tom's entrance.

Abrex says, "This place is going to kill us all. I hope it's worth it whatever it is we are looking for in here. It's slow going too I wonder how late it is getting? Half asking half thinking out loud. He attempts to gauge how long they've been back in and if they need sleep. Let's find a spot where we can rest a bit when we can. I'm hungry, tired and my companions are probably as well. I don't want to make a silly mistake if we are over tired."
