TK, not sure how you want to handle Marodin and Semele going forward as far as their available spells, I am cool with whatever you want to do. For the record, I believe that they had remaining:
FYI we do also have 3 emergency potions of healing, and 9 of 12 of our first aid kits still remaining (both noted on the Treasure/XP thread).
Questions to Consider:
1. Who wants to attack? We could have two waves if desired, the first wave at the front throwing weapons and then squating down and letting the bowmen behind them fire a volley of arrows. Or we could keep things simple and just use the bowmen.
2. Do we want to try to take a prisoner? It is possible that these creatures may know another way to the surface... If so, do we have any Sleep spells remaining?
If everyone can chime in their intentions by the end of the day, I can put it all together into a cohesive battle plan.

It would be unfair of me to take away the party's two healers whilst potentially stuck underground for an extended period of time. So neither will act offensively, but will be available to heal. Once you guys return to Threshold Inana can attempt to recruit Semele if desired.

Bregalad the elf
Bregalad has Invisibility, Light, and Magic Missile ready to cast.
He typically throws his spear when charging in to meet his enemy, or if he needs to keep them from escaping. Otherwise, he prefers to wield it as a melee weapon.

Innana the Fighter:
Thank you. I would very much like to have Semele be our henchwoman, and I would have fun playing her character. Semele and Innana will be great friends.

Innana the Fighter:
It would be nice to have Drudsa and Semele with me in the back in case we are being attacked from both directions. Since there is only room for two people in these passageways, it would probably be smart to layer our group with a fighter at each end protected by a healer and a magic user. Secondary fighters can share the front on each side, such as Rhys or Bregalad, Lanny or Traitiln. Traitiln, sleep might be useful if there is a lot of Kobolts coming.

Good point, Finglas, we don't have to face them here, although if we retreat we probably won't face them at all, as it is doubtful that they would all jump over the hole to chase us.
I do like the spear setting idea though.
Good points, Innana, they will be figured into the plan.
So far it sounds like 3 preferences to stay and fight (Lanny, Drudsa, Innana) and 1 preference for a tactical retreat (Bregalad). Anyone else? I'll post something as Party Caller before I go to bed (midnight-ish Central Time) to sum it all up.

I think it is very likely they will try ranged attacks, as well. Difference? They probably have crude javelins (maybe?) or spears, so their ammo might be limited, vs. some of us having slings or bows.
If we had crossbows, they would be the most effective in these environs; not so sure what kind of range TK is going to allow us with bows, considering they are generally fired using a trajectory angle for any great distance. In all honesty, I have no idea what the drop is on an arrow at 50' or 100'. Probably not much...
Ummm... Rhys is all for seeing how many there are and how they are armed and possibly trying to remove them. If we retreat, they'll still know someone was here and try to find us. If we need to camp for the night in the basement, then we don't want a bunch of sneaky kobolds looking for us.

Drudsa has a sleep spell prepared to cast.

Tratiln is still at full spells - Sleep x2, Rainbow Attack, Magic Missile

Bouv - I think the elves can currently cast only three spells, so I would assume that would mean Sleep (x1) / Rainbow Attack / Magic Missile?

Sshhh.... Yeah I think you're right, I was miscounting. For some reason I thought we had 3 level 1's and a level 2 when it was just 3 total.

I believe Finglas actually intended to suggest for us to go forward and look for the lair of the kobolds.
Finglas wrote:Bregalad the elf
Bregalad breathes a sigh of relief, as he sees Innana successfully cross the pit. He gathers his things and dons his armor, and then discusses the party's next actions. "Lantharios, I was at first hesitant to see ourselves on this side of the pit. Yet, this may be a good area to make camp. The kobolds may have sleeping quarters nearby. And the trip alarm may work in our favor. Rhys, do you think it could be set back up?"
Thanks, Drudsa! That was indeed Bregalad's intention.....
1. Look for the kobolds' lair.
2. If their lair is indeed nearby, then set up camp there. The pit would offer us some protection from one direction. And if the trip alarm could be set back up, then we too would have an early warning system for our group.
3. If there is no lair, but an exit is found, then leave this dungeon and camp under open sky!

Oops, sorry Finglas! I thought you were suggesting that we camp in between the giant hole on the one side and the trip wire on the other side. My bad!
Ok, so it looks like we are all in agreement then. Onward and (hopefully) upward!

I guess we need to decide whether to continue or to camp... And if we camp, where to camp.
We also need to decide if we want to want to proceed to the third level or to remain on the second level. I count six possible entrances to the third level:
1. here
2. giant hole in the hallway (use a rope to lower people?)
3. natural caverns (sloping downward)
4. elevator(?) to the north of the pedestal room
5. staircase leading down to the east of the wizard statue room
6. staircase leading down directly underneath the wizard statue (activated by the crystal)

We should explore the rest of the second level before going down.
We should also consign ourselves to the fact that we will need to spend the night in the dungeon, something I'm loath to do...

I'm with Al on this, let's clear all this floor before delving any deeper.
As for resting I guess this should be our first priority at this moment, the characters need to rest. We should pick the area that would be easier to defend, and from which we have at least one escape route.

As much as we hate to, I agree, rest is on the agenda, then onto finishing the second level.

Okeedokee. Lanny was hoping to go a little further since we still have a lot of spells remaining, but I suppose this is as good a time as any to rest. Maybe we should just rest in the kobold lair after all (or in the hallway right outside of it) and then cross the giant hole again in the morning? Another option, if we want to box ourselves in to protect ourselves from wandering monsters, might be the room directly to the south of the mausoleum. We could just block both doors and hunker down for the night, using either door as an escape route if needed. A third option might be the pedestal room, if we want a more open space. I am open to other suggestions as well.
Other considerations:
Water
Yes, that’s right, water. Most of us have only 1 day’s supply of water in our waterskins, which will be depleted at the end of the current day. I suppose we could get one of the clerics to prepare and cast “Purify Food and Water” on the kobold’s water barrel in the morning so that we can refill our waterskins to have enough water for another day (Lanny will check to make sure that it really is water in that barrel, and not something more nefarious...)
Healing
We can have the clerics expend their remaining Cure Light Wounds spells at the end of the current day, so that they can prepare fresh spells in the morning. Based on current hit point levels, I would say that Tratiln and Thordin are probably the most in need of Marodin’s (2) Cure Light Wounds spells. Everyone else would regain 1 hit point after resting.
Clerical Spells for the next day
I looked to see if there were any good clerical spells that might help us find a way out of here through divination, but unfortunately there are no good choices. I would suggest that we have Marodin prepare Find Traps as his second level spell tomorrow (if that is allowed), along with his usual CLW spells.
Mage spells for the next day
I assume that all the spellcasters will get at least their usual 2 hours of daily spell study, which would give Tratiln a chance to finish learning Charm Person and both Lanny and Bregalad a chance to finish learning Sleep. We can then coordinate with one another on which spells to prepare for the next day so that we have all our bases covered.

That all sounds good.
Not sure what room would be best to camp in, though... The room the crystal ball was in had natural light (no need to expend any oil or torches) via crystals.
