Early Morning, Partly Cloudy
Keya tells the others that he will need at least 2 days before he can adventure again, but once Haldric prays over him to heal the remainder of his wounds, he seems to change his tune and joins up with the team.
Once outside the Keep again, there is little in the way of organization or leadership, with more questions asked than actions taken. Finally Loyn simple starts walking towards the river.
Actions?
A little direction here would be helpful.

Haldric responds, "Well, our first order of business is trying to find the old man. Let's hope he is still in one piece. The gnolls, now, that is an interesting turn of fate. We haver several days yet to meet them, 4 more I think was agreed, and then we'd head off to fight what I can only think is undead. Not the best arrangement, that is true, but better than being dead yesterday I think we all agree.
Let's see what we can find today and then we can see if anyone else wants to join us with the undead - I imagine we'll need all the help we can get..."

"Calling out won't spook deer, getting close to them before they know we are there will spook deer. Otherwise they will just walk away if we call out from a distance."

Loyn thinks for a while, then says,“If I were fleeing from a bad situation I would look for a cave or rocky outcropping to hide in, because that would comfort me. Bugs, I’m thinking your Da’s held up somewhere hurt, can you think of an area that would put him at ease? We should be looking for signs of clothing, traces of blood if he’s hurt, starting along the waterway and into the next area. Maybe he left clues for us to follow.

After walking across the Gnoll Ford again to access the opposite side of the river, several members of the group offer up some quality suggestions. Gyb looks at his new wet shoes, feeling them shrinking up on his sore feet the more he walks.
Shouting out for Peppy doesn't help you find the gnome, but at least it doesn't attract anything more dangerous........yet. The group can take solace in the fact that they haven't startled any more wildlife either.
Following the river bank towards the southeast, no signs of the friendly gnolls you bargained with are seen. When the party reaches another shallow stream that runs away from the larger river, Loyn suggests they keep an eye out for signs left behind by Peppy. Just then, a stack of several river stones piled up in a cairn is seen on the other side of the smaller stream. (red star on map) It sits right at the edge of the stinking swamp that Gyb is not looking forward to entering.

Not sure what the scale is on this map but if it seems feasible...
Cloudia crosses the stream and heads toward the tree line to the south. Maybe I can get a better look from up there, she says pointing to a tall tree.
